Tears To You, My Dear

Chapter Six

Chapter Six

Nov 30, 2023

I yawned as I walked alongside Ysennia to the bus. It's 7 in the morning and it's a two hour drive to the city. I truly wanted to stay in bed, but Ysennia forced me along.

“Is everyone here?” Professor Gill yelled, standing on his toes to look in the back

“Yes, sir!”

“Okay, I'll need to see your IDs before you get on the bus. And remember one single file line,”

Professor Gill checked our IDs and we were allowed onto the bus. We sat in the middle part of the bus. I watched as Ysennia took out her extra jacket to wrap in front of her and leaned on me. I looked out the window, trying to find something to count to help me fall asleep.

“Attention everyone!” I jumped and looked to the front, “It will take us about two hours to get to the city. When we get there, I'll tell you the rules but for now, relax and enjoy the scenery,”

The bus jerked and drove ahead to our destination and I stared outside.

                                                             ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

“It's time to get up, Layla,” Ysennia said, groggy

I opened one of my eyes and stretched, seeing blurry figures walk out of the seats.

“Lets go,” I yawned, pushing Ysennia

She stood up and stretched then moved forward so I can get out and stretch as well. We walked out of the bus and stood behind the group in front of us.

“Okay, now that everyone is awake and here. I have rules to set out for you,” Professor Urban took out a paper and began to read from it, “You will be in a group of five. You must stay with this group, the entire time and must report at this location at nine. We will have a person wear this bracelet to allow us to see your location so please come to me when I say your name,” He rustled into his bag, “Okay. Killian, Rusty, Diana, Layla and Oscar. Please come up here and get your bracelet,”

I was taken back because why would I get a bracelet. I'm not a leader. I walked up to front and let Professor Urban put the bracelet on me and I had to stay up there.

“Just like I told everyone else, this bracelet has a emergency button just in case your in trouble or someone runs off from the group,” He said lowly before turning around, “Now, that the selected have a bracelet, I will name out their group members,”

My eyes widened, “Wait, so we're the leaders of the team?” I asked

“Yes, as you all seem fit to be a leader and keep your group in control,” He smiled at me and then at looked at the rest of the students, “Okay, starting off with Killian’s group…,”

He read off the names and once it got to me, I stood there afraid and nervous. “For Layla’s group, we have Sandra, Ysennia, Alex, and Lucas,”

“Oh for the love of god,” I groaned as I saw Lucas smirk as he walked towards me

“Now, that everyone is in their groups. You may go on your adventure, but make sure to be here by 9pm and not to divert from your group,”

I looked at my group, “Okay, where would you like to go first?” I handed them the paper that held the stores and what time they opened

“Well, since its almost 10, shouldn’t we get something to eat first and then explore?” Alex asked, rubbing the back of his neck

“I like his idea,” Ysennia said as Sandra nodded

“Well, the three of you can go eat while I explore,” Lucas was about to walk off before I grabbed his hand
I felt my face get hot, but I ignored it, “I’m not gonna let you go. I’m the leader so you have to stay with us,”

He glared at me, “Do you seriously think I care? I’m going to enjoy this day my own way and there’s nothing you can stop me,” He grabbed my wrist, yanking it off of him and walked away

I pressed the button on my bracelet to which I heard Professor Urban’s voice, “Is something the matter?”

“Lucas decided to depart from the group. I tried to get him to stay but he walked off,” My voice trembled

“I knew he would do this,” He sighed, “Don’t worry about him. You and your group enjoy yourselves,” He hung up and I looked at the group

“So, how does pancakes and crepes sound?” I smiled at them

“If he wants to die and get lost, let him. He’s not going to ruin our outing,” Sandra said before walking off towards the restuarant she choose

                                                         ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

I stared at the ceiling mobile, debating whether to buy it or walk away. I watched as the sun hit the glass star and it gleamed, making a reflection on the wall. My eyes widened at the detail on the wall, it was like snowflakes moving on the wall.

