"I am Duke Cedric Winchester And I need Miss Mariannas help" he said politely. "What sort of help?" I asked. He pulled up his sleeves showing what looked like some sort of purple rash. "I've been to every doctor, magician and alchemist in the empire and none have succeeded in curing it" he said as he rolled down his sleeve.
I sighed. "Give me a moment to clean up" I said then slipped inside the house. I quickly hid the eggs again and opened the door. "Come in" I said and so he did. "The rash you have is called Purpura, its usallly caused by small blood vessels leaking blood into the skin, joints, intestines, or organs" I explained as I began to mix some herbs together. "It's not always caused by a illness but could be caused by anything that can cause a sort of trauma to your body" I explained. "My question is why wasn't magic or Alchemy able to cure it?" I asked turning to him.
He was silent. "What's your mana level?" I asked just staring at him. "10" he said without hesitation. "Your mana level is a 10 that's impossible" I said with a slight chuckle as I poured the herbs I mixed into a small glass bottle. "And what's yours?" He asked. I paused for a second. "My mana is level 1" I replied. "A level 1" he said surprised "yes a level 1" I repeated. "How do you even live with a mana level that low?" He asked seeming concerned. "I take a special medicine to keep my mana from dropping by doing daily activities and I don't use magic" I told him. "And that works?" He asked "most of the time" I replied. "And what about when it doesn't?" He asked. I just stared at him for a second then handed him the bottle of mixed herbs. "Apply the herbs to the rushed skin once a day for a week and let me know the progress" I said to him he nodded.
I escorted him to the door and opened it "I shall see you in a weeks time then" he said then I closed the door and let out a sigh. The only thing I cared about was Amelia not finding out he had been here, she'd be livid if she knew.
A week passes by quickly. Everything was calm. That was until I heard an unusual sound coming from where I had hidden the eggs. I walked over to them and had taken the blanket off them. They were both cracked now and shaking Slightly. Were they finally about to hatch? I hadn't prepared for this. In fact I wasn't even sure what would come out of the eggs.
Suddenly they began to shake even more as more cracks began to form. Then a head popped out of the top of one of the eggs. I looked at it confused as I stepped closer and knelt down. "A lizard" I said tilting my head in confusion as it stared at me and did the same.
It suddenly burst out of the egg causing me to scream and fall back on my but as it began to fly and jump all around the house. Suddenly the second egg completely hatched and there were now to winged lizards jumping and flying around the small house. "Dragons" I said in a slight whisper.
I quickly stood up. And tried to catch them. "You must stop" I said as I tried to grab them but they dodged. "STOP!" I finally yelled causing them to stop where they were and look at me. "I didn't think that would actually work" I said to myself, as they continued to look at me. Suddenly I heard a knock on the door. "Is everything OK in there?" A man yelled from outside. It was the Duke. "Um... Yes just a moment!" I yelled as I slowly made my way to the door. And they followed me with their heads. "Stay" I said to them as I turned to the door, opened it and quickly slipped out.
The Duke just stood there staring at me with his blue eyes. "Yes?" I said trying to be natural. "It's been a week my lady, I came to give you an update as you said" he said naturally. "Ah yes did they help at all?" I asked. "May we talk I side?" He Questioned. "I'm sorry we cannot" I said quickly "why is that?" He asked with a raised eyebrow. "I have got some pets and I don't believe they like other people very much" I said basically telling the truth. "We could find out now can't we I won't blame you if I hurt" he said with a smile. "I believe it would just be better if we talked out here My lord" I said "how did the herbs do?" I asked. He sighed. "They certainly worked at stopping the pain but it did not stop the rash" he explained.
"I thought as much" I said.
A loud bang suddenly came from inside the house. "Oh dear" I said lookingat the house then turning back to him. "I think it would be best if you stopped by another day" I said quickly. "Yes it might be" he said. "Are you coming to the barons Ball?" He Questioned as I turned to the door. "Oh I'm not invited to things like that" I said "I see how unfortunate" he said. "Excuse me" I said as I quickly went Inside. The place was a mess as the two dragons stopped in their tracks and just stared at me "oh my" i said looking around. The dragons almost looked guilty.
I slowly kneeled down and sat down on the floor against the wall. "Hello" I said quietly as they just continued to watch me. "I suppose it would be best If I gave you two names hm?" I said talking to them "oh and meat dragons need meat right?" I questioned myself.
They slowly began to approach me. They were both small, the size of a small dog, and black. As black as night the only difference between the two that I could tell were their eyes. One had a beautiful ice blue color, where as the other had eyes had red as blood.
"I got it" I said aloud as they began to climb in my lap.
"Your name shall be Nyx" I said petting the dragon with red eyes "and your Drazyn" I said now petting the dragon with blue eyes.
"Yes" I said "your names are Nyx And Drazyn" I said oncemore
