Beck
I'm swooning.
I had such a wonderful time with Jude both yesterday and today that I practically floated to the dining room for lunch on Sunday.
What a blast! And I got the opportunity to visit the famous waterfalls and see him in a skimpy swimsuit. I hate to sound like a thirsty bitch, but what can I say? I'm merely human.
Honestly, it made my day. The date felt so natural and he's so easy to talk to. Even though our backgrounds are completely different, he somehow relates to me and my story.
I really can't put into words how comfortable he makes me feel and he's so pleasant to be around. I'm genuinely in awe of him. Our chemistry together is off the charts and I'm so happy to have found someone like him in this pack.
I spent most of my lunch talking to my mom about our wonderful time earlier and she was happy for me. Now that we were able to have this time together, I can safely concentrate my energy in keeping my cousin company. I owe it to Kingsley to spend time with him as he has been lovely to me since I came here.
And I'm happy to do so. In fact, I'm more than thrilled to have options right now. Jude texted me all through the day asking me how I was doing. He is such a sweetheart that it's hard for me to believe that Quentin is his twin brother.
Talk about oil and water...
Kingsley came to pick me up in the afternoon for a sleepover since tomorrow is Labor Day and we don't have school. I didn't tell him about my time with Jude because I have a distinct impression that he likes him.
Though I wanted nothing more than to talk about Jude, I have to be aware of my cousin's feelings. I don't want to flaunt anything in his face and make him feel uncomfortable around me. However, he did know that I had visited his house so he asked me about it.
I don't want to lie, so I told him the truth: it was a nice friendly visit. I could tell he was jealous because he was never invited to the Alpha residence. I understand this is a sensitive subject, so I limited myself to answer what was asked of me.
But as soon as possible, I changed the topic and we talked about other things. It was great to spend time with him and his family is so wonderful. His mother is a great cook, so that's always a plus.
Outside of the occasional homophobic bullying, Kingsley actually does well in school. He doesn't have many friends, but he mostly thrives under the radar. I'm really glad that I can be a friend for him now and vice-versa.
My holiday weekend flew by and before I knew it, Tuesday arrived and another school day before me. I'm actually looking forward to school, if you can believe it. This way I get to see Jude.
"Good morning, Beck. How was the rest of your weekend?" - He greeted me as I walked past the front gate.
"It was great. I had the best time in this pack so far." - I replied, blushing a bit under his intense gaze. Jude was wearing jeans and a t-shirt that hugged his ripped torso just right.
"I'm glad to hear it. You're welcome in my house anytime." - He flirted and I swooned.
"Thanks, Jude. I had a wonderful time with you this weekend." - I said, getting flustered.
"Me too. It's been a while since I spoke with anyone other than Layla." - He admitted, nervously.
"I hope I was a suitable substitute." - I said, humbly.
"Of course. Especially now that she's dating, she won't have time for me like she used to." - He said, playfully.
The bell rang and we walked towards the classroom together. As soon as we stepped foot inside, all eyes were on us as if we were holding hands. Nevertheless, I kept to myself and found my seat quietly.
I don't know why Jalensky is giving me the evil eye right now and I couldn't care less. I didn't come here to give any homophobic asshole the time of day. But Kingsley noticed it too, not that he said anything to me. We greeted each other normally.
In between classes, Jude and I exchanged shy glances when we thought the other one wasn't looking. It was positively adorable. We didn't speak much throughout the day, but every time he smiled at me I melted. It was the most adorable smile I've ever seen.
Before we broke for lunch, I overheard him talking to Layla about her weekend.
"Now that you're dating your teammate, isn't it weird training with him?" - He inquired, curiously.
"Not really, no. It doesn't change anything for me. But I'd rather we don't spar together." - She replied, honestly. Blaine glanced at them from his seat, but said nothing.
"Speaking of which, have you ever noticed any of the boys getting 'too happy' when they're wrestling with you?" - He asked with a mischievous grin and she slapped his arm.
"Ew! No! I would sever their balls from their body if anyone gets a hard on while they're close to me. I'm not joking!" - She protested, looking disgusted at the notion.
"Yeah, I don't think my father would appreciate it if you incapacitated his precious successor of producing children." - Jude snickered.
"Fortunately, he doesn't look at me that way so I'll never have to worry about that." - She rolled her eyes in annoyance.
"And what about the other one?" - Jude inquired, cryptically.
