Chapter 2: The Man In My Bed
Lexi's eyes slowly fluttered open to about halfway as she took in the darkness that had engulfed her room before she rolled over slightly in her bed as she stretched her arms and legs. The smooth, silky sheets softly brushed against her skin as she continued to stretch before she stopped.
“That’s strange; I don’t remember my bed being this cozy. I must have drank too much last night, but my bed does feel a lot softer and more comfortable than it usually is,” Lexi quietly thought to herself as she savored the cushiony soft sensation that she expected a cloud to feel like that the bed was currently providing her with. About a couple of minutes passed, she opened her mouth wide and let out a small yawn.
It wasn’t long before she leaned up into a sitting position on the bed before the small tingly sensation in her head caused her to reach up and hold her head. “Ugh, I still feel a little groggy; maybe drinking those two shooters too quickly wasn’t such a good idea after all,” she whined to herself. Eventually, she threw the blankets off herself and shifted her legs one by one off the side of the bed.
Lexi soon wrapped her arms around her body to provide some warmth to her slightly shaking figure, “Why is it so cold in here? Maybe I forgot to close a window last night?” Lexi thought to herself as she soon started to feel around the cool surface of the room’s wall in search of the light switch.
After about a couple of minutes, Lexi finally managed to locate the light switch and flipped it on with her pointer finger. Once the light was on, her eyes shifted downward, gazing down at her shaking figure. At that moment, she realized that she was partially naked, and an unknown shirt she had never seen before was keeping her underwear hidden. Lexi took a hold of the bottom portion of the shirt that she was wearing with both of her hands to take a closer look at what appeared to be a tight-fitting black cotton shirt that clearly belonged to a guy since it smelled of a hint of cologne and the shirt was oversized on her.
“Why am I wearing some guy's shirt!” Lexi screeched as she jumped off the bed. She began to frantically spin around like a whirlwind as she took in her surroundings.
“Where the hell am I! This isn’t my bedroom! Don’t tell me I agreed to a one-night stand with Jace,” Lexi whined out loud. Then it finally dawned on her that she was standing in the middle of the most beautiful and mysterious bedroom she had ever seen; just as she took a couple of steps back, her foot accidentally got caught by a piece of the bed sheet that was hanging off the bed that caused her to skydive into the center of the floor.
A soft chuckle that belonged to a guy broke the peaceful silence of the room, causing Lexi to call out, “Whose there?!”
Lexi eventually crawled toward the foot of the bed. After she reached the bed, she pulled herself up to peek over the footboard. The bed was over-sized and more than enough for two people to sleep on with space to spare. The sheets were made of the finest silk that was pure white in color that was paired with a top blanket that was a deep navy blue that was similar to the navy blue walls that were encasing the room that reminded her of the night sky. Her blue eyes slowly traced up the silky covers toward the big and fluffy pillows that sat comfortably at the top of the bed before her eyes darted to the right to the man who was lying there with a charming smile on his lips.
“Oh, I see you’ve finally woken up,” he said in a soft voice while his smile didn’t waver.
“Oh, great, I’ve slept with a guy that wasn’t Jace. Not that Jace would’ve been a better option; I just would’ve known who it was compared to who this is,” Lexi quietly thought to herself before she rose to her feet and looked over at the strange guy who was still lying in the bed.
“You okay there? You’ve been pretty quiet? But you do look nice with my shirt on,” he said with a grin while he gave her a playful wink that caused the heat to rise to her cheeks.
Her dark blue eyes clashed against his icy blue eyes as she held his gaze after she heard his comment, but then it finally dawned on her that she was only wearing a shirt right now that revealed her sexy, slender legs. “Don’t look,” Lexi cried out. She grabbed the ends of the cotton shirt and attempted to stretch it past her thighs to no avail, which caused him to chuckle.
“I don’t think that’s going to work but don’t worry, I’m not looking,” he said, still chuckling, while he glanced away from her, but that didn’t cure Lexi’s embarrassment that she was currently feeling.
“So, um, can you tell me your name and where exactly I am?” Lexi asked while she still tried to force the shirt to go further past her thighs.
“Soooo~ you don’t remember the hot guy that rescued you from the club last night?” he asked as he looked over at her again, this time careful not to look at her legs like she had asked him not to.
