RoaR#18

Roar stood behind Lion with his wide sword used as a shield, ready to take the brunt of the attack that was coming to hit him. He could feel that the attack was of incredible strength as he braced himself for the inevitable impact. He could make out a faint silhouette of a person attacking.

A big boom could be heard as Roar and the person came into contact. Lion was thrown away and Roar was pushed by that person with great strength and speed and both of them ended up in the forest around the town.

Roar was thrown far into the woods as was his attacker. He went through many trees and ended up in a clearing in the forest. He grunted and opened his eyes just to see a man that was getting up on the opposite side of the clearing looking at him with an annoyed expression. He had dark brown hair and gray menacing eyes. He was clad in dark armor and carried a very special looking black spear in his hand.

“Tsk. You ruined the perfect opportunity.” Said the man calmly.

“That wasn’t fair. He wasn’t looking.” Said Roar as he was getting up.

“Fair? That word means nothing.” The man looked at Roar with a bit of annoyance.

“Oh, I get it. You knew you wouldn’t win head on. Its ok.” Roar stood there looking at the man with pity.

“I can beat anyone I want. It was just easier that way!” the man was starting to get irritated at Roar and raising his voice.

“Sure you can.” Said Roar while looking at him with eyes full of pity.

The man saw Roar’s gaze that was full of pity and he held his head.” Stop looking at me with those eyes!” shouted the man as he attacked Roar head on.

Roar saw that the man was attacking with a spear so he took out his own stone sword to defend against it.

The man charged at Roar and tried swinging at him from the top but Roar blocked the attack and they both kicked each other at the same time. They both were kicked back a bit. They stood still there for a few moments assessing each other some more.

“You are not weak. Who are you?” asked the man confused as he has never heard of this man.

“Roar. you?” asked Roar as he was getting ready for anything the man was going to try.

The man looked at him with a confused look then began laughing out loud. Roar was confused. The man then continued.” Are you an idiot? You are attacking my fortress and battling me without even knowing who I am?”

“Yes.” Said Roar as if he was asked a question.

The man laughed again.” It wasn’t a question. Now why are you here?”

Roar looked at him and after a few moments attacked the man with an overhead swing. The man parried it and jumped back and shouted. “Whoa there, I’m asking you a question here.”

“You said it wasn’t a question.” Said Roar as he was confused.

The man laughed again.” You really are dumb aren’t you.”

“I don’t need to be smart to beat you.” Said Roar with a smile.

The man smiled back.” Oh? Now that is your goal. The question is, why is it your goal?”

Roar stood there silent as he didn’t know to answer or not.

“Answer.” Said the man with an irritated expression.

Roar straightened his back and looked at him while pointing at him with his finger.” I want the ess…. Ex…. I don’t know. But I need it. Oh, and you guys need to stop kidnapping people.”

The man’s gaze became sharp.” So, you want my essence extractor?”

“Yea, that’s it. You got it right. Gotta say, you’re smarter than you look.” Said Roar as he was surprised of the level of intelligence of the man.

“Well, your face matches your intelligence perfectly.” The man said with a malicious smile.

“Thank you.” Roar was happy as if he received a compliment.

The man saw that there was no getting through his Impenetrable defense of stupidity.

The man attacked Roar as he had it with him and his shenanigans. He attacked from all angles with great speed and power and Roar was blocking all of them. As Roar was blocking them, he was trying to say something.

The man jumped back and looked at Roar with an evil smile.” What is it? Too strong for you? you want to surrender?” and he laughed.

“No.” The man’s laugh was cut short after hearing Roar and his expression became serious.

“Seriously. Who are you?” asked Roar with a very confused expression. He really did not know who he was.

The man was speechless.” I didn’t know such stupidity was possible. But you keep on surprising me each time you open your mouth.”

“I shall engrave it in you.” said the man as he charged towards Roar with great speed.

Roar saw him and lifted his sword, ready to defend against the attack. Once the man reached him, he felt something cold pierce his side and after he looked, he saw that his stone sword had a hole in it that the man had made with his last attack after weakening it earlier with the previous attacks and he used it to pierce Roar through it. Although it wasn’t very deep it still hurt and that made him angry.

“Finally!” said the man as he was confused as to why it took him these many attacks to pierce through a simple stone sword. As he was using a very strong spear.

Roar grit his teeth and swung his sword with a lot of strength. As the spear was lodged in the sword it was pulled out from his side and the man was swung with the spear as well. Roar swung his sword towards the ground. the man hit the ground following the swing and let out a loud grunt.

Roar was angry, now that he was a bit injured. He ran towards the man on the ground with the intent to attack him. The man got up and saw Roar running towards him with his sword drawn and quickly got ready to block his swing. Roar reached the man but instead of swinging his sword, he kicked the man and made him go through many trees and hit the side of a hill.

The man got up with difficulty and looked around and saw Roar as he was running towards him like an unrelenting killing machine. He then shouted.” Katrina!”.

Roar was running towards the man that he had kicked, He smiled when he found him and ran with an even greater speed.

“Roar, Watch out!” Suddenly the stone shouted in Roar’s mind with great urgency.

Roar looked up a bit and saw an arrow coming towards his face from atop a tree he tried stopping but he could not do it in time as the speed that he was carrying was too great. He just closed his eyes and turned his head.

Suddenly he heard a clang and opened his eyes. He saw that the arrow that was heading towards him was just hit by another arrow that came from behind him. A familiar looking arrow.

“Didn’t I tell you not to do anything rash before I got here?” Roar heard a familiar voice. He stopped and looked back with a smile.

It was the elf. She jumped down near Roar from a nearby tree and asked Roar.” Are you ok?” with concern on her face.

“No problem.” Said Roar with a smile and a thumbs up.

The elf smiled when she heard Roar’s voice but then she saw some blood, as she followed its trail, she saw the wound that the man had caused upon Roar. She became silent.

“Elf?” Roar asked quietly.

The man got up and saw Katrina, the woman that he had called upon for help earlier was standing near him.

Katrina was a human ranger that had black hair and black eyes. She had black ranger clothes and a black bow.

“Good job, now …” he could not finish his sentence as he felt breathing became difficult. He looked at Katrina and saw her breathing difficultly as well.

“It’s her, master.” Katrina pointed towards the elf that was standing near Roar. They both looked at her and saw that she was staring at them silently and that they were feeling her extreme killing intent.

“This will be the end of you.” said the elf in a cold voice as her eyes radiated incredible blood lust that sent chills down the spine of anyone that saw it.