"What other one?" - She asked, looking confused. Then, Jude turns his eye to the back of the classroom where Owen sits. The white boy blushed to the tone of pink as soon as he noticed the double stares.
"What part of severing their balls from their bodies did you not understand?" - She seethed, really annoyed at this line of questioning.
"We don't go to training to hump anyone, Jude! Stop trying to reduce us to cavemen! None of us are going to take advantage of the freak just because she's the only girl!" - Quentin interjected, peeved at this.
"SHE'S NOT A FREAK!" - Owen and Blaine shouted at the same time.
Literally the entire class turned to stare at them for the joint outburst. But Blaine is fuming as he glares at Owen. Layla is not looking pleased either, but she's mostly annoyed at Quentin.
"I cannot believe you waited until now to defend your little crush, Owen!" - Quentin exclaimed to his friend.
"Fuck you, Quentin! If you had treated her like a normal werewolf, maybe we could've had a chance. I never thought I'd say this but being your friend comes with a price." - He shot back, nervously. He then gathered his belongings and left the classroom.
Everyone was gobsmacked by his outburst, especially the twins and Layla. But whispers broke out among the senior class as a rift between the friends was apparent.
"Oh my Goddess! He really does like you!" - Jude gasped in shock.
"For years. In fact, ever since she came to this pack." - A male student from the wrestling team corroborated. Blaine was not happy about the sudden competition. He looked pressed just before he exited the room.
"Who would've guessed that now that you're months away from being mated you'd be coveted by two boys?" - Jude was sounding amused by this turn of events.
Layla glared at her best friend in silence.
As the school packed the cafeteria for lunch, the seniors were all talking about the earlier confrontation. At Quentin's table, Owen is nowhere to be found as he has lunch with his girlfriend and friends.
I eat my meal with Kingsley and even he is taken aback by the hot topic. Later that day, we returned to the classroom curious to see how all this would unfold. But I don't think Layla is giving Owen any chance to swoop in. If I were a betting man, I'd place my chips on Blaine.
"I'm sorry for the part I took in the way you were treated in this pack, Layla. I should have spoken up sooner, but unfortunately I was too afraid to stand out. My deepest apologies." - Owen told Layla as he stood in front of her inside the classroom.
She looked uncomfortable but put up a good front, as usual.
"It's fine, Owen. At this point, it's water under the bridge." - She spoke, awkwardly.
"I know I missed my chance, but I hope you'll be happy with whoever turns out to be your mate." - He stated, lowering his head and walking towards his seat in the back of the classroom.
Layla also took her seat as we witnessed this awkward exchange. Blaine was worried for her. Owen did not glance at Quentin, though their seats were close.
"I'm starting to think he secretly wants you to be mated to him." - Jude snickered, holding back a giggle as he turned to his best friend. Layla was not having it.
"I'm glad you're amused by this. I can't wait to see your face when you get mated to your crush's cousin instead of him." - She glared at him fiercely.
At this, Kingsley and I stared at each other with our eyebrows shot up in surprise.
"That was uncalled for. It's not my fault if you're being disputed by two hot guys." - Jude pouted.
"If you think YOU are not being disputed by two handsome boys, you're not paying attention." - She retorted with a sassy attitude. Kingsley and I blushed vigorously. Jude got flustered and turned on his seat away from her.
Damn! What a day! And it's only Tuesday. The week has just begun.
An awkwardness ensued as the teacher entered and relieved us from having to face each other and some uncomfortable truths.
After the class ended, I glanced over at Jude who still looked uncomfortable. Owen was still estranged from Quentin.
All of us avoided having to face each other for the remainder of the day. It wasn't until the next day that things looked better.
However, Owen still wasn't pleased with Quentin. But he kept to himself for the most part.
Jude approached me as I walked inside the school.
"Good morning, Beck. How are you doing?" - He greeted me with his beautiful smile.
"Good morning, Jude. I'm fine, have you patched things up with your best friend?" - I inquired, frowning a bit in worry.
"We didn't fight, she's just feisty. Anyway, I think she was exaggerating for dramatic purposes." - He snickered, mildly uncomfortable.
I stared at him in silence for a while. I'm the newest student here, but even I already picked up on the vibe between Kingsley and him. Not that I want to comment on that with either of them.
"Sure." - I pretended to agree with him.
We walked together to the classroom just like yesterday and still people stared at us as we entered. I don't know why though, it's not like we're holding hands...
