Everyone from elders to children had a joyous look on their faces. there were dances on the street. Couples could be seen enjoying their time. Yes, this was the time of the year when the festival takes place. Lea and I were practicing for the play. We were featuring a play about a princess and a poor prince on the street. But to make the play more fun we swapped the roles the prince was saved by the bullies by the princess. The princess took a stand for her love and shut the mouths of annoying nobles. But the story doesn't end there the princess had to protect her love from a horrible villainess who fell in love with a prince and decided to kill the princess and seduce the prince. Of course, the prince wasn't useless he undergoes character development and unleashes his sword to protect the princess from the villainess. In the end both the prince and princess overcome hardships together and live happily. "wow! Eveline, how did you come up with such a play? strange you know very well that in this era women are considered disgusting if they hold a sword. Their pretty and delicate hands would get blisters." said Rick one of my classmates who was supposed to play the role of the delicate prince. "Do you mean I look disgusting?" I replied with a frown. "Haha.... when did I ever say that," he replied awkwardly. " mister, I am the only woman learning swordsmanship. You should know what you said is offending," I said loudly. "I am sorry if it felt like that, I was talking generally. You don't even feel like women now since all the things you do are strange," he replied flustered. "WHAT?! now you're doubting my gender. Just you wait Rick Laymond I will kill you if I get my hands on you." I shouted. after all that arguments we decided to follow the play to make a report on public opinion and see how they responded. I was a little nervous since e would be performing in front of such a huge crowd and I was the one responsible for writing this script and everyone's happiness was depending on it. "haha..." I sighed sitting on the bench. "Long time no seen." I heard a whisper in my ear and bounced off the bench on the ground. "You!" I shouted as I saw the face. "Ladies should keep their voice low no one would marry you if you shout like that." said. "who said I needed to get married and are you a ghost or something who pops up anywhere anytime?" I replied. "who knows maybe this ghost will haunt you for the rest of your life," he said laughing this was the first time I saw him laughing, he looked so handsome that anyone would fall in love with him. Those sparkly silver hairs that slightly covered his deep blue eyes made him look like stars shining in the night sky. "what are you mesmerized by this beauty" he said looking into my eyes. " Ava!" we need to practice," shouted Lea from afar. "Oh! I should leave now," I said as I ran away. I smiled and I didn't know why but all my anxiety melted away after talking with him. before we knew it was our time to perform. The play went smoothly and was opposite to my expectations the majority of the people enjoyed but I felt as if some of the aristocrats were not happy about the play when I looked around I spotted a man wearing a hood that slightly showed his golden hair. I recognized him. he was my uncle who secretly came to see my play. he gave me a warm smile when my eyes met and I smiled back. I was so happy that everything went fine. All of the members who were on our team were having a party at Hasley. Hasley is one of those most expensive restaurants. Lea looked too excited to go but I didn't want to go. "Ava are you going," she asked with sparkly eyes. looking at her I wanted to go but then I didn't dare to go because if I go the only thing I would hear will be people gossiping about me. last year when I went I could hear people whispering things like "How shameless of me to come and do I think that I am a noble? and how dare I wear a dress. I do not belong there but I didn't want to ruin the smile on Lea's face so I just said I was feeling tired and left. I went outside and sat on a nearby bench. I was trying so hard to hold my tears in when that boy came. "Hey! Didn't you go o the party? what are you doing here? " he said and sat next to me on the bench. I couldn't look at his face since no matter how hard I tried I couldn't hold my tears back. "why aren't you replying." he said pulling my face up gently. looking into his eyes I couldn't hold my tears back and started crying so hard. "hey! Why are you crying all of a sudden. Stop crying." he said looking all flustered.
"Now since you have bawled out your eyes. tell me why are you crying did someone hit you or shouted at you," he said with a look as if he was ready to kill anyone. "Don't make that face you will scare people off," I replied laughing. I felt some warm sensation inside my body. I didn't know what that feeling was but no matter what it was it was good. " by the way I still don't know your name. " I asked him. "What you don't know my name. I thought you did." he said looking at me with a surprised look. "what you never told me. how can I know?" I replied. "Really.... you are one strange girl." saying this he looked into my eyes and said "The captain of royal guards Zill Arthur the only son of Duke Arthur."
Life can sometimes be hard even if you are living in a castle. "Avaline, sometimes I feel as if life is an ocean and in drowning in it." Said Zill with sullen eyes looking at me. "No Zill you got it all wrong life is an ocean that you don't have to drown yourself in but rather swim all the way to the coats while enjoying the scenery. I know while swimming through it you can't rest but still you can enjoy the moment. And remember Zill you are the only shadow in my sunny life." Saying this I turned back towards the hall. "You give me a reason to live Ava." He said leaning back at the wall....
