His voice boomed as he spoke. It felt like I was standing in the presence of one of the Gods. Even so, I found my voice.
"The mountain king? G-Godkiller? Blood of Zalaar? What is going on? what do you want with me?" I ask him.
"It is as I told you, blood of Zalaar. You seem interesting." The mountain king spoke.
"Interesting in what way? And what is this lineage you spoke of?" I ask, my voice quivering. However, not from fear. Maybe it was his presence or from a strange sense of admiration.
"You in your entirety Blood of Zalaar. Your lineage, your history that is to come, your re ambition and the lineage I spoke of is one you already know.." The mountain king says.
"The sword?" I ask him.
"That sword is the lineage of what I once wielded. The lineage you now hold." He tells me.
"Oh, if you want it back then I will give it to you. It’s just that my grandpa-"
"Why would I want it back when It had finally arrived in your hands. I have no need for it, and I want someone like you to wield it." He cuts me of.
"Someone like me?" I ask.
"Someone interesting." The mountain king responds.
"I still don’t know what you find so interesting about me?" I ask almost getting a tad annoyed at his unclear answers.
"And you might never know. I have been told I have an unusual way to think of the world." The mountain king says with a chuckle.
I want to snap back at him for not giving me any straight answers but at the same time I feel like I don’t want to know. That I didn't know what this thing though was interesting. How did he know me? Why did he want me to have his sword? What was his sword? What was he?
"You mentioned something about my ambition. Why is that interesting? And what did you mean by my history yet to come?" I ask against my better judgment.
"It means what I mean. I simply want to witness you and your history that is to come. However, for me to be sure you are ready to use my lineage I want to hear your ambition. The one thing I don't know about you blood of Zalaar. I want to hear what drives you, your dream." He says.
"My dream?"
I stood there for a moment unsure what to say. What was it that drove me to want to explore the world.
"I-I don’t know." I tell him.
"Lies. There is no soul in this world who does not have a fire that drives them. You want to explore the world, no? Then what is it made you want to see the world? Why do you want to see the world? What do you want to find out in the world?" the mountain king asks me.
I stand quiet yet again. I wanted to see the world because I had lived in the forest all my life. I wanted to know if it was like the stories I had been told. I wanted to explore because I knew the warriors from the fairy tales got stronger out in the world. Warriors like Ezekiel. I want to be powerful like Ezekiel, like the kings. I want everyone to be safe. I want to help.
"I think I know. I want to be strong, and I want to help. Be a help against people like Uranos. I want to be king." I say.
"King? What a greedy one you are. So, you want kingship because of power? Status?" The mountain king asks.
"No. I want to find it. Even though it's just a fairy tale I want to find the obelisk at the end of the world. I want to be king of the world." I tell him. My tone is more direct.
"So, you want to find the throne of thrones. That sure is a reason and a reason I like. I accept that ambition. What would you change with that power?" The mountain king asks.
"Change?" I ask him a bit confused.
"Did you not know? The power of the obelisk at the end of the world will grant the king a decree. A decree that will make the king change the world to their wish. So,f what would want to change?"
I stay quiet.
"Or on the other hand. I don’t want to know. It will more of a surprise hear it then then now." the mountain king says with chuckle.
"Anyway, I will give you my sword blood of Zalaar. But I want to ask for something in return." The mountain king says.
"Isn’t observing enough?" I say trying to be funny.
"I guess a giant’s pride can’t be beat, but no. I only ask you to be strong and one day meet me. That is all I ask of you." He says.
"Really? That’s all you want? I almost thought you were going to ask for my firstborn or something?"
The mountain king lets out a low echoing laugh.
He then sits there as the room goes quiet. His form still being shrouded in darkness. Until eventually he says.
"Now. I will give you my blade and the knowledge it keeps. However, be warned that what happens today will forever be sin. Let me see how interesting of a man you will be! Find me! Arameth Zalaar!" The mountain king said, his voice a combination of stoic and excitement.
Then it all went dark again. I felt how my body was tossed away, back to the chaos in Berkton. I was back to where I stood. My or I guess the mountain king’s sword raised up to strike down and kill the cloaked man who laid before me. I felt how my arms slowly started to fall as everything seemed to return back to motion.
As everything started to gain back its motion, a stream of words flew into my head. I felt how my pressure waves started to be redirected without my doing. As the string of information became clearer three incantations are formed in my mind and without warning my mouth spoke on its own.
"Grass Cutter."
