There were the chirping of birds and rustling of leaves and there was a fresh scent of pine. The forest was basically a hum nature.

The once peaceful and quiet forest was soon disturbed by the galloping sounds of horses before two horses came in sight. One of the horses was black, while the other was white.

A young man who was putting on a black overall which was similar to the guzheng costume was riding on the black horse, while a young woman wearing white, rode on the white horse.

It turned out that the woman was chasing after the man, and after chasing him for a long time, she took out a small rubber slingshot together with a stone and targeted straight at his head.

The stone hit the back of the man's head with a force that was enough to make him fall off his horse and so he landed on the ground with a terrific thud.

The woman equally got off her own horse, with a victorious smirk plastered on her face. She then went to the man who was still on the ground. He was wincing in pain while touching the part of his head that got hit.

She threw a bottle which contained a greenish liquid at him and then said, "Do you actually think I would let you get away from me for the third time? I have said it before and I will say it again. You are a mistake that shouldn't exist in this world. So just accept your fate and do yourself and the world a favor by drinking this."

The man picked up the bottle and smiled evilly at the woman. "What's this?"

"It would give you a fast and painless death. So hurry up and drink it." She spoke with no emotions.

A villainous laughter from the man echoed in the forest after the woman had spoken, and when he was done laughing, he said, "I'm actually doing this world a favor by trying to stay alive. You already killed me twice and I still found my way back to this world. What makes you think it would be any different this time?"

The woman ignored all he said and replied, "You don't want to drink it? Then fine! I'll end you myself." And with a swift movement, she removed a dagger from the pocket of her gown.

Before the man could react, the dagger had already been plunged into the left part of his chest. He could only stare down at the dagger and his garment that was slowly getting soaked by his own blood.

He chuckled darkly before looking straight into the woman's emotionless eyes. His bright brown eyes were glistening with his unshed tears and disbelief. "You have just committed a great sin against the world for the third time. The more I die and resurrect, the less safe the world becomes. Don't you get it?"

"It wouldn't turn out that way if you don't fight back. Just make it easier for yourself by drinking the content of that bottle every time you resurrect. You have only six lives left."

The man shook his head as if he had given up on trying to make her see reasons. "Your stubbornness will be your doom, and sadly, the world would have to suffer along with you." After saying that, his body went limp, indicating that he had given up the ghost.

"CUT! And that's a wrap." A man's voice echoed in the forest, followed by a round of applause from a small group of people.

"Excellent acting! You both nailed it in just three takes." The man spoke again and went over to the young actor that was still lying on the ground and helped him up. "Especially you, Luca." He whispered.

"Thank you, director Jake." Luca politely said with a bright smile on his face. One would think he wasn't the one who had just acted evilly and emotional a few seconds ago.

The scene he and the other actor had acted was from 'Nine lives', the movie project he was currently working on.

The filming crew together with the actors that had forest related scenes to film had all gone to the forest. It was a safe and wild animal free forest, so the filming process went on without worries.

Two assistants from the filming crew immediately went to Luca and assisted him in removing the filming costume. They removed the dagger and a red liquid streamed down the the cloth he had on.

When the cloth was discarded, it turned out that he was putting on something that looked like a water bag on his chest. It was the bag that contained the red liquid, so it was actually the bag that got stabbed by the dagger during the filming.

After he was helped to change out of the costume, he went ahead to change into his own clothes.

Ray was Luca's agent, so he was also there with the filming crew. They were already set to leave when the least person they all expected to see, suddenly showed up. That person was Rose.

Her golden blonde hair was tied up in a bun and she wore very light clothes as the weather was a little bit harsh. She smiled beautifully and waved at the people there, greeting them politely and they did the same.

Luca was both shocked and excited to see her. She was never the type to take out time to visit a person. He was about to go over to her when director Jake beat him to it.

"Hey there, Miss Rose. Fancy seeing you here." Jake was all smiles as he welcomed her.

Rose smiled back at him and said in a joking manner, "I wish I could say the same, director Jake." and they both laughed.

"With that response, I guess you are not here to see me, talk more of giving me a positive feedback concerning what we last discussed." There was a bit of disappointment in his voice.

"I already thought about it and I'm not sure I want to adapt my novel into a movie." Rose honestly stated.

Jake wasn't the type to give up easily, so he still tried to convince her. "It's a good thing you said you are not sure because that means there's still room for you to change your mind. I'm assuring you that you wouldn't regret it. Adapting such a wonderful masterpiece into a movie would be a big hit, especially if we make Luca act the character of the male lead. So please have a rethink."

Rose sighed and said, "But.."

Jake didn't give her a chance to say what she wanted to say. "No buts. Tell me your response the next time we meet." Then after saying that, he left.

Luca who had been watching them finally walked up to her. "You are always nice to everyone except me." He made a playfully sad expression on his face while he spoke. "I was surprised to see you here thinking you came to see me, but it turned out that you came for director Jake."

Rose looked at him in an assessing manner before she then smiled at him and replied. "I'm actually here to see you."

It was true that she came to see him, but it was only so that she could confirm whether she was starting to grow feelings for him or not and when she looked at him, she didn't feel the same way she had felt the other day when she saw that photo. Her heartbeat was normal and there was no tingles or whatsoever.

Luca stopped acting like a sad little child and smirked seductively. "Oh really? Did you suddenly miss me?"

Rose looked him straight in the eyes as if searching for something, then she replied, "You might be right, or maybe I just feel like eating out with my best friend."

"Oh, you are taking me out for lunch? Like a date? That's so romantic." His eyes gleamed in excitement.

Rose rolled her eyes and grumbled, "I'm starting to regret it."

Luca knew better than to continue teasing her, so he said, "I'm sorry. I'll stop teasing. So where are you taking me?"

"Anywhere my spirit leads me." She answered and turned around to leave, with Luca following behind.

Ray then came from nowhere and obstructed their path with his arms stretched sideways. "And where do you think you are taking my artist to without my permission?"

Rose raised an amused brow as she looked at Ray, while Luca frowned and said, "Get out of the way, Ray. I'll hold you responsible if she decides to call the date off."

Ray raised his chin and replied, "So you are going to leave me here for her?"

"Get yourself a girlfriend and I assure you that you will be fine." Luca made a joke and gently nudged Ray out of the way.
