Early in the morning Inside Tsai's house in the Mal kingdom, "Wakey wakey" sings Letwa from the kitchen. Tsai is awakened by the noise coming from the kitchen, frustrated and in anger. "Oh man not again, I'm definitely going to kill this woman." He heads to the kitchen and finds a cheerful Letwa placing food on the table she says "Breakfast is ready."
With an emotionless expression, Tsai Takes a seat and starts eating. "But I gotta admit the food is delicious."
"I know it was your job to welcome us, we thank you very much but I think we are fine now," says Tsai.
Letwa close to tears says, "Are you saying my food tastes awful? I'm right, aren't I? That's what you are saying right?"
"no... no... no... it's delicious," says Tsai trying to calm her down.
"Do you mean that?" asks Letwa slowly calming down.
Tsai further calms her down "Is delicious."
Letwa smiles "Okay, I'll keep cooking for you."
Tsai masks his anger with a smile. "There's no getting rid of her."
Tsai calls out "Lefa... Lefa... where is that boy"
Letwa replies "Oh, he has already left for the fundi training"
"Oh, Yesterdays training must've been a treat," says Tsai.
The fundi are gathered at Kraal the official training ground for Mal kingdom's fundi. Lefa walks past Motsokai and others
happen to hear a little of what they are talking about. Motsokai asks one fundi who seems to be trembling "Are you cold?"
"No, it's just anxiety," replies Letse.
"What is he anxious about?" asks Motsokai.
Letse replies "You know what today is right?"
"What's today?... What dumb question is that?, today is today," says Motsokai.
"Ignorant as ever, today is the day we receive our guardinas," says Letse.
"Oh... It's today, man I bet I'm going to get something cool like a lion," says Motsokai with excitement.
"Are you from the BaanaTau clan?" asks Letse.
"No," replies Motsokai.
Letse shakes his head in confusion and asks, "So why do you think you can get a lion? because only people from that clan get the lions."
Motsokai with a disappointed look on his face says "Aw man, that's not fair."
"See ignorant," says Letse.
Mosuwe steps forward, the fundi assemble in an orderly fashion. After gesturing for silence he begins to address the fundi. "Today is a big day for you all," he says with a firm voice.
Lefa ponders. "a big day?"
Further back Letse appears to be having a discussion with some other fundi. "Letse quiet," shouts Mosuwe.
All goes silent like a grave. "Sorry sir." apologizes Letse.
"Only if your battle skill were as abundant as your words. Unteachable," says Mosuwe.
Everyone busts with laughter, again Mosuwe gestures for silence
and proceeds. "As I was saying, today we are all heading to the Rapule cave today."
Lefa ponders "Where and what is the Rapule cave?"
Mosuwe continues "For you who don't know especially our rookies, the Rapule cave is here in the kingdom, is the most
sacred place in the kingdom. It has been this way for ages, first to our forefathers it was made known, and the knowledge has
been passed from generation to generation.
There's a strict rule concerning the cave, no one is allowed entry unless of course on a big day like this: The guardina acceptance ceremony."
"Do I have to explain what a guardina is?... well, knowledge is better than assumption.
Everyone is born with an internal power called Matla, now this power is cultivated by training, the more you train the more you increase its amount but what is the use of this power? let me demonstrate." says Mosuwe as he calls off the warriors next to him.
One other warrior and Mosuwe draw their swords and clash them. The other warrior's sword shatters as if it were glass, while Mosuwe's sword stays undamaged.
"Can somebody tell me what happened?" asks Mosuwe. "Your sword is made up of a tougher material than his."
replies one of the fundi.
"No... you are wrong, both swords are made from the same material the difference is that I streamed my matla through my sword, that's why it was able to shutter his into pieces," says Mosuwe.
"Ow man matla is amazing," says Motsokai with excitement.
"But that doesn't explain the guardinas." says one of the fundi.
Mosuwe continues "Well guardinas, where do I start? guardinas are spiritual beings. For as long as we know guardinas have been around to guard over us. Guardinas are received in the form of Lejwe; a sacred stone like this one." he says, holding a glossy black stone that fits securely in his hand.
"They can be summoned and merged with, using matla the guardina special abilities can be accessed and executed. So you see a person who has control over his guardina has a huge advantage over someone who
doesn't. I think that's enough let's go."
"This is a game changer," says Letse.
"How?" asks Motsokai.
"Think about it even if your combat skills are mediocre, by using your guardina you can be a formidable warrior, defeating
even people who are exceptional at free combat." says Letse.
"Damn!" remarks Motsokai.
"That changes nothing a weakling will always be weakling," says Bruta.
"Of course, that still depends on which guardina you get and your relationship with it," says Letse.
