He went stiff for a moment, before she felt the steady breathing of his chest, heave up and down, and the strength of his arms envelop her in a hug. One gently supported her head against him, as the other held her at her mid-back. She felt his chin rest on top of her head, and her silent sobs became louder, her choking more prominent, and any strength she held her arms back from was lost as her palms found their way grabbing the front of his shirt, as her mascara rolled down her cheeks mixed with her salty tears.
“Who told you, you couldn’t be?” his soft voice asked, barely above a whisper, she wouldn’t have even heard it, had she not been so close to him. His mouth only inches above her ears, made it easier to hear that kind whisper, that only caused her to clutch onto him tighter, and step closer to him. She felt a minor movement of the hand on her head, as he began to stroke through her hair.
She didn’t know how long she had been standing there, as he stroked through her hair, waiting for her not-so-silent crying to stop, yet not saying anything more than the six words he had asked when she started crying. She never felt as embarrassed as she did when she choked out in sobs once more. He felt her stopping and began to let go of her, but she stepped closer to him, not wanting him to see her mascara stained face, her red eyes, and now runny nose. Her nails dug into his shirt as she tightened her grip on it.
She couldn’t wipe her eyes on his shirt, and even if she did, they were still red and swollen. He froze as he felt her grip tighten, and his hands hovered over her, yet not holding her back against him. She let out a sigh, and let go of his shirt, causing him to step back away from her. Before she lifted her head, she spun around so he couldn’t see her face. It was ugly after she cried, after all.
“Sua, are you okay?” he asked, running a hand on his chest where she had gripped him.
Quickly, she brought her arms up to her face, and tried to wipe away the tears, though failing miserably. “Yeah, I’m fine.”
She didn’t notice he was in front of her, until she felt his hands on her arms. He brought her arms down, and bent over slightly, so he could look into her eyes, “It’s okay to not be fine.”
“I look hideous right now, though.” she replied, her eyes still swollen.
He smiled, “I guess,” he let go of her arm, “but everyone does after they cry.”
“I guess that’s true,” she smiled, before dropping her head, “sorry for crying on you like that, I don’t know what came over me at that moment.”
“Eh,” he shrugged, “no biggie, you had to let out all that frustration somehow, right?” A cheerful smile lit up his face, yet contrasting his concerned eyes.
“Are you okay, though?” she mumbled, wanting to feel his comforting arms around her again, yet not wanting to try and push things any further.
“Yeah,” he chuckled, and stood up straight, “but it’s getting late, and…” his eyes widened, “Shit!” he slammed his hands to his head and turned away from her, “I forgot about that! Dang it!”
“Forgot about what?”
“Ugh,” he groaned, “Kira’s coming back from her tour tomorrow, and shit, she’ll be pissed that Haejun and I haven’t made up yet. Gosh, damn it!”
“Kira?” Sua repeated, “Titania Kira?” her eyes widened, “she’s at your agency?”
He blinked, “Yeah, and?”
“She’s amazing!” Sua smiled, “I didn’t know you knew her.”
“She’s not amazing,” Seonwoo groaned, “she’s a monster! I bet she could probably kick down the whole building, with a single kick!”
“A single kick?” a voice scared Sua. It was unknown to her, and subconsciously, she grabbed Seonwoo’s arm.
“Yeah, a single kick,” Seonwoo retorted, before turning his head in the direction the voice had come from, “Haejun.”
“Nah, man, she could probably kick down three buildings with a single kick.” the newcomer replied.
Seonwoo sighed, “yeah, probably. Make it four.”
“Five.” ‘Haejun’ as Sua assumed, responded back as he came up to them.
“Six!”
“Seve-” Haejun stopped, and looked behind the pink haired man she was clinging to, “Woah, woah, man, when’d ya get a girlfriend?”
When? Doesn’t he already have one? Sua thought to herself as she noticed her arms still tightly clinging to Seonwoo’s arm.
“Girlfriend?” Seonwoo repeated, “I don’t.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Haejun shrugged, “Haven’t met ya, yet.” he lifted a hand to Sua, “I’m Cho Haejun.”
“A cold demon.” Seonwoo mumbled.
