He’s finally well enough to be out with people, by that he’s not constantly thinking of trying to eat fingers and actually communicates with others socially again. He can barely hear himself click and it reminds him of birds chirping so its been pushed to the back of his mind. But for communication sake he’s actively listening to his own clicks until it became second nature to him.

He went up and seen Curtz talking with Rover. Or arguing with him.

“I swear if you don’t stop-”

“What is he saying?”

“Nothing you need to know, as for the matter with Clicks going on this mission it might be too soon.”

“Too soon? He’s going to see his old group again and see them to a new home. How is that too soon? Also, stop worrying about him, it’s not like he’s your real brother.”

Clicks could tell that the jibe Curtz did was intentional as if he knew something that others didn’t. When he turned his gaze on him it just made his skin crawl, not of how creepy the guy was but how he deals with Dead Walkers. What if Curtz catches on?

“My little brother’s name is-”

“I know, Jay Knight. It’s always been Jay Knight.”

“Josh, his name is Josh,” Rover said correcting Curtz.

“Right, keep saying that but we all know Robin Knight that your brother is standing two feet away from you alive and well.” Curtz said, “It’s been such a long time Tarts, it’s me, Sweets.”

“This isn’t who you think it is! Quit being delusional!” Rover yelled and Clicks tried to remember who ‘Sweets’ was, the guy knew him and his brother by name. There’s also no reason for Rover to be his brother. The two got into a tussle and Clicks moved back to give them room until Curtz got up and pinned him down instead.

“I’ll prove that this is my Jay!” Curtz ripped the face mask off and yanked his hair up to reveal grey eyes. “What? No, no! Your Rover’s little brother Jay Knight! I know it! These aren’t your eyes! Show me your eyes!”

“Stop!” Rover yelled and pulled Curtz off showing a knife and Clicks bleeding from his left eye. Getting up he looked at Curtz being held in a headlock so Clicks ran to the building where Dr. Needle was.

“It’s not bad, your healing more quickly than normal. I want to test one last thing now that its been brought to my attention. Let’s test your eyes,” the test went smoothly, he could see out of his left eye again and it’s been noted that he no longer has the scar.

Once everything’s calmed down Rover comes in asking for a sedative for Curtz and Dr. Needle gladly gave one to him. Rover left after checking on Clicks’ eye.

“Alright let’s bandage this up and pretend that it isn’t bad as everyone thinks,” Dr. Needle wrapped a gauze around his head and put his helmet back on along with a new face mask that attached to the helmet if he wants it to. He was sent back up and he got into the truck. The guys asked if he was ok and he gave them a thumbs up and off they went after Rover got back.

They drove back to his old home and it was over run with Dead Walkers. He got out and the Fox Army took out their weapons and started shooting. Clicks ran with precision through the crowd and started leading the stragglers to the ditch. Once all of them were very few he went to the warehouse to get them to get in the truck.

Rover reached him and together they opened the door with ease. Which was worrying to him. This door was suppose to be air tight. Pausing, Rover went in quickly. Clicks tried to breathe, his heart hurting against his chest trying to break out. Then went in to get his worry over and done with. Wanting nothing more that to see everyone huddle and warm. Welcoming him home with smiles and big hugs.

It was empty.

The shelters were destroyed but no one was there.

Rover was looking everywhere for people, slowly checking the closed doors.

“Kid, I found them...” Rover called from the Medical Centre. Running over he wanted to see what had become of them.

“He... he did everything he could,” Rover opened the door and showed many bodies on the floor decaying. Dr. Murphy and Dustin were in the back and from Dr. Murphy’s arm was a needle and Dustin’s hand was a gun.

“No... no...” Clicks stepped back from the view, Rover closed the door and held Clicks close as the boy cried out. Clicks passed out soon after and Rover took him to a room that he knew belonged to him. Setting him on the bed he found that the room was filled with candy and chocolate bars.

An ammo box was also placed neatly with the sweets, on opening it was SD cards and batteries. He took his voice recorder and replaced the long dead batteries and put in one of the cards.

Pressing play:

“...On? We found another working one! You remember me it’s Sabrina! The most prettiest girl you will ever meet! Anyways, just wanted to say that we miss you Clicks. We’re doing well without you of course but the Migration is about to hit. At least from the Locals that tell us, so glad we listened to you as you talk to yourself. Otherwise we wouldn’t have known.”

“Alright listen here! It was two to one and the winners was determined by the stars themselves! Team Clicks verses Team Silence! Team Clicks is in the lead with Sabrina as the Captain. -bzzt- hits the ball! Team Silence has made a come back and tied the game! -Bzzt- ya -bzzt- did it -bzzt- -crackle- oh shoot! Team Clicks has won! Sabrina! A word! How does it feel to win in the name of your boyfriends name!”

“Shut up! -bzzt- -clack-”

“I’m telling mom!”

“Dad! He’s doing it again!”

“Clicks, my son. Things aren’t the same since you left, I know you’ll be back. Sabrina found the voice recorder and we’ve just been stock holding the SD cards, batteries, your candy and chocolate. We know you won’t mind if we take a few here and there, but it just doesn’t feel right when it’s not you physically giving us these rare treats. I’m free to rat on my children since they are now asleep. Jebediah thinks of you as a little brother. He misses you dearly, that he’s often taking your bell suit and sleeping with it. Sabrina, she always looked up to you -ting- that’s Jeb and your bells. Heheh, she’s looked up to you for so long that she might have a crush on you Clicks.”

“Hiiii, Clicks you are the worst for ditching us like this and I my have had had many to drunk... -giggle- but I think your toes are cute.”

“The Migration is here, -clatter- they’re banging on the outside. We patched up what we could -growling- everyone is still worried. If you were here we wouldn’t be worried. Didn’t know we relied on you for comfort so much. The View Point is in operation and we have someone up there taking a shift with Jebediah next.

-Coughing-

Someone caught a cold it sounds like. I’ll have Dr. Murphy look at them. -crackle- ..ve time for myself anymore -sigh- would change it though. Busy is good.”

Rover put the voice recorder down and went to the room with all the bodies. Looking around they were injected and shot afterwards through the head, looking at Dr. Murphy’s body he seen the needle and the bullet through his head. He also had a gun and figured that the two must have shot each other at the same time. He spotted a voice recorder in the man’s pocket and took it.

Walking out and closing the door he replaced the batteries and pressed play from the last entry.

“-Bang- I’m sorry -Bang-”

“Is that the last of them?”

“Yeah, yeah I think so. Dr. Murphy I’m sorry if only I caught onto it sooner...”

“It’s okay, just sit down beside me and let me give you the injection. -clatter- there we go. That will take effect soon.”

“-clatter- thanks, I thought it was just a simple cold...”

“It’s ok, were not suffering anymore. Especially not Clicks.”

“God I hope not! But if he is then I’m kicking his ass the next time I see the brat!”

“Haha, something to look forward to, I would like to watch as well. By the way, I’m pretty sure I can say this now. Clicks can talk.”

“Oh I know.”

“Well damn! I thought me and my family were the only ones that knew.”

“Clicks trust the oddest of people, I’m glad he trusts you. He put us in good hands when he left.”

“Yeah, he sure did. Whenever your ready Dustin Moral.”

“Of course Dr. Dan Murphy.”
