Despite the boiling feeling in his heart for Lady Eve for cursing him to look like this, he noticed that some of his senses had improved. His wolf-like ears twitched as if they were ears of a wild animal hearing its prey as the man cried out for help. Asukem thought he had got everyone out safely, but he was mistaken as he listened to the man's plea for help. He didn't waste any time. He rushed like an older sibling or parent, ready to rescue their family member.
The man was covered in rubble and was trapped under a fallen wall and stone from buildings in the town. Asukem moved the collapsed wall with ease as it was weightless. The man scurried out of the rest of the stone and wood from the building as he saw Asukem. His eyes widened in terror and fear as he yelled in panic, "Somebody! Anybody! Help me!"
Asukem tried to calm the man down, but his facial expressions weren't easy to look at as he said, "Hey, hold on. I am not here to harm you but to help." Asukem smiles as he puts his human hand out, trying to show him a helping gesture, but his smile still looks sinister, like he wants to eat him.
The man looks at Asukem's helping gesture with his hand. "Are you sure? You look like you need a snack," the man questions Asukem, still frightened and unsure.
Asukem answers him with a smirk that makes him look more sinister, "Trust me, you're not my type."
The man smiles and gulps, swallowing his fear, hand still trembling in fear and pain from the debris. He grabs Asukem's hand but adds, "That isn't reassuring." Asukem shows another smirk that makes him look wicked, "I know."
Asukem wrapped the man's arms around him. The man hurt and grins his teeth but giggles a bit, trying to fight off the pain, "You know you're not so bad for a monster. Asukem stares at the scenery, trying to find a decent spot to get the man, so he can recover, but adds, "oh yeah? Well, you're not so bad yourself, mister."
In seconds, Asukem saw a group of townspeople walking towards him. However, he noticed they were not walking. It seemed they were marching. It was an angry mob, ready to die to protect their home, which was in ruins. They saw Asukem, but they did not recognize him.
The townsfolk confronted Asukem with hatred and hostile actions. Franklin was in the mob as his voice carried above everyone else's demanding, "What the Great horrors are you doing here, Demon! what else can you take from us!" Franklin then follows up by unsheathing his swords, ready to attack.
The man that was hanging on Asukem was still in pain, but his consensus was weary. Looks at Franklin and says, defending Asukem, but with a slur as if he was drinking, "Hold up, he saved my life. I don't think he is those monsters that attacked the town."
Franklin hessites and slowly sheaths his swords as he asks the maiming questions, "Then what is he, and why is he here?"
Unfortunately, the man felt unconscious and started to slide down Asukem's side. Asukem lifted him up again, catching him, and said in a concerning voice, "Woah there!" Asukem looked at Franklin and added, "Can we talk about this later, Franklin? This man needs serious help!"
Franklin looks surprised as Asukem, in his monster form, says his name, as he never told him his name. he says, "Um, yeah." Franklin was still determining Asukem but helped him otherwise. They took a man to a building that seemed untouched by the damages of the attack. They lay the man on the floor as someone in the mob patched up the man. Franklin was unsure and concerned, with questions racing in his mind as he stared at Asukem, trying to recognize him, but he couldn't.
Asukem looks back at Franklin as he asks, "Is something wrong, Franklin?" completely forgetting how he looks.
Asukem realized he looked different and added, "Oh right, I turned ugly, it's me, Asukem!"
Franklin's eyes widened in shock at Asukem as he said, "What in the great divines' name? What happened to you? Giving a hint of non-belief.
Asukem answers him, also not sure of the situation, "That, I do not know, but I want to find out and why?" his voice turns into a growl as his anger slightly builds up, not knowing the answers for himself.
Franklin walks to an opening of the ruined building and looks at the scenery and the outside wreckage. Franklin punches the wall in frustration as he is in a rage, and also, he has a little faith in believing it is Asukem, like he is testing him. "These monsters destroyed our home and changed a member of our townspeople. Even though you were poor and a street thug, this is unforgivable."
Asukem was looking at Franklin with a concerned, shocked look, as he was not expecting such an honest response. He looks down at his demonic arm and monstrous claw. Clenching it into a fist, he could feel Franklin's concerned protest.
Franklin turns around with tears and his voice breaking as he wants to believe it was Asukem throwing the hint he missed him. He was sorry for everything that happened to him, "But you lost more people you loved, and I am sorry. I have failed you, Asukem, and I hope you can forgive me!"
Asukem's eyes widened in shock and surprise at Franklin's actions. He answers him as he gently puts his hand on his shoulder and looks at him with a gentle, friendly look, which is when Franklin sees the image of Asukem in his human form, "Franklin, how can you say that when you didn't do anything wrong. I will not blame you for the death of Isabella or Bob. It is not your fault."
Franklin shook his head in non-belief and tried to understand Asukem, "I treated you like low-life scum. How can you forgive me so easily?" Asukem being so forgiving caught Franklin off-guard. he felt a surge of guilt and remorse for his past actions. How could he forgive him so easily? Franklin didn't understand and was at a loss for words as he blankly looked at Asukem.
Asukem smiles gently and replies to him, "Franklin, we train together. Do you think a little hiccup in our past will destroy my respect for you? You taught me to be brave and strong in rough situations."
Franklin's eyes widen in shock as he says, "You respect me that much, That You'll throw away a degrading action from me?"
Asukem agrees but adds, "Just don't push it."
As Franklin and Asukem talked, the townsfolk were surprised by what they overheard. Fear sunk into their hearts, knowing that it was indeed Asukem. They insulted him beside the nobles, and they were scared for their life, as they knew how Asukem would treat them.
Franklin looks back at the townsfolk but asks, still looking away from Asukem, "What about them? Can you forgive them?"
Asukem answers him in a growl as if he didn't like how the conversation was going, "I cannot. They have to earn my respect back!" his voice picks up as if annoyed.
Suddenly, a surge of despair crept in with a deathly white fog, and black clouds rolled in with flashes and booming lightning and thunder, summoning a surge of anger in the air. Franklin and Asukem heard an echoing voice demanding, "Where is he? Where is that beast! It's his fault, all his fault!"
Asukem, an 18-year-old orphan from Rikros, is transformed into a sinkin by an evil demon who wields power to torment souls with her lust. Ah'keim, a powerful being with a mysterious ulterior motive, mentors him as he struggles to regain his humanity and undo the damage caused by the female demon. With the help of new friends who try to help him escape his fate as a sinkin, Asukem sets out to fight the void and gain control over his powers, all while seeking redemption for his past sins.
