“The first step is you, Silver. You will draw them in. You’re their target, after all.”
Silver stepped forward, casually walking into the city streets. Activating her magic, a long, sharp spear formed within her hand. Silver grabbed her spear as sparks scattered around it, civilians gasping at the sight. As Rachel predicted, the AMG appeared before her, each of them clearly have been waiting as the four from before surrounded her. Silver stood unyielding as they approached, sensing the gaze of two others somewhere far off. Civilians cleared off rather quickly, emptying the area of bystanders as the four closed in. Silver stared forward within the silence, her expression blank, as she waited for their move.
“Wait for them to make the first move, we are not bad guys here and we will solidify that,” Rachel’s order echoed.
Within a fraction of a second, everyone moved. It was as if time had slowed as the AMG each charged towards Silver. Wielding her spear, Silver acted quickly, stabbing into the ground and propelling yourself upward, effectively dodging their collective attack before swinging her spear back down upon them.
The blast blew each of them back, Jace firing his pistol as he fell. Silver easily deflected the shots with her spear as Takashi snuck behind her for his attack. Silver defended with her spear, before throwing him back into his teammates.
Silver jabbed at Calen as he sped forward, cutting his cheek as he dodged her attack, before Silver wacked him in the gut with the end of her spear. Calen was thrown back as Silver turned her focus towards Aaren, aiming a jab at his chest. Dodging Silver’s spear, Aaren ignited his sword’s magic and in turn threw out a jab of his own. Silver blocked, the attack hitting the pole of Silver’s spear, before it shattered her weapon into splinters. Using the opportunity, Aaren prepared a jab once more, this time for the killing blow to finish Silver off as his teammates charged from behind.
Slice!
Aaren’s eyes widened as Silver blew all four of them back with a perfectly new spear in hand.
So, she can make a new one that fast, Aaren thought, sliding back to his feet.
“Don’t tell me that’s all you’ve got?” Silver questioned with a bored tone as she stood there waiting.
All four of them growled before proceeding to attack once more, this time with more animosity. Silver seemingly danced around them, her and her spear perfectly fluid within her movements as she collectively countered all four of the AMG members at once. Her spear swung, jabbed, and deflected attack after attack, as Silver easily controlled the flow of the battle.
From a distance, Sage and Koen adjusted their scopes, preparing to snipe from their position. Their eyes remained focused as they carefully followed the flow of the battle in front of them, waiting for their moment to strike. A sudden sound echoed behind the two, causing them to flinch as whipped around to find the source of the sound. However, when they turned around, they were surprised to find… no one there.
“Sorry, but we can’t have you interfering today.”
The whisper echoed within their ears, causing a chill to run down the boy’s spines. But before they could turn around, the both of them were backhanded, swatted away like flies as they rolled across the rooftop. Koen’s com link fell from his ear from the harsh hit, rolling away just as Jace tried to contact them.
“Koen, Sage, do you read? Where is our support?”
Stepping forward as she stalked closer, Karla smashed the com link beneath her shoe as grinned down at the two beneath her.
“Step two, Karla hunts down our dear snipers, and keeps them out of Silver’s way.”
Karla smiled, her figure hidden within the sun’s shadow, as she stood over the two snipers, “Sorry boys, but playtimes over.”
Jace growled, no response coming from the other line as Koen and Sage stood their own ground, the twins preoccupied with their battle against Karla. Jace turned around, and sped back to get some distance, hoping he could snipe at Silver to make it easier for the others. Suddenly however he slipped, falling to the ground in surprise. Looking down, he noticed a thin layer of ice underneath him before he suddenly noticed more ice heading towards his feet.
Jumping back and flipping to his feet, he dodged the incoming ice attack. Turning to the source, he noticed something small and blue dart into the shadows of a nearby alleyway, giggling as it disappeared. Jace’s eyes narrowed. Twisting the lock on the braces on his wrist, Jace suddenly teleported, appearing right above the spot he saw May disappear to, aiming his pistols for a clear shot.
What took him by surprise however was that despite her situation, May was smiling. It wasn’t until too late that Jace sensed the threat behind him and turned in surprise. Jace was thrown off guard just enough by May as it distracted him from who was behind him. Kiara swooped in behind him and kicked him hard, sending him flying back into the fight with Silver. Silver in turn, took the opportunity to swiftly hit Jace with the pole of her spear knocking him out cold in a matter of seconds, as he was thrown into the nearby wall.
Noticing Jace get knocked back, Calen turned his attention to the other two when Mizu suddenly whipped out a trail of water between the buildings to attack Calen. Calen swiftly slid underneath the attack, effectively dodging it before he slipped on some ice underneath him. Calen slid on the ice trying to grab his bearings when he noticed Kiara at the end of the ice trail. Calen tried to defend himself, but Kiara was too quick, kicking Calen away swiftly like a hockey puck. Calen landed right next to Jace as the two groaned, bruised, but not ready to give up yet as the got back up to face the other three who had disappeared back into the shadows.
“Step three; Kiara, Mizu, and May will guard the parameter. Drive them paranoid and use the shadows as your ally. They can either fight Silver, or stay down and watch.”
Back with the twins, Koen fired his grenade launcher as Sage prepared his snipe shot. The grenade exploded before them; fire consuming Karla’s entire being before she stepped out with a yawn.
“Seriously? Are those the greatest flames you can manage? They taste awful,” Karla spoke, sticking her tongue out in disgust as she ate them.
Koen grinded his teeth in frustration before firing several more grenades. They each exploded over and over on Karla, but none of them seemed to affect her in the slightest. Keon grew more frustrated with every shot, “Does nothing affect her?”
Giving him a clear shot, Sage fired at Karla’s vital points only to retract back in surprise as the shots bounced off of her.
“That’s impossible,” Sage muttered.
“Sorry boys, but I’m afraid…” Karla grinned, the flames hiding her form before she disappeared.
“You were just a bad match up with me,” Karla whispered now behind them.
Within the next second, before the can twins could do anything, Karla grabbed the back of their heads and proceeded to slam them both into the ground. The twins cried out in pain, but thanks to their training, they weren’t completely knocked out cold. Groaning, they tried to get up, but Karla stomped down on them harshly, leaving both of them completely pinned in a perfect position to watch as Silver and the rest took care of their comrades.
“Sit back and watch boys. The show is only beginning,” Karla grinned.
Silver blocked Takashi’s attack from above, pivoting her stance before flinging him away once more. Aaron charged right towards her to exchange a harsh blow, Silver blocking it as the two exchanged quick and speedy strikes, moving across the city street at astounding speed as dust kicked up from their battle.
Effortlessly, Silver easily disarmed Aaren, knocking his sword out of his hand with a strike from her spear, his sword flying back into the ground behind him. Silver then jabbed Aaren in the chest with end of her spear before spinning her spear in hand, and batting him back next to his sword.
“Amateur,” Silver muttered, turning away from him as Silver turned her focus back on the other three, as if not even acknowledging him as a threat.
Aaren growled, pulling his sword from the ground as I stood up and shot towards Silver. Within a blink of an eye, Aaren shot forwards, his sword inching closer to Silver as he put all his speed into this attack.
This time, however, his sword was stopped in his tracks, by a small sphere of magic energy before him. Wielding the magic energy sphere was a new figure who had suddenly emerged from the battles dust clouds. Blasted back as the magic sphere was crushed before him, Aaren slid back, looking up towards his new opponent. Rachel stepped forward, standing tall and unyielding, as she glared down, her blue eyes sharpened with a hint of purple magic.
“Finally, step four; Silver will knock the leader out of the pack, allowing me to deal with him personally.”
