Lord, I must apologise and repent

I neglected the cross that hung around my neck,

My mind filled with sweet dreams of book deals or a cheque

I pushed relentlessly without considering the door'd open in Your time

Chained to my desk, overwhelmed of all that had to be done

Holding the burden was impossible and I wanted to run

Thankfully, the weight was lifted when I called upon His name

I wanted to follow You without waiting to listen to You

Oh, how could I have been such a fool

Jesus Christ, You took such immense suffering for Your love for all of us

I cannot imagine the pain or the infinite love You felt to not just be silent, but to pray for those who

harmed You.

You are great, You are King and I want my will to not be done but for Your will to be done.

Since it is perfect and I will learn more about that will in my time with the Bible
