Valleys and Mountains, Random Thoughts From a Christ Centered Heart

God

What brings people to God? It’s a good question truly. And some people might ask, ‘Why do you even believe that there is a God? This too, is a good question to ask.

If we see a building, we know that there is a builder… If we see a painting we know there is a painter. If you saw a bike leaning on a tree in the forest, and someone looked at you and told you that that bike had an owner and a maker. You would believe it, yes? Even if you had never seen the owner of the bike, nor the maker of it.

These things are natural to us, we know that a bike has a builder, because even though we might’ve never seen someone building that bike, there is still too much order regarding the bike’s existence for it to not have a maker.

A bike has wheels to move it, gears to turn its wheels, pedals to move those gears, and so on.

Simply put…

Bikes are complex.

And they are complex, because they are made for, and with, a purpose.

So why, is it so easy for us to see this simple concept, and then decide that we are special enough to be outside of it? Especially since we, as living beings, are far more complex than a manmade bike.

Simply take a look at all the processes that must come together perfectly, every single time, just for a baby to be formed! Egg and sperm must meet, both egg and sperm must be viable, and every piece of them must have the necessary parts for even the beginning, of the fertilization process to come to form!

The sperm’s tail must be of proper length to propel it forward. The mitochondria must be strong enough to provide the energy needed, to bring that sperm up the uterus and into the fallopian tube. The head must be streamlined enough to add the least amount of resistance, while also being large enough to carry the necessary genetic material, and yet small enough to not blast through all the mitochondria’s energy. The Acrosome must be of just the right makeup and amount, to allow the sperm to make it fully through the wall of the egg before the energy of the mitochondria wears out, and there’s so much more!

Not to mention that this is only one small part, of an incredibly complex process that lasts about 10 months, simply to develop a far more complex form that can last potentially 80, 90, maybe even 100 years!

And yet we speak of it like we do the weather, and often forget just how many things need to go so completely right. Because we are used to it rarely going so horribly wrong. Oh yes, we know that it can go wrong. But we don’t stew over it unless it’s in our family history, now do we?

Nothing about a living being is simple.

However, everything about a living being has order.

Patterns, if you will.

Webster’s Dictionary states that a ‘pattern suggests a clear and detailed archetype or prototype.’

If we were truly made through randomness, then there would be no order, no pattern.

And yet even random generators are made with a purpose.

Made with a purpose, and made by people who are so intricately tied together with order and pattern, that the fabric of their very being cannot be separated from it. That they must fight a truly vicious battle, to even find a randomness that doesn’t rely on patterns.

2+2= 4

Pattern.

But if true randomness existed, then 2+2= 4327, could also be true. An Elephant and an Elephant could get together and create a dog, a tree, or even a human itself.

…But then…

Doesn’t this mean to imply that the pattern must be following a ‘law’ of sorts? A standard that it must abide by?

And if there is a law, then don’t you assume that there is a lawmaker? A Lawgiver?

So… If there isn’t true randomness in this world, and all things have a pattern to the point that our human brains struggle to even imagine a world without it. Then that means that there must be a law, or order, that this world abides by. And if there is order and law in this world, then it must be made by a Lawgiver.

Not only that, but the mere fact that there are patterns in this world, means that through those patterns, something complex can be made. And all complex things are so, because they have been made for a purpose.

And since they have a purpose, then wouldn’t you also expect them to have a Purpose-Maker?

Now the question is, who is the Lawgiver? Who is the Purpose-Maker?

With the bike. A bike is a complex creation, made with a purpose, by someone who isn’t a bike.

Does the bike decide what its purpose is? And if so, and it carries out what it believes its purpose is, but not what it was made for.

Then wouldn’t you expect it to fail?

A bike can’t be used to pour water into a glass now can it? We have water pitchers for that.

Thus, wouldn’t you expect it to not be able to find success or true joy, no matter how hard it tried? Because it’s doing things outside of what it was made for?

A bike’s purpose isn’t decided by the bike. It’s decided by its Maker.

...

But that isn’t something people like to hear, now is it?

This is just something that I felt God calling me to do. I have no idea where it will take me, or if it will even go anywhere. I just hope that this can inspire someone like how the Lord inspired me.

This has no real pattern or story, I'm simply posting things as they come up. Maybe one day I can organize it, but for now, I need to at least start. Lest I accept defeat before the fight begins.
