"It truly is a pleasure to meet you Princess of Dragons" the queen of Angeria said stepping forward.
"Princess of Dragons?" I questioned "the name the nobles of Geria and Angeria have begun calling you" the queen replied. "How intriguing" I said. "Please do come inside we've prepared a room for you to rest in before we begin discussions" the king said. "How kind" I said as I began to follow them.
They had a servant lead me and Salana to adjoining rooms. "The king said to rest for for the night and ye shall meet in the morning, if you wish to go for a walk you may enter the garden" the young maid said as she bowed to me. I gave her a slight nod "thank you" I said and she quickly left closing the door behind her.
I sighed and turned to Salana. "I believe I'll wash first" I said "did you want me to prepare you a bath princess?" She asked. I shook my head "I lived as a Commoner for 3 years, I can prepare my own bath but I thank you" I said and she nodded, then went to her room.
I quickly cleaned up and changed then layed on the bed. I just stared at the ceiling for a bit before I decided I couldn't sleep, tho I was exhausted. I got up from the bed and wrapped a light blanket around me, the night would be cold. I then put on some slippers and quietly slipped out of my room.
I made my way to the garden and began to slowly walk around, looking at the flowers. It was indeed cold, but stars filled the sky. As I continued to walk I came across a small fountain. A man stood by it, he was tall and his hair appeared blonde, he turned and looked at me. "Who are you" he asked obviously suspicious of me. "I apologize if I startled you Im..." I said but was suddenly cut off, when he appeared infront of me, he pushed me lightly against the garden wall, and held a knife to my neck. "Sh not a sound not if you want to keep that lovely neck of yours" he said in an alluring tone. not moving from my spot, i just stared at him. "Ah your the princess of zera" he said looking me up and down.
"Yes" I said. "And your Prince Theodore heir to the Angerian Thorne" I continued. He released me from his hold and took a step back. "It's an honor that the princess of Dragons knows my name" she said as he continued to look at me."That truly is an odd name to call someone" I said."but the people love it" he said "it makes you sound powerful" he added.
"Is there a reason you held a blade to my neck?" I asked changing the subject as I took a few steps closer to him. "Perhaps I wished to scare you" he said, I smiled "I have dragons not many things can scare me" I said. Suddenly the familiar sound of wings flapping filled my ears as I noticed Nyx and Drazyn flying in circles above us.
"It seems your Dragons have become worried for you" Theodore said staring up at them. "It seems so" I replied. "I must admit they are magnificent Beasts" he said "they are not beasts" I told him "they are much more then that" I added. "How so?" He asked looking at me. I then looked at him and just stared at him for a moment. "A beast is exactly what they are" he added. "Perhaps in a way. But no matter how big they get or dangerous they'll become I know they will never do what isn't needed, they are far to smart, I'd call them human if they weren't obviously dragons" I explained.
"What a unique perspective princess" he said. "Well it's late I'd be honored if you allowed me to escort you back to your room" he said holding out his hand. I just looked at it for a moment before I took it. "The honor is mine" I said.
He slowly walked me to my room, and we continued to talk. It wasn't long before we reached the door to my room and we just stood infront of it for a moment, "I shall see you in the morning princess" he said then kissed my hand. "You may call me Mari" I told him he looked up at me then stood up straight lightly releasing my hand as he gave a light smile. "Theo" he said "what?" I questioned. "You may call me Theo... Mari" he said. "Then I wish you a good rest... Theo" I said with slight hesitation, then quickly slipped into my room, closing the door behind me.
I leaned against the door for a moment, my cheeks warm and obviously red. How in the world did he make me blush so, I thought. I quickly shook it off and walked to my bed. I quickly got under the covers and laid on my side, closing my eyes as tight as possible. Please let morning come quickly.
And so it did. I woke up with the sun, as a small group of maid piled in the room. "We are here to help you change Princess" one maid said. I slowly got up from the bed and washed my face in a bowl of water they had brought in with them then dried it with a small Towel.
They picked out a nice simple green dress and helped me change into it, then as one brushed my hair another did some light makeup to make me look presentable. By the time they were done preparing me it was around 9 in the morning. "How do I look" I asked as I turned to the maids. "Absolutely gorgeous princess" they said at the same time. "Good then let me be off" I said as I turned to the door.
The game was about to begin and by no means would I lose.