“Excuse me, ma’am. How much is this ceiling mobile?” I asked, looking at the seller

“Oh, this mobile,” She slowly walked over, fixing her glasses to look at it, “For you dear, I’ll give you a discount,” She smiled at me before hollering for her worker to come and get the mobile, “I’ll tally you up at the register,”

The worker handed me the mobile, I thanked him before walking to the register. The seller carefully grabbed the mobile from me and wrapped it in newspaper and a couple of bags before taking the money from me and handing me the bag.

She handed me my change and walked away, heading to another customer. I walked around to look for my group and once I spotted all of them. I asked if they wanted to go to another store and we left to head off to another store.

We continued to walk around, looking into various of stores and eating snacks. It was a fun to be explore the city with a group as you can see certain stores you’ll never go to. All of a sudden, a whole crowd of people came towards us and I tried to reach for Ysennia or any of my group, but it was too late. I got suck into the crowd and was being pushed around, not knowing what was happening. I held my bag close to my chest, just trying to get out of the crowd.

I let out a deep breath after getting out of that crowd. I looked around, trying to find my group members, but I had no luck. I was going to tap on my bracelet before my eyes were captured by something else. It was those blue eyes, he was staring directly at me. I felt my legs start to move on themselves and I tried to look away but I was so entranced with them. I stopped when I lost sight of them. I shook my head and continued walking, trying to find my group, but it seemed destiny had its way of doing things. I bumped into someone, praying to god my ceiling mobile didn’t break.

“Sorry,” I bowed my head and was about to walk off before they grabbed my wrist, “Excuse me, could you le-,” My eyes widened when I was reunited with those eyes

“So, its you,” He tilted his head and I noticed his pupils weren't circles but slitted pupils, “I never knew I could be bewitched by someone so.. human,”

“I-I should be asking you the same thing,” I said after gaining control of my body and confidence

It took a lot out of me to do something like this. I yanked my hand out of his grip and held it close to my chest and he watched me like a hawk.

“I truly don't understand what's so bewitching of you,” He circled around me before stopping in front me, lowering his head so we can look at each other and I could see how much he was bending his body, “So, would you like to tell me who you are and what you've done to me?”

His face being right there wasn't helping me nor my heart. I could feel my face getting red and I looked away, but then he would move his head as well, so I could keep looking at him.

“I-I would really appreciate it if you stopped staring at me,”

He stared at me before backing away and grabbing my hand, turning it over to show my palm, “Hm…you are a interesting one,” He smirked and kissed the palm of my hand

My eyes widened and I pulled my hand out of his. My heart pounding against my chest, not knowing this kind of emotion. “You shouldn’t put your lips on someone without warning,”

He continued to smirk at me before getting closer. I didn’t know what was happening. Since he will come closer then back away. Was this teasing? “You haven’t answered my question yet,”

“W-what?” I took a step back, “Question? You’ve just been teasing me,”

“Teasing?” He looked confused before shaking his head, “My question of what I asked earlier. Who are you and what have you done to me?”

I shook my head, “No, I’m not going to tell you my name and I don’t know whats happening. I just feel attracted to your eyes and thats it,”

He looked taken back, “I didn't expect that,”

“Excuse me,” I turned around and was about to run off before bumping into someone and got surrounded with people

My anxiety started to raise, trying to get out, but then I was pulled away. I fought against them but I looked up seeing those eyes.

“Let go of me!” I pulled my hand away from him, but he grabbed my hand again

“Would you rather get lost? If not, then stay close by me,” He pulled me closer to him

I decided to go along with him. There was no reason to fight as the crowd was getting worse and I didn't know where I was at.

“Can you take me to the Jucks bookstore?” I looked up at him, grabbing his arm as people got close to me

“Well let's see if we can push past this group,” He moved me in front of him as we pushed past the people
