An hour later, we've finished our meal and are engaged in an admittedly lively conversation. 

"Wow, you were right. I can’t say I’ve ever had curry for breakfast, but I liked it. I kind of want to go and get the recipe from the chef..."

I say this, rubbing my tummy lightly. That curry was delicious, with just the right amount of spice and creaminess too.  

Isamu, who said he is well-acquainted with the chef due to frequent visits, responds, "Good luck with that. I doubt Tetsuo would give up his Asa Curry recipe.."

Isabelle chimes in,"Even if YOU asked him?" 

"Haha, ESPECIALLY.” Isamu quips, “ I'm an inventor first and foremost, and I doubt he'd be too thrilled if I went and asked him for culinary tips."

Adam, with a hint of pride, interjects, "It's not like you of all people need cooking tips, Mr. Wonder Chef."

Curious, I inquire, "Oh? Is Isamu good at cooking too?" I can’t help but wonder, given what I’ve gotten from his personality thus far. But I’ve been surprised before…

Isamu scratches his cheek in embarrassment, "I don't know about that but I'm pretty confident in my culinary abilities. You should come over for dinner some time. We'd love to have you."

Call me curious. "Heh, maybe I'll take you up on that, Isamu."

Isabelle playfully insists, "You'd better."

I express my gratitude, "Thanks again for inviting me out for Brunch. I appreciate it." 

This has actually been quite fun despite my fuck up earlier.  I actually feel pretty comfortable around these guys… Which is a first since January... I guess I can see why Isabelle planned this to coax me out of the house.

I really don’t deserve her as a sister…

Isamu decides to be candid, "Not a problem. Although you should thank your sister, this was her uhm… “scheme"

Wow, Isamu. Just come out and admit it, why don’t you? 

“Yeah I figured as much. I’ll forgive you though as the food was amazing.”

My cheeky sister remarks, “Oh, so I just need to bribe you with food then, noted.” wearing a sly smile.

I feign annoyance, replying, “Don’t push your luck, lil’ sis.”

Adam stands up, stretching his legs. "Does anyone want a drink? I'm gonna go to the bar.” 

Looks like Ed has quickly decided, "Beer please bro."

Isamu adds, "Another coffee please, I'm driving."

"Sure. Isabelle, Sara?"

It looks like Isabelle and I are still contemplating.

Making up my mind, I reply, “Orange juice please, if that’s alright?”

Adam generously offers, “Don’t worry about it; it's on me.” He beams a smile at me, “ What about you Isabelle?”

Isabelle hesitates, unsure of her choice, and I see an opportunity. 

With a devious smile forming on my lips, I suggest, “Well, just go to the bar with him and see if there’s anything you like.”

Almost at a loss for words, I suppose mostly from shock, she responds, "Er... okay. Come on then, Adam."

"Right. Sure." Adam waits for Isabelle to rise and head to the door, and as they exit the room, I lean my forearm on the table and set my scheme into motion.
