"Okay, sir. I'll do it right away!"
Ferdinand, who had reported the latest situation regarding the state of the city, rushed out of the meeting room after he received a new assignment from his superior.
His sharp black eyes were firm. With his large body and full of energy, he took two of his men to the evacuation camp.
"What about the condition of the residents?"
"Yes, sir. The residents have received food supplies under the instructions we have received"
"Good. The rest?"
“For other things, like new refugees and goods just arriving.”
Ferdinand touched his chin and thought.
Most of the residents are situated in the west, east, and center of the city, while the evacuation camp is in the north.
The chances of those surviving the attacks of the monsters might be slim, but he couldn't ask for more to deal with the local population.
His only contribution is to assist refugees in need as a specialized emergency alert force.
No matter what they are like, residents are still residents. There is no distinction.
“How many new refugees have arrived?”
"Two persons. Both are men. Their identities are a student and a lecturer."
"What about their families?"
Ferdinand's subordinate shook his head.
"We couldn't find them on the list of refugees. Maybe they are still living in their respective homes."
"Hmmm. We can't do anything other than this. Good, you can go back to your respective tasks."
His two subordinates saluted, then turned around and left Ferdinand alone. There were numerous large artificial tents in front of the special officer, capable of accommodating thousands of people.
The refugee camp location is also in the northern area of the city. Strategic place for TNI to monitor the situation. Besides the prime area, this place also has multiple military bases.
Ferdinand looked to his left and right. All he saw were pale-faced people in a group.
“This is a task. I can't bring my emotions into this task. They also have families, and quite a few of them are still children.”
The man approached the refugee tent, showing concern.
“According to my Arcana Compass, this is the place”
"This? Are you sure, Randolf? The intersection of time and space distortion is in the campus cafeteria?”
Adis shook his head, then glanced at Randolf with a look of disbelief.
“Trust me. After this strange phenomenon comes, believe what you haven't believed in," he answered with a serious expression.
"Maybe you're right"
"Good. Then let's go in."
They ventured into a deep crack in the university cafeteria. The cracks were blackish green and pulsed with faint echoes.
As soon as Adis stepped inside, his body began to sway, but Randolf, with quick reflexes, immediately caught his hand.
"Atta boy! Be careful with your steps, especially since a gap like this can immediately affect your mind as soon as you step into it."
"T-thank you. You saved me again."
"Does not matter. Then we can continue, right?" Randolf lifted the brim of his hat slightly as if to signal, No problem, right? more or less.
Adis nodded slowly. A faint smile appeared on Randolf's mouth after seeing his new friend's response.
"Good. Let's go in.”
As soon as the two of them entered the gap. A thick fog suddenly enveloped them and several sharp, reddish eyes from behind the fog seemed to be looking at the two of them in silence.
A few moments later, Randolf set foot on fertile land. Adis followed him from behind and how shocked he was when a new sight was right in front of his own eyes.
They studded the evening sky with faint stars. The land is fertile, with thin green grass swaying in the wind. The stone wall at the end of the place looks massive, large, and forms several carved statues of knights.
However, as soon as he turned around, he faced the edge of the horizon. His eyes widened in disbelief at what he saw. An open sea like a nighttime fairy tale, crashing waves and several seagulls flying were clearly visible.
To the left of where he stands, there is a tall monument. The carved letters on the surface glowed faintly, emitting an aura with fluorescent spots.
He could also see rows of special tents and people interacting with each other nearby. Far behind are three different houses with their own distinctive styles. The different type of wood used does not obscure the elegant impression that emerges from the outside.
“Welcome to Blightmire, my fellow travelers. This is a place where lost travelers rest and reflect on their own destiny. This place is at the tip of the Lafias Continent close to the Magnark Kingdom. The monument there is a special monument intended for fallen travelers. In addition, Blightmire is also often called the City of Twilight.”
Unfortunately, Adis is currently in his imagination again. The first thing that got his full attention was a black snowflake that landed on the tip of his nose.
“Black snow”
"Correct. This phenomenon also appears where you come from, right?”
Adis nodded, then touched the snowflake on the tip of his nose. However, before he managed to touch it, the snowflake suddenly shattered into black dotted particles.
"Not cold"
“That's also one thing I wanted to ask, but it seems like you don't know about this either, huh?”
"Yes. I was too scared and indecisive to notice such a small thing.”
"Naturally. Everyone who faced those monsters must have felt the same way as you. Never mind, instead of continuing to think about that, let me take you to meet the acquaintance I told you about before."
After that, Randolf walked towards one of the houses. Behind him, Adis followed, wandering around like a lost child.
However, no one there noticed the strangeness of Adis's character. It was all because they were used to the conditions of Adis, as the name suggests, Blightmire is a place where travelers get lost.