As my sword struck down cleaving the cloaked man's skull, I could see the pressure waves in front of me act strange. They moved in unison exactly two and a half meters forward, exactly where the cloaked figure with a bow was standing, and in the motion of a whip collided with the man. This created another strike downward in the air hitting the man. A gash now running down his chest.
"Ah fuck!" The cloaked man yells out in pain.
My eyes are slowly move down to see the lifeless body of the man who had my sword stuck in his skull. My breathing became faster and more panicked by the sight of the man I had just killed.
"I-I killed him."
My vision starts to become blurry as I start to go into a panic. Not noticing the other man reading his bow and preparing to fire another arrow at me. My hand starts to shake, and I feel how my legs start to give in.
"Focus." A sharp ghastly voice familiar to that of the mountain king echoes in my mind.
It temporarily wakes me up to my surroundings just in time to grab onto my sword and step to the side pulling it out of the dead man's skull. I feel how the arrow tears through the left side of my stomach making me scream out in pain. Even though it hurts I start running up to the cloaked man with the bow and raise my sword for another attack.
I replicate how my pressure waves moved towards the sword and feel how the three incantations return me. As I do...
"Windbreaker"
As I swing my sword across his chest, I see how two other cuts are being formed simultaneously. Like my attack was split into three with an equal amount of force.
As my blade cuts three different paths through the man's flesh, he falls down, covering his throat as he starts to bleed out. As I stand there I hear the faint sounds of church bells. However as soon as I notice them they fade away. Until I hear another sound.
"Benjamin!" The cloaked woman shouts in a rage as she starts to run at me, her sword raised to attack.
Taking her sloppy form as she runs at me full of rage, I raise my sword and run towards her. I hold the blade pointed towards her and I push it forward. I feel how it pierces her flesh, how there is slight resistance as the sword is now pierced through her chest.
"Y-you fucking devil." the woman says, coughing blood.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." I say my hands shaking as I realize what I had done.
The woman falls down, Lifeless. The tip of my sword still protruded in her chest.
I had killed them. But it was because they were going to kill me. If I didn't defend myself, I was dead. I had to... Right? It was because I didn't want to die. Because I wanted to live. But they were still people. But so am I. I-I...
My thoughts are interrupted by another cloaked figure running out of the panicked crowed with a knife in hand. I didn't have time to move before she was right in front of me. Her knife cuts into me. Leaving a long gash across my stomach. She then grabs my shoulder and goes to stab me again.
However, before she can I hear.
"Open gate. Loose cannon, mighty blood. Holy might. Brazen bull. IGNUS CHANON."
From out of nowhere a blazing arrow of fire engulfs the cloaked woman burning her. I feel how the fire gracefully burns the outer parts of my skins and just as it appeared the burning arrow disappears. along with the woman who once stood in front of me.
The only remnants of her being there was her left hand that was still holding on to me.
I look to where the spell came from to see Sebastian looking back at me holding out his hand. Seeing that he hit he goes back to his fight. But he wasn't fighting Victor.
"Arameth!" I heard someone yell from behind me.
I look back to see my mother moving her way through the panicking crowd by flexibly jumping or maneuvering around people. I see that she holds a spear in her hand that she spins around herself in a way to not hit anyone who wasn’t deliberately attacking her. Once she noticed a Uranos member she would run towards them and jump or move around them until she ended up behind where she would stab them with the spear. Sometimes she would even keep the stabbed person on the spear running around with it like a shield. She moved in speeds I couldn’t fathom. She quickly jumped great distances in seconds. She spun and slide on the ground past swarms of Uranos members cutting them down as she moved.
I start to move but I immediately stop as I feel a pain in my stomach.
I slowly moved my hand to where I was struck, noticing blood, and starting to feel the pain slip in I fall down.
Taking advantage of this I saw how someone moved up to me to finish the job. However, they were struck down by log spike being thrown at them from far away. I couldn’t see anyone in the area who threw it, but I had a feeling I knew who it was.
"Father." I said with a tiered breath.
As I laid there feeling my body starting to tear out from my wounds. The reality of what has happened starts to set in. Combined by the weird feeling I got after meeting the mountain king, I start to feel how my vision starts to fade. Next thing I know I am staring up to the sky, my body feeling cold as my vision becomes blurry and dark.
"Arameth! Son can...you hear m..e. F...ck! Ar..m. G..et.... Speaker! A...am..h! So-" I hear a voice call out for me as my vision becomes black.
