"I Marianna Aneris Sengrid, greet your majesty the queen of Geria" I said with a curtsy. "There is no need to be formal my dear" my grandmother said grabbing my hands. "Duke Winchester you wish to go to war with your father" my grandmother said. "Yes" I replied. "My father's tyranny gets worse by the day I know if he gets hold of the dragons he will use them to harm many people" I told her. "So you need an army?" She asked. "I believe I need more then one... my father is a powerful man" I replied. "You may but you have something he doesn't" she said "what?" I asked "Dragons" she answered.
"Now come with me there are many things you must know before we talk more about war" she said pulling me with her.
We went I to her castle and I continued to follow her. "Do not follow us" my grandmother said to the servants that followed us. I continued to follow her down to the catacombs underneath the castle. "Where are we going?" I asked her as we walked down many stairs.
"Long ago Geria was once known as the kingdom of dragons" my grandmother said as we finally made it to the bottom of the stairs and began to walk down a long hallway. "Each royal had a dragon of their own and they became labeled as the Dragons Heart" she began to explain. "The dragons heart?" I questioned. "Yes" she said. "They were labeled as such because if the royal died so would the dragon that's how strong their connection was" she told me as we stopped infront of a door. "Of course during the great War the dragons became extinct so their has not been another dragon for around 500 years" she said opening the door.
It was a room with 3 podium one had a light blue egg on it while the other 2 were empty. "When I was young my father found 3 dragon eggs, when they didn't hatch he put them down here. And here they stayed for 65 years until two of them went missing around 2 months ago" she said as I entered the room, and stared at the light blue egg. I turned to my grandmother.
"You don't think k my dragons came from here do you?" I questioned. "Where else could they have come from?" My grandmother asked. "But how could they have gotten all the way to Zera" I asked turning to back to the egg. "I've no clue, but I have no doubt that you are the reason they hatched and I believe you will be the reason this one hatches as well" she said
"Being a dragons heart is rare as you have to be of the Gerian royal family decent. But you are not just the heart of one dragon but 2 and that has certainly never happened. Maybe you could even be the heart of a third" she said walking over to me.
"I've no clue how to raise 2 dragons won't 3 be to much?" I asked. "They grow fast as I'm sure you've noticed. There is no guarantee that this egg will hatch but if it does know that it will be yours" she said turning to look at me.
"Now that you know ow who you are we can talk about going to war with zera" she said. "You may be a princess of zera but you are also the princess of Geria... our army is yours so I beg you use it right" my grandmother said. "Thank you" I said "you must get as many allies as possible if you intend to fight with zera, meaning your next destination will be Angeria" she said pointing to the country on the map that was hanging on the wall.
"Angeria?" I questioned. "Yes... if you can form an alliance with them and fight with them they will be of great help to you" she said. "What will I have to do to gain their favor?" I asked turning to my grandmother. "Offer them something worth the fight" she said as we walked out of the room and she closed the door behind us. "Angeria are very privileged and powerful people but offer them something equal to what you wish and they will no doubt accept" my grandmother told me as we began to walk back up the stairs.
"Before you leave for Angeria you will stay here a few days to prepare for the long journey you will have to go by horse back" she explained. "And what of the dragons?" I asked. "Well they will follow you of course" she answered. "Of course" I replied in a low tone.
"Over the next few days you may do as you please enjoy it while it lasts for starting a war is no easy feat" she told me and I nodded, she then walked away and I walked back outside to the dragons. "Nyx, Drazyn" I called out and they immediately came. The lowered their heads and I began to pet them. They truly did grow fast, as they were now the size of a large carriage.
"Your Dragons are beautiful" I heard a woman say behind me, I turned around to see a dark skinned woman with black hair and brown eyes. Her hair was up in a braid and her dress was blue I could tell by looking at her she was a noble. "Thank you" I said. "I will be joining you on your journey your highness" she said. "How wonderful I have high hopes we shall get along well then and please call me Mari" I told her. "My name is Salana" she answered. "It's a pleasure to meet you salana" I said "the ple8is truly mine Princess Mari after all I've never seen a princess willing to go to war with her own country before" Salana said. "I do what I mist to protect my dragons" I said honestly
Many things from this point would change, I had no doubt of that. Because if going to war meant protecting not only my dragons but the people of zera from my father I would go to war.
