History's Strongest Tour Guide

Chapter 20

Chapter 20

Nov 08, 2023

The clash of wood and fangs erupted in the dim surroundings.
Using the broken spear as 2 separate staffs, Glen Chu's movements were like water, twisting his body while decisively plunging the sharp edges into the nearby wolves that shot out from the darkness.
The camera was in night vision mode!
Everyone saw Glen Chu running and fighting off several wolves that crept out from the bushes.
Just then while Glen Chu was still dealing with another, they saw a sneaky wolf jump off from a high stone, plunging straight at Han Ming.
Oh No!
Brother Ming is in trouble!
Time seemed frozen in place as several people stood with gaped mouths, their brains uncertain whether to scream or breathe.
Their faces stretched in transformed horror as they watched the gravity of the situation way down on them with every passing millisecond.
Several people place their hands over their eyes, breathing heavily as they already imagined the worst.
But after blocking the incoming-gruesome visuals with their hands, why was it that their ears hadn't picked up any cries from Han Ming after all this time?
Eh?
Slowly parting their fingers and looking through the gaps, many were taken aback when they saw Han Ming still alive, well and still running fiercely like before.
"_"
Where is the death?
Those who watched the scene felt it was incredible.
What did they see?
Inches before the attack was about to land its mark, Glen Chu's hand moved like an immortal, shooting one part of the broken spear into the air.
The sharp edge shot into the wolf's open mouth, sending it flying back and pinning it to a tree.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Many across the barrage rolled on their beds, yelling loudly that they woke their entire households up.
Heck! Some neighbors were also awakened.
It was even more annoying knowing that there was nothing wrong with them… no burglary attacks, no sickness, no bad dreams… nothing.
So you mean to say you yelled this much because of watching someone online?
"Bastard! Do you know the time? Look! Now, you've done it! You've woken your little sister up! Do you know how hard I worked to get her to sleep?"
"Who is yelling? Shut up and go to bed before I break down your door!"
"Ahhh! What the hell is wrong with you? I told you I have a busy day tomorrow. So if you are possessed, you yell somewhere else! I don't care if you are a demon or not. If you make me lose an ounce of sleep, I will re-kill you again!"
"Don't think because you are my child, I can't kill you. I brought you into this world, and I can take you back if you sing shut UP!"
….
Very soon, the forest became a battleground of life and death where primal instincts clashed with human intelligence and Glen Chu's absurd strength.
This time, Han Ming was so focused, having 1000% trust in Glen Chu.
It's one thing to watch it, and another thing to experience the attack for himself.
There he was, running for his life when suddenly, his eyes caught the beast's jaguar mouth opening to bite his face.
He watched it coming closer and closer, with its eyes that conveyed its purpose, as though staring he was bound to become its food.
For a moment, a powerful wave of fear took over Han Ming's body.
The beast was too fast for his reaction.
Han Ming truthfully felt he was a goner.
But the spear… No… Glen Chu saved his life with a calm demeanor as though it was nothing.
It was only now that his precious words truly sunk in.
[Han Ming, you are my client. I, the tour guide, have absolute faith in keeping you safe.]
On the website, it also stated that no harm would come to him no matter the situation.
He didn't take it seriously earlier, but now, he truly did.
There were just 2 spears left. He did his part as Spear Carrier with pride in his chest.
.
Pah! Pah! Pah! Pah!
The longer Glen Chu defended, the more he realized these wolves were adapting and changing their strategies.
Dammit!
What are they planning now?
Glen Chu thought these wolves would have left after seeing their situation was disadvantageous.
But who knew they were so hell-bent on attacking them even after the losses they had?
Why? Could it be that because they were one of the top dogs in this area, they couldn't stand a mere human doing this to them?
Hell…
Perhaps some of them have never seen a human before.
This was the Azbian forest's danger zone.
It was a place where nature ate and spat out weaklings like humans.
Here, wolf packs seemed to be 3 to even 10 times larger in size than in regular territories.
Their pack might just be as large as clans with 100 or even 200 wolves.
The entire place was theirs with little to no disturbance from the outside modern industrialized world.
This was the wild…
Without proper equipment, weapons, machinery and protection, it was hard for humans to pull through here.
It seems that these wolves were never going to give up!
What to do?
Shwa~~~
Just then, Glen Chu heard the sounds of heavy, harsh and overly clashing waters coming from afar.
Could that be the answer? A stream?
No…  It can't be.
The heavy clashing noises said otherwise.
"Keep going! We go straight!"
