I learned to kill God in an asylum.

Chapter 11: Opening the Door

Chapter 11: Opening the Door

Oct 21, 2023

  Really tired.
  Both mentally and physically.
He really didn't expect this to happen on his first day of transferring over, meeting monsters, being betrayed by his classmates, thrilling fights, inexplicably opening his eyes, and then inexplicably jumping out of a superhuman uncle and sneaking away ......

He knows that his experience tonight definitely involves the hidden side of this world, the monster that eats people's faces, the golden light coming out of his own body, and the man who single-handedly dried over the monster.

That man was not an ordinary person, and judging from the fact that he used the walkie-talkie to report back, there was bound to be a huge organization behind him, and this organization was probably hidden in the world, specializing in responding to this kind of bizarre events.
He saw the light on his body, and maybe even saw the image of his single monster kill, so he wanted to pull himself into the gang ......
To say that he was not curious about the hidden side at all would be a lie, he wanted to know what exactly he encountered tonight, and he also wanted to know what exactly happened to him, but he did not want to get involved in this vortex because of his curiosity.

There were some hidden secrets that, once known, could never be gotten out of.
He did not want to be what guardian of human heroes, he wanted to guard ......
Only this home of his own.
Soon, he sank into the dreamland.
......

The familiar mists descended once more.

Nine Wenlong in the dream world looked around and sighed helplessly, "Still won't let me go? Waking up to fight monsters and falling asleep to come knocking on the door, life is bitter ah ......"
He took two light steps, and soon the outline of a mental hospital appeared before his eyes.
On the ancient plaque on the right hand side, engraved with a line of big words.
  --Psychiatric Hospital of the Gods.
Standing in front of the main door, he grabbed behind him towards the circle in front of the door, and just the moment his fingertips touched the circle, the entire ground shook slightly!
  The surrounding mists suddenly tumbled.
  A face of confusion.
What the hell? I haven't even knocked yet, why is it starting to shake?
It wasn't like this before ah?
Suddenly, an idea crossed his mind like lightning.
Could it be because ...... he opened his eyes today?

Jiu Wen Long lowered his head and looked at this body in his dream world, his eyes gradually brightened up.
In the past, his body in the dream realm was translucent, as fragile as a wandering mist.
But today, his body had obviously solidified quite a bit, and although it was still not solid, it was no longer transparent.

He raised his head violently and looked at the door in front of him that had blocked him for five years, his gaze blazing more and more.
  Today ...... it might work!
He took a deep breath, clutched the ring in his hand, and slammed it hard against the door!
  "Clang-!"
The ancient sound of a bell came from within the asylum, several times louder than before...
The moment the bell rang, the entire mental hospital shook violently once again!

There was drama! Lin Qiye's eyes lit up.
  "Clang--!"
  "Clang--!!!"
  "Clang--!!!"
Lin Qiye didn't stop and knocked three more times consecutively, and the mental hospital shook as if it was an earthquake!
Finally, after the last knock, there was a loud bang inside the mental hospital, then everything fell silent again ......
One more knock? Suddenly, the door in front of him made a dull creaking sound and moved slowly.
  The door, opening.
  "Buzz-dong!"
Once the door was completely open, it revealed an ancient and dimly lit long corridor.
The floor of the long corridor was made up of some unknown material that emitted a faint fluorescent light, and there were burning light balls hanging on the surrounding walls, mysterious and bizarre.
Lin Qiye walked forward along this long corridor, and soon a fork in the road appeared, and above the fork in the road there was also a road sign filled with modernity.

"On the left is the ward, on the right is the activity area ......," Jiu Wenlong muttered as he looked at the road sign, "This arrangement, how come it's exactly the same as the mental hospital I lived in back then?"
He walked into the activity area first.

There weren't many rooms in the activity area, but everything that should be there was there, a multimedia room for watching TV and movies, a lounge for playing chess for entertainment, a study room for reading and studying ...... There was even a round open lawn inside the building, with sports equipment of all shapes and sizes on it.
"Sure enough it's exactly the same, what an odd dream." Lin Qiye frowned and shook his head in confusion.
After strolling through the activity area, he turned back towards the ward area on the other side.
When he reached the entrance to the ward area, he suddenly stopped in his tracks.

"It's ...... different here." Nine Wenlong muttered as he looked at the dark and monotonous one long corridor in front of him.

He clearly remembered that when he was originally in the Sunshine Mental Hospital, the wards had several floors, and the facilities, although not too advanced, were at least clean and tidy.
But this ward area, there was only one floor, and there were only six rooms.
The doors of these six rooms were painted with strange symbols and shapes, densely packed like some kind of seals, and just looking at them made one dizzy.

He forced his gaze away from the doors, stabilized his mind, and looked away.
At the top right of the ward, an ancient doorplate hung, and each room doorplate had a pattern on it that varied.

For ward number one, the one painted on the doorplate was a large black circle.

The door plate of ward two, on the other hand, had something that looked like a staff or a pen drawn on it.

He slowly walked down the long corridor until the sixth ward at the end, looking at these door signs still had no clue.
He looked at the eerie room doors in front of him and fell into a deep thought.

In this mental hospital in the dream world, only the ward area was different from the Sunshine Mental Hospital he remembered.
Then, were there really patients living within these wards?
Or is it really as the name of this mental hospital says, the ...... people living inside are gods?

Jiu Wen Long hesitated for a moment and slowly reached his hand towards the door handle of the sixth ward.

It was his dreamland acme, even if something went wrong, it wouldn't affect him too much; on the other hand, he had knocked on the door day in and day out for five years in order to enter this mental hospital, and he didn't want to leave just like that, head over heels.

And in his subconscious mind, he felt that perhaps in this mental hospital, there existed some other secrets related to himself?
Otherwise, why was the arrangement here exactly the same as the Sunshine Asylum he had lived in?
Jiu Wen Long's hand gradually approached, his fingertips gently touched the door handle, a slightly cool touch came.
There was no imagined repulsion or tingling, the hand just naturally gripped on top of the handle.
  He tugged hard!
The door of the room did not move.
He stood his body, and with all his strength, he tugged again!
  It still didn't move.
Giving up on the door to this room, he went to the door to the fifth ward and yanked on it.
  It still wouldn't open.
Fourth ward, third ward, second ward ......
Trying room by room, none of the doors would open until, finally, he came to the door of the first ward.

Holding the mentality that he was bound to fail, Jiu Wen Long yanked on the door of the first ward.
"Ka-ching-!"

A soft sound came from the doorknob, and the complex patterns and motifs engraved on the door of the room suddenly snapped, then gradually dissipated into the air.
Startled, he took several steps backward, staring dead ahead!
  The door, opened.
