I was about to explain to kia how I was planning to meet my brother when she suddenly hung up on me. She's definitely worrying about me. Aww, I miss my best friend now. Now that I'm still in airport I miss her bad and hard. I need to get off this place as soon as possible. The blue sky started to wear shades of orange, violet and Prussian. I called a taxi and gave him my brothers address. He simply nodded.
He helped me with luggage when I thankfully remembered my amulet. I took a minute to fiddle through my belongings and finally found it. Wearing it back, I hopped into the passenger seat. In a minute, the engine roared and I was in awe with the surroundings.
Huge skyscrapers looked as if they are the pillars holding sky from falling. The vehicles looked as if they are straight out of kids play race. The people, oh my god! are all around. The street performers, Vendors, Delivery guys, Stallers, kids with huge grins, what not. This city definitely stands up for its name. THE SLEEPLESS CITY!
"I assume you are enjoying the ride" the driver spoke for the first time. He is a little taller than me. he looks fine built and pale skin tone. He has light brown hair, long jawline, peculiar amber eyes with a red lining that were shinny to the flash lights.
"I am of course" He kept stealing glances at me through the rear view mirror from time to time. I paid no attention to him and was enjoying myself. the ride was quite and comfortable with me taking in the beautiful views around and I didn't realize how 30 minutes went by and I was in front of a huge building. Its huge. It has about 25 floors and by the look of it, may be there are at least 10 houses per floor.
Imagine a building home for about 250 families housing about 1000 people. Wow!
I paid him and he helped me with my luggage to the lift.
" I can help you with the luggage off the lift if you want" he offered. I nodded and mumbled a thankyou. We entered the lift and he closed the doors and looked at me. I frowned at him as my brain's fuse was reluctantly working at it's best, note the sarcasm. when I came to my senses I finally understood he was actually waiting for me to press the exact floor button.
oh! my dumbness! he had a smirk on by the time I realized I was staring right back at him in the eye. I want the lift walls to swallow me right now. Was it not awkward enough to travel 30 minutes with a stranger that I stared him right in the eye?
The elevator's tone brought me off my thoughts. Enough of embarrassing deeds today, I mocked myself internally. He helped me with the luggage to the unit I pointed and left. I rang the bell excitedly.
"ding dong" there is no response. I rang the bell again and again, and again but in vain, no response from the other side. I thought of my final weapon, took my phone out and gave him a call which went straight to the voice mail. I frowned in confusion. He never switched his mobile off.
I felt a chill run down my spine. Never ever I called and it went to voice mail. Strange! what do I do now? may be I should reach his base. He is a soldier after all, right? Things might be busy for him. He might be running around helping people, may be! yes, that must be it. I turned around to the empty hallway. The driver has left long time back. Ah! somebody help me with the luggage, please. It's damn heavy.
I dragged my luggage back to the lift and went to the ground floor. I somehow managed to pull my luggage off the lift. Ha! Its now time to search for another taxi. I was wondering if I could get one soon when I actually found one. Thank the universe for the little luck hanging on my side. "Taxi!" I called and greeted the same face that dropped me to this building from airport.
wow! just wow! now its going to be another awkward long drive." how can I help you?" he asked me with his gaze fixed on my luggage. " I need to go somewhere else" I gave him the address and he frowned looking at the paper. "I am not so sure about this place but I can try" he said in a tone of question. I nodded and he took care of my luggage and we set off!

I was standing in front of a pair of huge iron gates standing about 7 feet in height. I wondered if anyone did a high jump over them. why were the gates so high? I felt like a Lilliput in front of them. A man in his middle age, looking like the brother of hulk, came to me to enquire my reason of visit. I gave him my identity and showed him a picture of me and my brother together. " His name is Andrew Blue. He works here. I am his younger sister. I am here for him."
the man went in to a small room with a few computers and files placed there. I waited for him patiently for what felt like a whole decade, but in reality he was back in 10 minutes and said "There is no Andrew Blue working in here. I am sorry." My eyes went wide and my heart started pounding. Fear consumed me. His flat is locked. His phone goes to voice mail. He doesn't work at the address he said he is working at. Do I even know my brother?
" can you please recheck?" I asked him.
" Umm, I happened to check it thrice already. sorry mam." he gave me a apologetic smile.
