Chapter 4

I get on the bus.

Sit down and go into my contacts app.

I stare at the words Mary

I press on the name and after her name I put ❤️

I blush.

Someone sits next to me.

I turn and it’s a boy.

“Do you mind if I sit here?” He says.

“Sure” I say with a smile.

I’m not that rude. I say to myself.

The bus stops moving.

It’s my house.

I get out of the bus and run to my door.

I open the door. The hallway is empty.

I tiptoe up stairs to my bedroom. Looking to see if anyone would pop out like they do in movies.

No one is there,

I shut the door and get ready to go out the window.

I hear a knock on the door.

I turn my head, facing the door.

The door starts to bang.

My eyes widen, my heart pounds.

The door knob wiggles.

I throw a rope into the tree and put pillows in my bed sheets to make it look like it’s me. 

The door opens and I jump out the window.

I grab the rope once I’m the floor and hide behind the tree.

“Hello?” I hear a voice.

I turn my head and see my stepmother with an angered face.

I run to my bike and ride as fast as I can.
