Wielder Of Fate
Chapter 5: God's Chosen Emperor
***
By the fourth hour, I started to wonder whether the abyss was endless.
Floating mindlessly in pitch darkness had never been on my bucket list, but it did give me ample time to reflect on what the god had just said.
***
Four hours earlier
“You want me to do what?” I shouted.
I had never been one to raise my voice at strangers, mother had always taught me to remain polite when meeting new people, but what this self-proclaimed god had just asked me to do would be enough to make even the most trustworthy man skeptical.
I felt cheated, I felt tricked, I felt manipulated. I would never have chosen the second option if i had of known this was the only way I could change my fate.
It seemed as though I didn’t have much of a choice. This strange thing believed I was capable of it, it* even began encouraging me to find it, but then again, why should I trust it.
It looked to be my only chance to live a full and exciting life. So I accepted.
The god bellowed in excitement, “Very good” he proclaimed.
The world around me seemed to change, was this the gods doing? The empty, white floor was suddenly replaced with luscious green fields. A warm, vibrant sun emerged over the hills, illuminating the area for miles on end. While a variety of colorful flowers dotted the plains. The god was happy.
Why did he care so much?, I thought to myself. It seemed strange that he was so invested in my life, surely the average person wouldn’t be presented with an opportunity like this.
The god motioned for me to sit, a beautiful, antique padded chair appeared out of nowhere. The god also slumped back into his own throne.
“I will provide you with three gifts, use them to find the sword of fate, nestled in the deepest part of the demon continent.” It explained.
“Your first gift will be an advancement in all of your stats and abilities. You will unlock all forms of magic, and you will begin on the level of a royal guard in every single one, as well as display incredible awareness, intelligence and physical attributes, to the extent that is incomprehensible to the average human being. Your ability to grow in your mastery of magic will be infinite, your potential endless.” It added.
“Your second gift, will come in the form of an angel. You will find her before you leave Jakreth. She will be a close friend and an even mightier fighter.”
“Finally, your third gift will be this pouch”. It held up a small, seemingly ordinary pouch.
”The pouch serves as a double purpose, it can store an infinite amount of objects, weapons and items. To take out a particular item, just visualize what you want to withdraw and it will appear in your hand”.
“The second purpose of the pouch is to transport you between this world; a boundless environment limited only by your imagination, to the real world, and vise versa. This place can be used as a training ground, dungeon, anything you can think of, it is your own private domain.”
The god stood up, opened the pouch and beckoned me to walk inside. “Prepare well, my friend, the journey between worlds is not a short one.” It chuckled. I stood up from the chair and walked over to the portal, it instantaneously grabbed my shoulder and whispered “You are now Gods Chosen Emperor, do not disappoint me”
I stepped through the portal.
*It was used to describe the God in this chapter (just if you were confused).
