Daganzo looked at the framed glass panes ceiling in the center of the building’s ceiling, showing a night sky view. Daganzo’s expression changed in amazement as he thought.
“No matter how often I come to this building, I never get bored.”
Daganzo walked towards one of the wide corridors. Daganzo walked along the wide corridor with glossy patterns. This corridor looks dim and is lit by a row of wall lamps on the right and left. Not long after, Daganzo arrived before black wooden double doors with beautiful carved patterns. Beside this door is a metal board that says “Prime Minister Office,” Daganzo then opened it and walked into the office.
Inside the office is a spacious room in a classic modern style that extends to the right and left, with a group of sofas in the middle of the room consisting of a long sofa, a single sofa, a short table, and a floor lamp. The ceiling of this room is decorated with beautiful, sturdy carvings. A row of framed glass panes at one side of the room shows a beautiful night view of the city. A middle-aged man wearing a long-sleeved white shirt, a tie, a gray waistcoat, trousers, and loafers who is the Prime Minister of the Wizards Government of Spain stood facing a row of framed glass panes while enjoying the view before him. Daganzo walked up to this man from behind, and after getting close enough, Daganzo stopped in his tracks and stood where he was.
“You called me, Mr. Prime Minister?”
The prime minister turned around and faced Daganzo, then smiled.
“Yes, Daganzo. Please have a seat.”
The prime minister invited Daganzo to sit on one of the groups of couches near a row of framed glass panes in this room. The prime minister sat on a single couch, and Daganzo sat on a long couch nearby.
The prime minister looked at Daganzo with a curious expression.
“How about your assignment this time?”
Daganzo was slightly surprised.
“We failed to arrest the intruder, but we managed to find something new in our investigation; our other-dimensional presence detection device experienced failure while pursuing the target.”
The Prime Minister was slightly surprised.
“Experiencing failure?
Daganzo nodded.
“Right, our detection device just spinning and finally went off.”
The prime minister crossed his arms.
“This is indeed strange; this is the first time there has been a failure case of that device. We must find the cause immediately.”
Daganzo nodded. The Prime Minister resumed talking.
“There’s still a lot we don’t know about this event of connected universes.”
Daganzo nodded.
“It’s all because of the artifact we found after the war: the Book of Dimensional Magic.”
The prime minister nodded.
“You’re right; the spell in that book is so powerful that we don’t know how to undo it yet.”
Daganzo nodded. The Prime minister resumed talking.
“I have checked your on-duty progress, and the results are excellent. Therefore, I want to promote you to join the Scout Division.”
Daganzo was surprised; he then looked slightly awkward.
“Why did you suddenly offer me the position of Scout Division, sir?”
The Prime Minister’s expression changed in astonishment.
“You don’t want it?”
Daganzo was surprised.
“I’m very grateful, Mr. Prime Minister; I was just surprised by this sudden offer.”
The prime minister smiled.
“The Scout Division member is the highest position in our wizards’ department of defense, tasked with scouting Second Earth. There are not many people who are suitable to be part of it because of its danger level. Other than the Researcher Division, only Scout Division are allowed to use the Book of Dimensional Magic.”
Daganzo’s expression changed to surprise; he then smiled.
“That’s why many people want this position, sir.”
The prime minister nodded.
“Then we have agreed. You will start your duty as a Scout Division member tomorrow.”
They stood facing each other and shook hands.
“You can take a copy of the Book of Dimensional Magic in the restricted section of the Storage Room. I have ordered people to greet you if you come.”
Daganzo smiled and nodded.
“Okay, sir. Then I’ll excuse myself.”
The prime minister smiled.
“Of course, Daganzo.”
Daganzo then walked out of the room.
Daganzo walked back into the elevator located in the center part of the building and pressed the button for the 30th floor, where the Storage Room in question was located. Arriving at the 30th floor, Daganzo walked out of the elevator and then walked towards one of the wide corridors before him. Daganzo walked along the wide corridor until he finally arrived at a tall, black wooden double door with solid carvings and gold door handles, with a metal board beside it that read “Storage Room for the Items of Black Magic.” Daganzo opened this door and walked into the room.
Back to some time before. In another place, Furano, who had just helped Alton, was now walking on the sidewalk at the side of the road in a quiet atmosphere, without any pedestrians and vehicles rarely passed by, lit by lamp posts and lights from the buildings on her right and left. Not long after, Furano’s smartphone rang; she took her smartphone from her cloak’s inner pocket. On the smartphone screen, it says “Messenger” as the contact name who called her. Furano was surprised and immediately answered this call and a woman’s voice was heard.
“What about your scout mission?”
Furano answered.
“I’m working on it. I’m still trying to adjust to the circumstances in here.”
The messenger answered.
“Okay, report to me immediately if anything happens.”
They then ended their respective calls. Furano put her smartphone back into her cloak’s inner pocket while slightly lost in thought.
“Third Earth, where I come from, gave me orders to scout the First Earth. Scout personnel will be accompanied by a Messenger, who relays messages from me to Third Earth. Because communication between Earths in different universes cannot yet be carried out, the messenger is in charge of entering and exiting the open magic gate as a communication link. Once every day, towards the end of the day, the messenger will ask about my investigation report if I don’t make a report. I almost forgot that I also have to carry out my duties as part of the Gunslinger Wizards...”
Furano took out a small notebook from her cloak’s inner pocket and looked through it as she thought.
“I have to look for wizards in Japan where my gateway to this earth is located because the Gunslinger Wizards government is worried about intruders from First Earth.”
Furano put her notebook back into her cloak’s inner pocket. Furano looked around, then sat on a nearby bench. Furano’s expression turned curious.
“Open status information.”
A black panel with white writing then appeared before Furano:
[*User’s Status] [Skill List]

[Unallocated points: 0 (*Can be used to increase user’s status points)]
[Minimize]
Furano watched the black panel with white writing before her, and her expression changed in astonishment.
“Somehow, these numbers represent me and will affect me if the points increase.”
Furano tried to feel her body condition and didn’t feel anything strange.
“I guess this is like a measure of results of physical and ability training?”
There was something else that caught Furano’s attention on this panel; she then touched the words [Skill List], and the display on the black panel in front of her changed.
[User’s Status] [*Skill List]
[Skills (Passive):
- Unlimited Mana (lvl. None): The user is detected by the system as a wizard, allowing the user to cast magic spells at any number of times without requiring mana.]
Skills (Active):
- None]
[Minimize]
Furano smiled while holding back laughter.
“This unlimited mana skill doesn’t seem to need to be included in the skill list.”
Furano appeared to realize something.
“I’m curious; what is the user’s status of the other Black Cloak members....”
Furano’s expression turned curious, and then she walked away from here. “Ding!” Furano had only taken a few steps when she suddenly heard a sound like a smartphone notification, which was followed by the appearance of a black panel that floated before her and showed white writing. Furano stopped in her tracks and read this panel.
[The System detected an embedded command to investigate the Multiverse. Please set preferences for the quest you want to get]
Furano’s expression looked familiar with this writing as she read this message.
“Multiverse? This is like what my organization is currently investigating.”
Furano touched this white writing, and the display on the black panel changed:
[System Message*]
[Settings: Please set quest preferences (Choose one).]
[1. To investigate the Multiverse.]
[2. Random quest (More quests are available, but the progress does not help much in your investigation).]
