"No, no, no, no, no!" Keiko said. She held her hands above the right side of her face, trying to stop the flow of ink.
It dripped through her fingers, forming a pool around her. She held a hand in front of her face watching as her skin faded to the same cyan-green color as sanitized octolings.
"No. . . Please no. . ."
Then she woke up.
"Are you okay?" Eight asked. "You've been restless this whole time."
"I'm fine," Keiko said. "Just a nightmare."
"Just a nightmare?" Eight asked. "Really?"
"Yes," Keiko said. "Just a nightmare. What time is it?"
"Two pm," Eight said. "You've been asleep for almost a full day."
"WHAT!?" Keiko said. "I've been asleep for. . ."
"Yep," Eight said.
"How did that happen?" Keiko asked.
"Well, remember when we were in Octo Canyon?" Eight asked.
Eight is an octoling who just escaped from the metro. On the surface, she meets a kind inkling named Keiko, who decides to show her the ropes of life in Inkopolis.
When Eight needs a place to stay, Keiko, who needs to get a roommate to help with rent anyways, decides to let her stay, and the two become friends quickly.
But the return of sanitization, and Keiko's ties to it, gives the pair a reason to leave. They move to the new town of Splatsville
