Ch. 11 - Twilight on the Edge of the Blightmire Cliffs III

Ch. 11 - Twilight on the Edge of the Blightmire Cliffs III

Nov 30, 2023

They created abnormality because of an imbalance between light and darkness. These two opposing energies symbolize the majesty and power of the rulers.

Those who side with light will be heavier towards virtue and those who side with darkness will be heavier towards corruption.

These two things are the natural characteristics of all living creatures.

Without goals and characteristics, they are like corpses without a master. Moving aimlessly, turning away from the light, and falling into illusion forever.

Light and darkness. They come together to form a giant tree whose branches we can see from all corners of Astal. Provides magic and curses and shelter for lost travelers.

The tree is also called the Avesta—a supporting pillar of falsehood and truth.

A tree with a black chocolate trunk that has yellow veins. No one comprehends the purpose behind the perpetual falling of leaves.

Researchers, truth seekers, and observers can only conclude one thing... that every falling Avesta leaf is a sign of a lost soul. Some believe the tree represents eternity, while others agree with the first opinion.

Avesta is a manifestation of Astal. Supporter of the world, source of knowledge, historical library of past glories, and living witness to the bloodshed of buried dark history.

Rulers or those who have got the crown of virtue from the Avesta are the ripe fruit that has fallen.

Coming from the same Mother, however, they do not at all apply the true principles of the presence of the Avesta.

Comprising various types and forms, rulers were born with their own greatness. It's there, but it's formless. Real, but like an illusion. Whispering like a poisonous snake and watching like the sky at night.

Various properties and powers. Incarnated into representatives of the seven great sins and seven noble virtues. However, among all this, the decider was born. They always depicted his figure as a carefree, carefree child.

He is The Child. Astral entities that act as mediators and real scales for the rulers. Messenger of good and evil. standalone without taking sides with anyone and showing no mercy to those who violate the agreement.

However, even though The Child has absolute power. The rulers did not flinch when facing him. They hold the same degree and have similar positions in terms of hierarchy.

After that, a blessing was born. A testament to the ambitions of rulers, passed down to observe the cycle of eras.

Lost travelers believe it related to their appearance to the presence of death creatures. Born from rotten blood, rose to bring disease, and lived in a lifeless body to satisfy an insatiable thirst.

This is where each blessing displays its power. With unique characteristics, their application and how to use them also have certain requirements. And only by fulfilling certain conditions can blessings be used to eradicate the creatures of death.

Consisting of 14 rulers and one mediator. Unlike rulers, The Child has the indisputable right to give his blessings to people he likes.

The rulers cannot reject, refute, refute, or interrupt The Child's decisions. Because every mistake they make will have fatal consequences, like a real boomerang that hits the face without any strings attached.

Blessings are the same. If the blessing holder does not fulfill the specified conditions, the blessing holder will suffer the consequences. Each consequence has varying degrees of danger and it all depends on the agreement they take.

Blessings... can provide absolute security and uncertain danger. This is a sword with two equally sharp blades. Didn't know anyone, but was full of surprises.

"Hey. Why are your eyes so focused on that book? Aren't you hungry?"

Randolf's sudden appearance behind Adis caused the young man, who was focused on reading, to gasp in surprise and drop his book.

"Don't startle me like that"

“Eventually, focusing too much on something sometimes makes us insensitive to our surroundings. I'm just alerting you because it's been more than three hours and you're still stuck in the book you borrowed from Kraun."

“That's true, but since you were the one who suggested I come to that place, I don't have any other choice, right?”

Randolf took a deep breath and sat down next to Adis.

"I know, but you should also pay attention to your surroundings. This is no longer the world you came from. Blightmire may look peaceful right now, but we never know what kind of surprises this place will bring," said Randolf as he threw a twig into the campfire.

Adis could only sigh and then closed the book borrowed from Kraun.

【Your knowledge of the Astal World has increased. Obtain pieces of information regarding the Astal World】

【Because your curiosity is so much, people around you are starting to feel your presence. Affection towards everyone in Blightmire increased “Slightly”】

Again, the notification appeared before Adis's eyes. However, currently, he was more curious about blessings than information about the Astal World, even though this information was as important as blessings.

“Speaking of the house. Why are there only three houses in this place?”

Randolf looked into the distance before finally looking at Adis.

"Are you sure you want to know?"

"Of course. Why not?"

“It seems your thirst for knowledge is increasing, huh?”

"Who knows? It's just that I want to understand all this more quickly. At least that can calm my heart a little."

“Calm is not the right word, but relieved. So you still want to know?”

“Uhmm....”

Randolf closed his mouth, then looked down. While it glued his eyes to the campfire, his right hand poked a few logs in to make the flames rise higher.
