"Thanks," Niika said. She ran up to Ash and threw her arms around him. He gently pecked her on the forehead.
"How much cash did you get?" Keiko asked Eight.
"About twelve thousand," Eight said.
"Great, that's more than enough," Keiko said. "Should we look for headgear, tops, shoes, or weapons first?"
"Let's do weapons last," Eight said.
"Alright, we'll start with headgear," Keiko said.
"You two going to get gear?" Rider asked.
"Yeah," Keiko said. "See you in a bit."
"See ya!" Niika called out. "We're going to get some food."
"Kay!" Keiko said. Then she left the main square to find the headgear shop. Eight followed.
As Keiko opened the door, she was greeted by a sea slug figure, who waved at them. "Hello!" She said.
"Nice to see you, Flow," Keiko said. "And you too, Craymond."
"Howdy, young fellow!" A small shrimp resting on top of Flow's head said.
"What are you looking for today?" Flow said.
"Eight here is looking for some new clothes," Keiko said. Then to Eight, she said, "Look around for something you like."
After a few minutes, Eight walked up to Keiko holding a small box.
Keiko read the label. "Fake Contacts?" Eight nodded. "Alright." Eight purchased the contacts and then put them on.
"Next we go to clothing, right?" Eight asked.
"Yep!" Keiko said. "Come on!" The pair left Headspace and entered the clothing shop. There, Eight bought the Zink LS and then left. They went into the shoe shop, where she bought the Red Slip-Ons.
"What weapon do you want to get?" Keiko asked.
"I like the splatlings," Eight said. "I want to get the heavy splatling or the deco version."
"The deco is better," Keiko said. "So let's get you that one."
"Ok," Eight said. She opened the doors of the weapons shop, Ammo Knights.
"Hello there!" Sheldon, the owner, said. "What are you looking for today?"
"She's looking for the Heavy Splatling Deco," Keiko said.
"Alright, let me get that for you," Sheldon said. He dashed into the back of the shop to get the weapon. After a bit, he returned holding a large box. He set it on the counter and checked the label. "That'll be 9,600," he said. Eight handed Sheldon the cash, and he gave her the box.
"Thanks for doing business with Ammo Knights," Sheldon said.
After Keiko and Eight left the shop, Keiko held out a hand for a high-five. "Nice! You got your first weapon!" Eight slapped Keiko's hand with her own.
"You got what you wanted?" Rider asked Eight and Keiko as they approached a table where he, Niika, and Ash were eating.
"Yep!" Keiko said.
"Well, Niika and I were wondering if you two would want to join us for a Grizzco shift," Rider said.
"I'm up for it," Keiko said. "What about you, Eight?"
"I don't know what it is, but sure," Eight said.
"I'll explain it to you when we do it," Keiko said. "Ash, you don't want to go?"
"Never again," Ash said, slouching down in his chair. "Not after that last time."
"What happened?" Eight asked. Ash slumped even farther in his chair and huffed.
"The last time he worked a shift, he got injured," Niika said. "That's why he wears an eyepatch. Hey, Ash, show her."
"No," Ash said.
"Oh, come on," Niika said. "Don't be such a big baby."
"No," Ash said. "Besides, I'm going over to my sister's house in a bit."
"Fine, whatever," Niika said. "Alright, let's go!" Niika bounded over to the grizzco building. Rider, Keiko, and Eight followed.
Eight is an octoling who just escaped from the metro. On the surface, she meets a kind inkling named Keiko, who decides to show her the ropes of life in Inkopolis.
When Eight needs a place to stay, Keiko, who needs to get a roommate to help with rent anyways, decides to let her stay, and the two become friends quickly.
But the return of sanitization, and Keiko's ties to it, gives the pair a reason to leave. They move to the new town of Splatsville