“From the club?” Lexi said with confusion, lacing her voice since she was trying to figure out who exactly he was from the club.
“Yeah, the Stargazer’s club. You were wandering through the crowd, clearly drunk from having too many drinks, and then you bumped into me. And~ before I could even speak, you vomited all over me,” the guy said as another chuckle left his lips while he continued to smile at her, clearly amused by the whole thing.
“Yeahhhh, I’m really sorry for vomiting all over you. If you want, I could pay for the dry cleaning of your clothes. But you still haven’t answered where I am right now,” Lexi said, and it was clear on her face that she felt bad about the whole thing.
“Nah, don’t sweat it. I think you only vomited all over me because you were lost in a trance because you thought I was hot, right?” he said with a playful grin, which caused a small blush to dust her cheeks, proving that he was right to some degree, and before she could speak he spoke again.
“But, after you vomited on me, you blacked out and started to fall back. Before you hit the floor, I caught you, and since I couldn’t figure out where you lived, I decided to take you back to my place since I was concerned about your safety,” he said in an innocently sweet tone.
“Oh great, Lexi. Look at all the things you made this poor man go through,” Lexi scolded herself mentally before something finally dawned on her that threw her out of her thoughts.
“Uhhh, this shirt is yours, right?” Lexi asked innocently, which caused him to smile.
"Yes, that’s my shirt and?” he said innocently, while he leaned his chin against his closed fist while his elbow rested against the bed.
“So that means you put this shirt on me?” Lexi asked as a deeper blush started to form on her cheeks.
“That’s right, I washed your clothes, which should be dry now, and I put my t-shirt on you,” he said as the corners of his lips tugged up into a smile.
“Um, and did we…do anything last night?” Lexi asked as she fiddled with her fingers, while her tone was full of uncertainty.
“Did we what? I’m not really sure what you mean exactly; you’re gonna have to be more clear,” he said, while his eyes held a hint of amusement in them.
“You know exactly what I mean. A…a one-night stand, okay!” Lexi eventually blurted out despite her embarrassment, which caused him to laugh.
“Don’t laugh, I’m being serious. Also, if you changed my clothes, that means you saw my bra and underwear,” she whined at him like it was the end of the world, and not being able to contain himself, he laughed harder.
After he calmed down, he reached up to wipe the tears from his eyes, “I’m sorry. I shouldn't have laughed. Don’t worry; I’m not the type of guy to take advantage of a girl who's drunk, and besides, I like to get to know the person I’m going to sleep with who isn’t drunk. Also, for your clothes, I…didn’t see much, but it’s a nice matching set for a bra and underwear,” he said while he retained his innocence.
“So, you did see, how could you!” she whined at him since she was clearly embarrassed that some stranger had seen her black lacy bra that was paired with a black matching thong underwear.
After hearing her comment, he sat upright, which caused the silk covers to fall downward into his lap to reveal his beautiful abs. Hanging from his neck was a necklace that had a charm at the end of it that was a golden hourglass that had a crow perched on top of it.
“Look, I’m sorry. I had to look enough to carefully remove your vomit-soaked clothes and then place my nice clean shirt on you, and to be fair, I didn’t want any vomit on my bed,” he said while he looked over at her with those icy blue eyes of his.
“So what you’re telling me is you saw my ass!” Lexi blurted out while a blush still remained on her cheeks. Her temperature slowly rose up to the point where she no longer felt cold.
“So, it was that type of underwear, huh,” he said, now deep in thought about her comment.
“You know what, never mind. Can I have my clothes back, please? Also, I really appreciate everything that you did for me,” Lexi said while glancing away from him.
“Geez, you’re cuter than you realize; I might have started to fall for you already. But I’ll go get your black dress for you,” he said with a grin before he got up from the bed.
As Lexi watched the man get off the bed, her face turned redder than a tomato when she noticed that he was tall, very fit, and only wearing a pair of black boy shorts.
“Hey, why is it okay for you to look at me,” he said playfully while he grinned at her.
“I’m sorry,” Lexi whined after being in a small gaze and quickly turned her head, which caused him to chuckle.
“I guess it’s a fair trade after all, right?” he said playfully before leaving the room.
Now, Lexi was all alone in her thoughts as well in a mysterious man’s room who forgot to tell her his name.
