- *hrm* *hrm* In simple terms, Excel is an energy that about 10% of people in the whole wide world can actually use. says Roderick after clearing his throat

- Only 10%!? says Enzo with surprise. And how are we supposed to know if we can use it!?

- Because I will be teaching you how to use Excel. answers Roderick

- That doesn't make sense. says Malick. We don't even know if we are a part of the 10% that can use Excel

- I guess I'll need to explain it in more detail. says Roderick as he rubs his chin. In the world, there is an energy that exists which is not visible to the eye. That energy is called Lethe

- Lethe? says Leas with his head tilted to the side. Then what is Excel?

- Lethe is the energy that exists within our world and Excel is the name of the energy that is born when a person absorbs Lethe in their body. says Roderick to the kids

Enzo raises his hand

- What? Roderick asks

- I am confused. says Enzo as he finally sits down on his ass. Why is the Lethe transforming into Excel when we absorb it?

- Nobody really knows. answers Roderick. Some say that Lethe is an energy too pure for our body to handle, while others say that Excel is the evolution of Lethe

- What do you think, Dad? asks Leas

- I, personally, believe that Lethe is simply too pure for humans to handle. says Roderick with his eye closed and his head nodding

- Why do you think that? asks Malick

- The first time I absorbed Lethe into my body, I felt like every single one of my muscles was being destroyed and that feeling lasted until the Lethe I absorbed transformed into Excel. explains Roderick

- Doesnt that mean that Lethe is too strong for the human body? asks Malick

- Not exactly. says Leas in a pensive manner. You could also see the pain as a process of evolution

- Anyway, if you guys want to help during the upcoming battle. says Roderick. Then, I want you three to create an Excel Heart. If you aren't able to create one by the time the war starts then I won't allow the person to participate in the battle

- And what exactly is an Excel Heart? asks Malick

- The Excel Heart is the container in which the Excel is kept in. explains Roderick. It's like a second heart except that its function is to absorb Lethe, turn it into Excel so that it can finally be used

- So, the first step is making an Excel Heart, huh? says Enzo with a smirk. That's gonna be really easy

- Actually, the first step is feeling Lethe. says Roderick with an exasperated expression. How will you create an Excel Heart if you don't even know how to feel and gather Lethe?

Enzo starts to laugh out loud

- Obviously, I already knew that! he says with a smirk after he stops laughing. I was testing you, Dad!

- Stop talking. says Roderick with nothing but seriousness

- Ok. quickly replies Enzo

Roderick sighs

- Like I said, the first step of your training is to feel Lethe. says Roderick. And there is only one way to do so

The three kids gulp loudly

- That is meditation. says Roderick

- Why aren't you talking? asks Roderick to the three kids

- Dad, could it be that you are talking about the thing where you sit with your legs crossed and do nothing? asks Leas with disbelief

Roderick nods

- That's right. he says. However, it'll be a little different than the meditation that you are used to do

- How different are we talking? Enzo asks with squinted eyes

- Not that different. says Roderick. All you will need to do is breathe in a certain way. Which will then sharpen your senses and allow you to feel Lethe

Leas raises his hand

- Go ahead. says Roderick

The three kids do the same

- Now, close your eyes. says Roderick as he does it

Malick, Leas, and Enzo close their eyes

- Now, I want you to take a deep breath and hold it in for 10 seconds. says Roderick

Roderick takes a deep breath and so do the kids. 10 seconds later, Roderick exhales slowly. The kid follows his example and does the same

- Repeat this breathing method while at the same time focusing on your 5 senses. says Roderick while getting up

The kids listen to Roderick and use the breathing method that Roderick showed them. Roderick stands behind them and closely looks at the three of them

- Enzo, you need to hold your breath in for a little longer. says Roderick. As for Malick, you need to take a deeper breath

Roderick looks at Leas and smiles

- Leas, keep doing what you are doing. says Roderick while sitting down

[A Few Minutes Later]

Enzo lay down on his back and Malick did the same. Looking at them closely, both of them are sweating profusely 

- *huff* *huff* This is actually pretty hard. says Malick while trying to catch his breath 

- How come *huff* *huff* I didn't feel *huff* anything? asks Enzo while trying to catch his breath. How long *huff* *huff* *huff* have we been doing this?

- It's only been three minutes. says Roderick with a smile

- ONLY THREE MINUTES!? Malick and Enzo both yells

- Shhhh. makes Roderick with a finger in front of his lips while pointing at Leas

Malick and Enzo turn around to look at Leas who is still meditating while sweating profusely. Leas was obviously having a hard time. He was not only sweating profusely, he also had a frown on his face as he was groaning and panting.

{Leas}

" Sharper! Sharper! As if it was a sword!"

Roderick's eyes widen as he quickly gets up in shock while looking at Leas

{Roderick}

" Impossible. He... Leas is absorbing Lethe. How is that even possible? All I taught him was how to focus and sharpen his senses. Not absorbing Lethe!"

- Are you ok, Dad? asks Enzo 

- I... I'm fine. says Roderick with a smile. Just a little surprised.

- How badly did he mess up? asks Enzo with a worried expression

- Leas, isn't messing up. says Malick with a frown and a tone of anger. He's probably doing something that Master didn't expect.

{Roderick}

" Master? That's new...but... It doesn't sound bad"

- IS THAT TRUE?! yells Enzo while looking at his father

- It is. says Roderick with a smile. Most people don't even last a minute the first time they meditate yet you two lasted three minutes and Leas is still going. The three of you are extremely talented

{Roderick}

" I don't think I should tell them that Leas is already quite a few steps ahead of them."

Enzo punches the ground with all the strength he has left, in other words, he punches the ground quite weakly

- dAMN IT! HE SAYS WITH FRUSTRATION. THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE! NO LITTLE BROTHER SHOULD BE BETTER THEN THEY'RE OLDER BROTHER. he finishes with a smile that is frankly, a bit creepy

Roderick looks at Enzo with pity

{Roderick}

Enzo quickly takes a meditation stance and closes his eyes

- I am the older brother. he says with a creepy smile. There is no little brother that is superior to their older brother in this whole wide world

Malick looks at Enzo with confusion, the he looks at Roderick. When Roderick notices Malick looking at him, he smiles awkwardly

- Should I tell my parents to make me a little brother? asks Malick

Roderick looks at Malick with confusion

- So, that I always stay motivated. says Malick with a smile. The secret to doing so is having a little sibling, right? he finishes with a look that someone who has made the discovery of the century would have

- Ha... hum.. sure. says Roderick with hesitation 

Malick gets into a meditation stance

- Just thinking about having a little brother that would surpass me is giving me energy. says Malick with his eyes closed

- Maybe they should be in school right now. mumbles Roderick with a serious frown
