It was now the day of the wedding. And I was ready. I stood in a dressing room staring at myself in the mirror. I wore a beautiful off the shoulder ballgown like wedding dress my hair was wavy and a vail was on my head. I never imagined this would be how I was to be wed. But it seems everything stopped going as planned long ago.
"Princess it's almost time" Salana said as she entered the room. "The dress is beautiful" she added. "I could care less about the dress" I said turning to her. "Mari it's alright if you wish to change your mind" salana said walking over to me. "No I mustn't if I back out now I will lose all potential power and trust I have" I told her.
"And it's not as if the prince is a bad person I'm sure he will make a grand husband" I said "I believe the prince truly likes you" salana said. "I have many doubts about that" I told her. "You haven't seen the way he looks at you" she said with a slight whisper.
~~~
"Theo if you wish to back out no one will blame you after all you barely know this girl" my mother said pacing back and fourth. "I refuse mother" I said "not only does Mari need us but we need her as well, I'm sure father couldn't have thanked the gods enough for sending her here" I told her.
She stopped then looked st me "you call her Mari" my mother said annoyance written all over her face. "We will be wed in less then an hour we call eachother how we please" I told her "now if you don't mind leaving I must finish preparing" I said as I turned to the window.
She then stormed out of the room slamming the door behind her.
"Hunter" I said, it took only a second for the shadow knight to appear beside me. "Yes your highness?" He said as he kneeled to the ground. "How's Mari?" I asked "she is currently preparing" hunter answered. "I looked at him with a glare "that wasn't My question" I said. "My apologies your highness, she seems to be unsure of something, perhaps worried" he said.
"And my mother, has she tried anything yet?" I asked turning away from him. "She has made an attempt to humiliate her" he answered again. "Keep an eye on my mother as well, make sure she doesn't do anything to actually hurt Mari" I told him. "And one more thing" I said "have my sword prepared, if I am to go with Mari I must be prepared" I added. "Yes your highness" hunter said, then vanished.
Marianna was the key to my plan. Her and her Dragons were exactly what I needed and if help her to achieve her goals Just so happens to help me then so be it.
"Your highness... it's time" Salana said said as she stood in the door way. "Yes I suppose it is" I said turning to her. We walked slowly down the hallway together until we reached the doors the guards were standing at. "Open the doors" I said, and so they did. The isle seemed a mile long, nobles filled the seats along side it, and I could see Theo at the end of it staring at me. The music Began to play and I began to slowly walked.
"She's more beautiful then the rumors", "so she is the princess of Dragons", "I expected more" all sorts of whispers began to fill my ears as I continued to walk. It felt like an eternity before I finally made it to the end where Theo was holding out his hand to me. I lightly took it. "You look absolutely stunning" he whispered in my ear as I walked up the 3 steps to the alter.
Theo wore a beautiful blue suit, it was simple but made of expensive fabric, you could tell just by looking at him his status was no lower then a Duke.
"Here we gather to see this man and woman be wed under the eyes of god" the priest said projecting his voice for all to hear. "Today we all shall bear witness to their love, and God shall be the one to decide if they will fit well within eachothers life. What is it this man loves so much about God? I thought to my self as he continued to spew more nonsense, none of which he was actually supposed to say.
"Do you Prince Theodore Zeus Angeria take this woman to be your wife, to protect, cherish and hold for the rest of your life" the priest said "I do" Theo said with a smile as he looked me in the eyes. "And do you Princess Marianna Aneris Sengrid Take this man to be your husband, to protect, cherish and hold, for the rest of you life" the priest then asked me "I do" I said looking at Theo in his big blue eyes.
"You may now kiss your highnesses" the priest finally finished. Theo did not hesitate to pull me into a kiss. It wasn't short but was not long. It was only a few seconds before he released my lips and grabbed my hand holding it up.
"YOUR FUTURE QUEEN" he yelled, causing the crowd to cheer. I couldn't help but chuckle at his sudden enthusiasm. I had yet to see this side. Perhaps there would even be more sides of him I could see like this.
He put our hands down then brought my hand up to his lips and kissed it "shall we go my princess?" He asked "we shall" I said with a chuckle and began to pull him down the isle as I smiled.
Suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my abdomen causing me to stop. "Mari?" Theo said with a worried look on his face. I looked down to see an arrow in my abdomen. "It seems I've been shot with an arrow" I said looking back up at Theo, as I slowly began to fall to the ground. That was when I heard the dragons roar.
