(The Past... Continuation)
“Sir, where did you go? Your father was looking for you.” said someone from the Alexy family. Ki didn’t give a response as to where he was and walked past him. The member looked down and opened the door for Ki. Ki headed with a confident look on his face with one hand out holding Myla’s hand. Ki’s entrance with Myla behind him made the youngest son angry.
“Sir, that is my future wife. What are you doing with her” asked the youngest son, trying to hold back his anger. Ki does a small bow towards his father then takes a seat. With Myla by his side, he waits for his father to stop speaking before talking.
Everyone goes back to what they were doing, the youngest still hasn’t gotten a response and is still standing up from the shock. Ki’s father looks at the youngest, but he has no clue what’s going on. His older brother pulled his arm really hard so that he was now seated. The older brother apologizes for his younger siblings' behavior. Their father also apologizes for his children's behavior. Ki’s father doesn’t say anything and just has a stern look on his face.
The meeting continued as planned and Myla was standing by Ki’s side without saying anything and just was listening to the conversation that went on. Finally, after a 1hr and a half pass, Ki asks “Can everyone leave but My father and the boss of this family.”
Ki’s father nodded and everyone paid their respects and left. The youngest son whispers to his father “Father, she is my wife” before leaving. Ki tells Myla to wait outside for him, she pays her respects and heads outside and waits for Ki. Everyone now is gone you could feel the tension between Ki and the head of this family. Meanwhile, Ki’s father is quiet but his deadly aura says otherwise.
“Father, I want Myla to be my wife,” says Ki. The head member stays quiet. “She is a slave that was sold off by her parents to be someone else's wife, do you still want her?” asked Ki’s father. “Yes, she is now mine, my slave. I would like to buy her from this family, may I?” asked Ki, only looking at his father.
The father looks into Ki’s eyes and nods then gets up and says “My son will stay here and get her contract ready so he can buy it off you. Make sure to get everything done before you come back and that she knows her place.” The head boss says “Of course, SIR.” he bows and keeps the bow until Ki’s father leaves.
“Yes, father. See you soon” says Ki in a thankful tone. The head boss says “MEN COME IN!” the men rush back in and await his orders. Myla saw Ki’s father heading out. The father’s men all line up and make a path for him to walk from to his car. He stops and glances at Myla and softly turns to one of his men and tells him something. He continues walking. Myla is unsure if she should head in or stay. The man who Ki’s father talked to goes close to her and waits alongside her.
“Bring my sons here and the girl’s contract. Make sure to let them know to be on their BEST behavior” said the head member. Ki sits down at the head of the table and waits for them to bring it here. “Can someone bring her here?” Ki asks. The men look at each other and choose the one to go. They both stay waiting for everyone who needs to be there to come.
After some time passes…
The youngest rushes in and his brother is right behind him grabbing onto his wrist. “I bought her, she is mine and I am her owner” angrily the youngest says. His father says nothing to support or not to support. He just stays silent. Ki waits until he sees Myla coming in to give a response.
“There is something about selling and buying. And it's called re-selling. You are going to re-sell her to me. I will be her owner, her rightful owner.” Ki’s said. Myla understands what he is saying. That, being with Ki is no different than being with the youngest because with both she’s a slave. The only difference is who will be her owner, the man she has known since she was a child, or the Nation of Fia’s head family’s son. A guy, who she just met, her new owner, no… her rightful owner.
The father looks at his son with a distasteful look and asks to be handed the contract. He doesn’t even look at it, he just wants this to be over with and doesn’t understand what makes her special that his son and his boss’s son are at war with each other. He politely hands the papers to Ki and sits back down waiting for this day to be over with.
Ki carefully looks at the contract and the other paperwork, as if he just put on a pair of glasses and has a hand on his chin. An intellectual one might say, but not really. In Myla’s eyes it’s more like, let's see how much I have to spend and if you're really worth it. Ki notices something while looking at the papers.
“Where is her birth certificate?” asked Ki. He looks at the youngest son and waits for an answer. “Must have lost-” tried saying the youngest but was interrupted by his father. “Young sir, why don’t you head outside and I will have those papers ready for you,” he says. He orders everyone out except his youngest son. “Very well, don’t keep me waiting,” Ki responded. Everyone went outside, the oldest went to his brother’s room with some men. Ki sees the man whom his father ordered to stay. He goes and talks with him. Myla is left alone again but with time she follows Ki. Ki notices and he nods his head at her. Myla stops following, turns around, and waits. He smiles and walks a bit more with the man. They start discussing things with each other.
While this is going on the father whips out his belt and starts taking his anger out on his son.
Whipping sounds…
Sounds of an old man out of breath…
Sounds of a man crying and whimpering like a child…
Drip… drip…
Drip… blood droplets falling when he raises the belt up and down…
The oldest brother comes back with papers in his hand, walks towards the door and stops for a moment deciding on whether or not he should either knock or rush in. But knowing how his father's rage is he might not hear the knocks. So he rushes with some men to help.
“Father, I have the missing papers, can I have the others to give to young sir?” asked the oldest as he was holding his father back. He and the floors and walls and furniture were covered red. His blood was everywhere. Some drops fell on the papers as well. The father stopped and had a seat. “Take him to see a doctor and get some maids in here to clear up the place,” the head member said to his men. He gave a small nod to his oldest, giving him permission to do what he asked. He grabs a paper and a pen from a drawer, writes something down, folds it, and hands it to his oldest.
The oldest quickly organized everything and wiped some red on the paper off but ended up smudging it around. He heads out and looks for Ki. Ki and the man his father told to stay with him have ended their conversation and are about to head to where Myla was left. The oldest sees him and Ki sees him. Both meet and start talking.
“I am sorry for my family’s behavior, young sir. Here you will find all the necessary papers that are needed to own her sir,” said the oldest. Ki sees the blood and can’t help but smile and looks at the man next to him. Suggesting that he grabs and looks over the papers. The oldest hands him a folded paper covered in blood, so much so that the pen ink is bleeding in with the blood. He grabs the hands of the oldest and uses them as a puppet to unfold the paper. The oldest didn’t fight it and understood what he was doing.
He smiles and shows it to the man while still grabbing onto the oldest hands. Ki lets go and the man hands him a briefcase. Which he hands to the oldest. “Here is everything your father needs. And sure that we don’t hear about this situation again. Oh, and tell your brother once he gets better that she is mine. But only mention her once he is all better. Understand?” Ki said. The oldest agreed and headed off to see his father.
Ki tells the man to get the car ready. Ki looks at Myla and she comes to him. Ki smiles. “You are getting better and understanding what my looks are saying,” said Ki. Myla says nothing and waits alongside Ki for the car. The breeze blows so strongly that Myla has to hold herself tightly or else she would have been blown away. Which in hindsight wouldn’t be the worst thing to occur. Ki looks at her and starts to find her pretty, but he tries his best not to show it. The car finally comes to pick them up. They get in, the ride is pretty silent till Myla speaks.
“What now?” asks Myla. “Well first you will be taking classes and given tests and if you pass we will see where to put you,” says Ki. “I thought I was to marry you?” questioningly asks Myla. “Well, first I have to see if you are worthy of becoming something for me or keep you on as a lowly maid or servant. You might even be lent out to his family or others. It all depends on how well you do. Or you pass but I get bored of you and keep you on as a personal maid of mine. Who knows what can happen during your training?” said Ki.
