3rd POV
Y/n was let out of the hospital after three days of observation. Since Vergilia had her leg broken, and was in the building longer than Y/n, they held her back. Y/n visited her only once, to make sure she was fairly okay. At least she woke up. They didn't talk much, Y/n didn't tell her that he was the one to carry her out. He also forbid Dante to say that.
-You know that once she comes back to school, she will find out, right? - Dante asked. - Everyone is talking about that.
-I will worry about it once she comes back. - Y/n answered. - So don't tell her.
-Sure, I can do that for you. - Dante nodded. - After all you saved her. I always thought no one would stop me, and that I was tough enough to keep my family safe, yet I was just standing there all panicked.
-Don't beat yourself up, I was just more stupid than you and didn't consider any possible consequences if I failed. - Y/n said, trying to brighten his mood up.
-I wish I did that, as her brother I should be there for her. - Dante looked at the floor. - My father would be disappointed. You on the other hand, you're okay. Not only an asshole you want people to see you as. Other's see it too.
-That's bad. - Y/n answered. - Because I'm really an asshole. - he said, before he turned around and left.
Time skip
Right in the morning on the next day, Y/n was called to Hibari's office. Y/n had a feeling it would be a very hard day. His mother didn't say much to him the evening before, when she picked him up from the hospital. He went straight to his room and locked himself up, not feeling like talking to her. Even now, he was still stressed. Vergilia was okay, but the feeling of almost losing her permanently was still very much alive in the back of his head, and it didn't want to go away.
-It's good to see you in one peace. -said Hibari. - If you got hurt, I would be in serious trouble.
-I'm sorry. - Y/n said, visibly tired.- I didn't think, I was on autopilot.
-I'm not blaming you for anything, in fact you impressed me. - Hibari leaned back in his chair. - You risked your life. I didn't notice that Dante Sparda was in distress, you did. You rushed to him, and you were also the one to react. I don't know, who would do it better. I knew there's something more in you behind all these walls.
-You're another person who tells me that, and I don't like it. - said Y/n.
-I know that people are bad. - answered Hibari. - But you can't find real friendship, or love, without taking a risk of getting hurt.
-I got enough hurt, it's not worth it.- Y/n sighed.
-So saving Vergilia was a mistake? - Hibari raised an eyebrow.
-No. - Y/n shook his head. - I guess I couldn't avoid it without risking the one I l...urgh. - Y/n cleared his throat right away, the four letter work getting stuck inside it.
-Someone you love. - Hibari nodded his head. - And that word just can't go through your throat. Anyway, I won't be holding you back more, just be prepared for a lot of attention.
-Thanks for the heads-up. - Y/n said before getting up, and leaving Hibari's office.
He was right though. He knew people were talking about him, the basketball team appreciated what he did, his classmates wanted to talk to him all of sudden, praising him. Inoue was rambling his ear off too. Y/n felt overwhelmed with all of this attention. He wanted to run away as soon as Akashi gave him the notes from the past days.
-I have a request. - Y/n said to his friend. - Could you also prepare some for Vergilia, and pass them through Dante?
-Sure. - Akashi nodded. - I'm also guessing you don't want anyone to know you asked me.
-Please. - Y/n confirmed.
-Leave it to me then. - Seijurou agreed.
The teachers were mentioning what he did at every lesson. He was called to the Principal's office, where he got another praise. He would ask her to calm everyone down so they would leave him alone, but he didn't want to look weak. In the end, he didn't ask for help and just glared at everyone, once he left the office. For some it did the trick, for some it didn't.
That's how three weeks went by.
