A downtrodden, want-to-be physician named Graham Tabiner goes to the city of Shadowbrook for employment after leaving his old life behind.
When he meets Virgil Von Claudio, a noble lord of Shadowbrook and renowned physician in need of an assistant, it seems as though the stars have finally aligned his his favor… until he learns a terrible secret in the dead of night:
Lord Von Claudio is a necromancer, capable of bringing the dead back to life.
