"...No thank you."
As I heard those words just roll of the humans tongue it left me in a panic, since no matter what it would cost us I needed to get this human on board with the plan.
While trying my best yet failing to hold back the continuously growing panic I ask in a shaky voice "May I ask why."
After contemplating his answer for a short while he responds
"First I really don't want to reincarnate into a world that has mostly been destroyed and hence has a lost a lot of the technology I enjoy on a daily basis, regardless of the intriguing powers I may obtain it would be a hassle to live day to day."
"Second While my novel did serve as an outlet for my stress that outlet is no longer needed since I have I am finished with my schooling, which leads me to my third point."
"I just finished 12 years worth of school and I want to enjoy living a slow life for a few years before I start looking for a job and reincarnating now wouldn't really help with that "slow life" In fact it would hinder it."
After hearing this humans three reason the first thing that came to my mind was how realistic he was being, of course over the few millennium we have been doing this their have been authors that rejected our offers but their reason for rejecting were because they didn't believe what was happening and in the past some thought we were devils trying to tempt them, yet this human is rejecting just so he can live an easier life.
"Anyways now that you know my reasons can you leave I have to get ready since I have a meeting I need to intend pertaining my graduation, so goodbye."
After saying this the human got off his bed before tripping over the trash on his floor, his eyes went cold and in monotonous voice he said "Oh I forgot about this." He looked at me before continuing "Why are you not surprised."
"It's just trash, so what if you aren't the best at cleaning up after yourself."
He looked surprised at my response, but it still didn't seem to change his answer since he pointed towards his window signaling me to leave while he entered into his kitchen and started preparing something.
"Um..."
At the end of my wits I had to do something drastic after enlarging my figure and getting on my knees I begged "PLEASE RECONSIDER!"
The human then looked up from what he was doing and was surprised, I don't know if this was because of my plea or because he was shocked at how I enlarged myself but he then asked.
"Why are you so desperate, can't you just pick someone else's story?"
"Um... you see.. we made a tiny mistake. While usually we would create the world after the author had died and then reincarnate them into the world, we ran into a tiny misunderstanding and already created the world and since you weren't placed in the world immediately after it's creation it was unstable and drastic changes happened."
I paused to gather the confidence and humility needed to tell this human about the consequences of our mistake.
"If we leave it as it is the newly created universe will deteriorate before collapsing on itself taking with it all the nearest universes including yours so could you please help us out."
CLANK
After I finished explaining myself I heard a sound of metal hitting the floor to which I look up to see the human with his mouth agape for while until finally a loud voice filled the small living quarters.
"YOU IDIOT LEAD WITH THAT NEXT TIME!"
