“Dimensional Gates is a magic spell that can create passages to other Earths in other universes. Unlike other magic, this magic only needs to be activated once by the wizard who first uses it, and it takes time to spread. Repeating this magic will only give a reaction of use, which indicates if the magic spell was successfully cast but will not have any effect.”
Daganzo looked familiar with this writing. Huelva’s expression turned deadpan.
“By the way, the magic spell you are about to try is the cause of the problem we are experiencing now, First Earth connected to Second Earth.”
Daganzo was surprised.
“I don’t know that, even though it says here there will be just reaction and no effect when repeating this spell, it’s still best not to do it carelessly. Should I just try another magic spell?”
Huelva crossed his arms.
“You don’t need to worry because there are barrier magic circles that lock this room. Besides, I want you to try using the first and second magic spells in that book.”
Daganzo was surprised, then nodded. Daganzo reads the text in the book before him.
“With the power of dimensional magic accompanying me now. When I say the dimensional gates will connect the earths, then the gates will appear.”
Not long after, a strong wind blast spread throughout the room, and the pages of Daganzo’s copy of the Book of Dimensional Magic on the lectern began to shine brightly upwards. Not long after, the magic circle that was engraved on the barrier walls around Daganzo started to react and glowed red; the energy and light emitted by Daganzo’s book copy were then sucked into these barrier walls, causing the light on Daganzo’s book to dim and the wind blowing and center in this book reduced, until finally the reaction that occurred from this book disappears completely, the surroundings return to quiet. Daganzo was surprised while looking at the book copy before him; he then turned to the Huelva.
“What just happened?”
Huelva’s expression turned serious.
“You just did what the Researcher Division did when experimenting with magic spells in that book for the first time. But unlike before, this time there were magic circles of barrier magic to prevent the completion of the activation of the Dimensional Gates magic. Another thing that we managed to discover is that even if the Dimensional Gates magic spell is repeated, the gates that appear will indeed remain the same number as when this magic was first performed, and are thought to continue to expand over a limited scale and give rise to new gates.”
Daganzo nodded.
“I see, that magic seems to have been continuously active from the moment it was activated until now?”
Huelva nodded.
“That’s right, and we are still looking for a solution to this problem.”
Huelva was silent in thought; his expression showed that something was bothering him. Daganzo’s expression turned curious; he opened the next page of this book copy.
“Then I will try the second magic spell.”
On the next page, the title written was “Shifting Dimension Magic Spell.” with its explanation:
“Shifting dimensions magic spells can only be activated if the dimensional gates magic spell has worked; the gate functions as a link between the two dimensions. Shifting dimensions magic allows the wizard to move between dimensions without having to pass through a dimensional gate. However, shifting dimensions magic requires full concentration, so it is very likely to fail. Shifting dimensions magic is tied to dimensional gate magic; it can only be done after passing through the gate once while carrying the Book of Dimensional Magic or a copy of it; then shifting dimensions magic can be done once too, and can be activated at any time, but the quantity will not increase until the magic spell is used.”
Daganzo was surprised.
“So we actually can move between dimensions without going through a dimensional gate? I just knew something like that could be done.”
Huelva nodded.
“We will continue this experiment when you have passed through the dimensional gate to Second Earth.”
Daganzo nodded with a curious expression. Huelva continued speaking.
“Next is one of the benefits for every new scout member, you are allowed to see the original Book of Dimensional Magic.”
Daganzo was surprised.
“The original book? It’s been a long time since I saw it.”
Huelva’s expression turned serious.
“Then there must be something you don’t know.”
Daganzo’s expression turned curious.
“Since the book was first discovered, I have never examined it more carefully.”
Huelva nodded.
“Okay, then follow me.”
Huelva walked out of the training hall; Daganzo then walked after him.
Elsewhere, the time is 7:00 am. Furano was in a modern minimalist-style apartment room on the ninth floor of the ten-story apartment buildings in this city, which she rented as her temporary residence while carrying out her scout mission at First Earth.
Furano wore a white short-sleeved shirt with an unbuttoned top button, a suit jacket, trousers, a belt, and women’s boots. Furano is in the kitchen with breakfast bar, located next to the family room with a long couch and a single couch surrounding a short table with a TV stand furniture and a TV on it, bookshelves, a single sofa, a floor lamp, and other modern minimalist style furniture. On one side of the family room’s walls is a row of tall framed glass pane sliding doors with open curtains leading to the balcony outside with a long sofa and a short table.
Furano was preparing breakfast for herself and a cup of coffee, then sat on one of the chairs at the breakfast bar and ate breakfast. A copy of the Book of Dimensional Magic was above the breakfast bar nearby. Furano’s expression turned curious; she then took this book copy and skimmed through it.
“Since the Gunslinger Wizard Government doesn’t yet know that this book is the cause for the Third Earth connected to First Earth, I’d better leave it like that for the time being....”
Furano’s attention was drawn to the magic spells in this book; her expression turned curious.
“Should I try the magic spells in this book...”
Furano looked doubtful, then closed the book. Furano drank her coffee, took out her smartphone from her trouser pocket, checked it, and found no incoming call. Furano’s expression turned curious.
“I wonder, will Daganzo accept my offer to cooperate in the investigation?”
Furano appeared to remember something; she then rechecked her book copy as she thought.
“None of the magic spells in this book can help Alton directly return to second Earth except for the gate that has already appeared from the activation of the Dimensional Gates magic spell in this book....”
Furano was silent for a moment in thought.
“Open quest progress.”
A black panel with white writing appeared next to Furano:
[Quest in Progress]
[Help the lost wizard return to his earth (second earth)
Additional quests: None
Time remaining to complete the quest: None]
[Search for the wizards’ whereabouts in Japan.
Additional quests: None
Quest requirements: None
Time remaining to complete the quest: None]
[Minimize] [Page 1 of 1]
Furano looked confused.
“Which quest should I complete first….”
Furano was silent for a moment in thought.
“I’ll help Alton first, we might be able to share knowledge about our investigation. Close panel.”
The black panel beside Furano vanished, and she then continued her breakfast. “Ding!” Not long after, a sound resembling a smartphone notification tone was heard, followed by the appearance of a black panel with white writing:
[New Quest Available*]
[Quest Details: Visit Second Earth and complete at least one quest there (0/1).
Additional quest: None
Quest requirements: None
Time remaining to accept the quest: None]
[Accept] [Discard] [Minimize]
Furano was surprised to read the black panel before her.
“Visit Second Earth? I wonder what kind of clues and quest I will get there....”
Furano touched the words [Accept], and the black panel before her vanished. Furano then resumed her breakfast.
The time was 9:00 am. Daganzo and Huelva walked along the wide corridor that connected the wooden double door entrances to the rooms on their right and left, on the 50th floor of the Wizards Government of Spain central Building. Huelva entered one of the waiting rooms with several groups of couches arranged in front of a row of tall framed glass window panes showing a beautiful view of the city. This room has a wooden cupboard near a tall wooden double-door entrance with beautiful carvings decorating it. A middle-aged man in his 50s wearing a long-sleeved shirt, waistcoat, trousers, belt, and loafers was sitting on one of the single couches in this room while reading a newspaper and a glass of tea on the short table before him. This man is the co-leader of the Scout Division. Huelva smiled.
“Good morning, how are you today?"