Blaine and Layla were talking as we took our seats separately. I greeted my cousin and other classmates as did him. Owen was still closed off from his friend, but Quentin wasn't pushing.
Later that day, I approached Jude at the end of the third period.
"Hey, if ever you want to go back to the waterfalls, let me know. I had a blast there with you." - I suggested to him with a pleading gaze.
"I did too. Actually, I think I'm gonna take a page out of Blaine's book and take you to the country club. They have a massive pool, you're gonna love it!" - He surprised me. I couldn't help the giant smile take over my face at the prospect.
"Oh really? I'd love to go, if it's alright with you." - I spoke, bashfully.
"It'd be my pleasure! We can go on Saturday. I'll text you." - He grinned at me, charmingly. Honestly, every time he opens his mouth, I swoon.
"Great. It's a date." - I blurted, then blushed when people started whispering about us inside the busy classroom. Jude kept smiling at me as I gathered my stuff to leave.
"Saturday is my day with the car." - Quentin interjected, frowning at his brother.
"I'm aware of that, brother. I can ask mom to use hers." - He rolled his eyes in annoyance.
"Good luck! She is going to the mall with dad." - He retorted with a mischievous grin.
"So I'll ask dad's. You're not gonna rain on my parade!" - Jude snarled at him, unapologetically.
"I'm not raining on anything! You can go on your little date. Maybe this time you'll finally lose your virginity before you get mated to 'peasant'." - He provoked and Jude lost it.
"FUCK YOU, QUENTIN!" - He growled at his twin, eyes glowing in rage. The two of them would seem to go off on each other at any time. It's very uncomfortable.
I blushed from the second hand embarrassment and the implications made by the evil twin. Despite what he so callously implied, I know for a fact that our relationship - if I can call it that - is far away from that level of intimacy.
Not that I don't think about sex with Jude, I do. Especially after seeing him in speedo. But I'm not in any hurry to go that far as I'm still a virgin myself. I wouldn't mind kissing him and taking things further, but not like that.
Layla kissed Jude on the cheek and comforted him while they walked out of the classroom. Kingsley and I went to the gym for physical education. He's looking at me with a peculiar glance, but there's nothing I can do about me and Jude's relationship.
I'm not backing down from this. Even if all things point to him being Jude's mate. My Goddess, I do NOT look forward to that. But no one can escape the mate bond.
After the class ended, we entered the locker room to shower and change. As usual, I keep to myself and try my best to keep my eyes from wandering over the bodies on display. I don't want people to scent my pheromones and make a comment.
Though when Jude took off his shirt, I nearly drooled. Flashes of him inside the river with me played on my mind and I quickly averted my gaze away from him. Fortunately, the shower area has stalls so we don't get to see people completely naked unless they strip off before entering.
Even so, I concentrated on myself and what I was doing. Some time later, Kingsley and I went to the cafeteria for lunch break. I could tell he wanted to comment about my upcoming date, but steered clear of the subject. I'm not bringing it up either.
Back at the classroom, Jude came over to my desk before class started.
"I'm sorry for my brother's comments. That's not what I had in mind when I invited you to go to the country club." - He said, blushing.
"I know that, Jude. It 's fine. Your brother is lucky to be the son of who he is, otherwise no one would stand to be close to him. I genuinely don't know what Cassandra sees in him, to be honest." - I replied and he snorted at the surprise comment.
The students all gasped at my words while Quentin glared daggers at me.
"Me either. She's far too good for him!" - Jude agreed, laughing at this.
"I know, right? She's smart, polite and probably the second most beautiful girl of the entire senior class!" - I noted, getting everyone's attention, especially hers. Quentin is fuming at us.
"Who's the first?" - Jude inquired me, puzzled.
"Are you kidding me? Layla! If I were straight, I'be fighting off Blaine too, just like Owen." - I snickered.
After we made people laugh and feel uncomfortable from our talk, Jude went back to his seat.
"No one is fighting me off because she's not a prize to be won." - Blaine glared at me after a moment.
"Of course, Blaine. You're right, I just phrased it poorly. For what's worth, I'm rooting for you to be her mate. I think you two make a lovely couple." - I said, humbly. He smiled wide at me.
"Thanks. You were right too. She is the prettiest girl in the school." - He stated, glancing at Layla as he said that. She blushed under his piercing gaze.
I can't believe I have another date. Best day ever!
