A sudden green glow lit up the sky, and within seconds, it shaped into an eagle.
"That logo, no way..." Josh's voice trailed off as he gazed up at the sky, his expression a mix of disbelief as his mouth hung opened.
"The Orime group is here!" Josh shouted, alerting the other teachers.
They ran out, warning the guards about the attack. The principal realized what was happening and sent his guards to inform the three great families who where sitting in the royal table.
"Honey, what is that in the sky?" Ashylene's mother asked, pointing at the eagle.
Ashylene's father widened his eyes and looked to his left, where the other two families were sitting. They had all risen to their feet. Sandra's parents had drawn their swords, and Jane's parents were steaming with cold, summoning ice crystals.
"That, is the Emblem that belongs to the Orime group and it seems they are here," he said as his aura changed.
Slowly, the entire school was engulfed by massive waves of energy emanating from the members of the Orime group.
"What immense energy... Is this what they're truly capable of?" remarked a woman from the Lerylin family, her voice tinged with concern as she observed the unfolding chaos.
"It seems everyone is aware of the gravity of the situation," noted Ashylene's father, his hand pulsating with a vibrant purple glow, a sign of his own formidable power.
"Our children!" exclaimed Jane's mother, her eyes scanning the group anxiously. "I fear they're here for them," she added, her voice trembling with worry.
"It would appear so. What steps can we take?" questioned the leader of the Lerylin family, her gaze sweeping over the arena in search of a solution.
"Allow me to handle it. With my unique abilities, locating our children will be much simpler," declared Grey, Ashylene's father, confidence resonating in his voice as he offered to take charge of the situation.
"Boom!" An explosion rocked the two pillars that supported the roof of the terrace, and it began to collapse. People who were under it were crushed by the rocks, and blood and screams filled the arena.
"Let's go ," Sandra's mother yelled.
"No, let's split up. My wife and I will go find our children, and you guys help these people," Ashylene's father said, as they agreed and trusted each other.
Meanwhile, lost in the euphoria of my victory, I continued to revel in the moment, unaware of the unfolding chaos around me.
"Ah, yes, I won," I thought, as I walked out of the nurse's office. I saw Jane walking towards me. She was probably going to visit her boyfriend Dane. I felt a pang in my chest.
I slowed down, hoping to avoid her, but it was too late. She was already walking towards me. I looked up, trying not to show my fear. My heart raced faster.
"Damn, why do I still feel this way about her, after what happened?" I thought, shivering.
Jane was walking with her hands in her pockets, lost in thought. When we were about to cross paths, we heard a loud explosion. She jerked her head up, surprised, and looked behind her, where the sound came from.
"What is it?" she asked, getting into a fighting stance.
I stood there, stunned by her reaction. I answered her, "I-I think it's a fight, you know," in a shaky voice.
"Oh, really?" she said, relaxing. "It's just that I felt a sense of danger," she added.
I stayed silent, wondering why she was talking to me with her back turned. "Does she respect me now, because I beat Dane?" I thought, brushing my head and nodding at her.
I glanced at the window, and saw something outside. She walked past me, and said, "Nice match."
"Huh?" I said, caught off guard by her compliment. I smiled and said, "Thanks," and kept walking.
After five steps, my heart soared, and then suddenly dropped. I felt a cold chill in my body, and my insides twisted.
"Danger," a voice echoed in my mind. I instinctively charged up my body and turned around. I jumped towards Jane, grabbing her, and broke the window. We fell three stories to the ground.
Jane pushed me away, her face shocked by what I did. She summoned her ice crystals.
"What the hell are you doing?" she asked, looking at me. I pointed at the window we broke. A woman in a leather jacket and pants was falling towards us, with lava in her hands. She landed on the ground and crouched, face down. Some lava spilled on the ground and bushes, starting a fire
The woman laughed, towering over us. She was tall, about six foot eight, with a stitched scar over her right eye and short hair. Her voice was deep and raspy, and she grinned as she stretched her neck.
"We're dead," I thought, staring at the giant woman.
"Jane Frost and the brat who beat her fiancé, hmm, and the boy who beat her fiancé," she said, cracking her knuckles.
I stepped back, feeling her presence overwhelm me. I looked at Jane, but she seemed unfazed.
"What's your name, boy?" she asked, looking at me. I stayed silent.
"Sigh. I guess that's not how it works. Let me introduce myself. My name is Jean, and I'm the same age as you," she said, smiling.
Jane didn't say anything, and I mumbled, "Y-yeah, n-nice to m-meet y-you, m-ma'am."
She giggled and said, "I want you to come with me, Jane and my cute boy." She walked towards us.
I backed away, and then I saw a guard running towards us. I felt relieved, but then Jean raised her hand and smirked. She shot a blast of lava at him, and he burned and died on the spot. I could see his body smoking and smell his charred flesh.
"Sorry for the interruption. As I was saying, come with me," she said, wiping her hands.
I was scared, powerless, and hopeless. I saw Jane raise her hand and say to me, "Don't worry, you saved me, I'll save you now." She summoned a barrage of ice arrows and took a defensive stance. The air turned freezing cold.
"Ah, you're going to resist," Jean said, covering her hands with lava again. She took a fighting position, too.
I backed away some more.
"SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT!" Jean shouted, charging at Jane.
Meanwhile…
Ashylene, Dwayne, and Sandra were busy evacuating the people and the students from the school. They were already acutely aware of the unfolding situation and the imminent dangers it posed.
"Guys, we have to find Tinashe after this," Dwayne shouted to Ashylene and Sandra as he led people out of the arena.
They finished evacuating and ran towards the nurse's office building. But then they were stopped by two guys who jumped in front of them.
"Ashylene Void, Sandra Lerylin, and the school's number five, Dwayne," one of the men said, as they both wore black hoods.
"We are from the Orime group, and we are here to take the three of you with us," they said in unison, as they slowly removed their hoods.
"The twins, " Ashylene said as he faced narrowed down into a serious expression.