“Sua.” Sua answered, refusing to give her last name, she didn’t want to be associated with it and whose it was anymore.
“Nice to meet ya.” Haejun smiled, “So how’d ya meet flame brain over here?” he gestured a thumb to Seonwoo.
“He helped me get away from the flirty Dragon.”
“What?” Haejun asked, looking at Seonwoo, before going back to her, “He… helped you get away from… Dragon, Phoenix Dragon?”
Seonwoo shrugged at Haejun’s question, opting out of explaining the situation.
“Hold up, can you repeat that?” Haejun shook his head, “You said that Seonwoo, here, helped you get away from the flirty Phoenix Dragon?”
“Yes,” Sua repeated, yawning. It had gotten really late, they were probably coming up to sunrise soon.
“How the hell did he do that?” Haejun yelled.
“I have no idea, but she treated me to food!” Seonwoo smiled.
“And when was Dragon flirty?” Haejun continued to yell.
“He had all the girls around him, and he was a huge flirt,” Sua sighed, “Why are you acting so surprised? He said he was from Seonwoo’s agency.”
“Seonwoo.” Haejun stated, seriously, “how the hell did you make two of yourself?”
“What?” Sua and Seonwoo asked simultaneously.
“I didn’t, what type of bullshit is that?” Seonwoo sighed.
“Two of himself? The guy didn’t look anything like Seonwoo. For one, his hair was dark, and he had tattoos up his neck.” Sua explained, “Dragon really annoyed the crap out of me, too.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Haejun stated, “he annoys the crap out of me, too.” he slit his eyes to Seonwoo.
“Yeah, well you annoy the shit out of me! You Ice Bastard!” Seonwoo exclaimed.
Haejun shrugged, finally understanding what happened, “Seonwoo, you said that there was someone going around using your name, right?”
“Ugh, yeah, making a bad name of MV Entertainment.” Seonwoo sighed, “Why is that important?”
“So wait!” Sua exclaimed, “When you said he was just some poser, he was pretending to be you?”
“Huh?” Seonwoo asked.
“The Phoenix Dragon guy we met because of.”
“Oh! Yeah, well, someone told me it was Yongsun, and it wasn’t it was just some stupid guy who wasn’t anything like Yongsun.”
“You met your imposter?” Haejun mumbled, “and you didn’t do anything about it?”
“Huh, yeah, I guess.”
“You acted maturely for once in your life?” Haejun nearly yelled.
“Wait…” Sua mumbled, “Seonwoo is Phoenix Dragon… The real one?”
Seonwoo and Haejun started arguing about something, but she started to put pieces together, ignoring them. Had she not insulted Phoenix Dragon on a daily basis because of that perverted flirty imposter? She was certain she even insulted Phoenix Dragon to his face. She couldn’t believe herself. The real guy was so much different than the other guy. The real one was so much kinder, more honest, goofy, caring, and… ridiculously handsome. She turned her eyes to him, well, sometimes he is, she held back a giggle as she watched him childishly fight with Haejun. He must be a close friend. A friend. She sighed, “I should get some rest, I have a lot to think about.”
“Leaving already?” Seonwoo asked, suddenly no longer interested in his brawl with his old time friend.
“It's late, Seonwoo,” she sighed, as she looked at her phone, 5:48 “Really, late. I need to get some rest, anyway.”
“Look what you did, Haejun, you scared her away.” Seonwoo accused his friend.
“More like you did that with your stupid head.” Haejun countered. “Need someone to walk you back?”
“No, I’m good.” Sua responded, faster than her mind could fully comprehend what he said.
“You headin’ home, young lady?”
I turned my attention to the voice who spoke to me, he was a taller middle aged man, and his smirk I had seen countless times before, on other men, “No, I’m fine, My boyfriend is picking me up at this cafe, actually.” I lied, gesturing to the cafe I had just walked out of, “Just seeing if he was here yet. Said he’d be here soon.”
“I’m sure he wouldn’t mind an adult waiting with ya.”
“Probably not, sir,” I politely smiled, “but the cafe is filled with adults, so I can just wait in there for a little longer.”
“Aw, come on, girly.” The man grabbed my shoulder.
“Sua?” Seonwoo’s voice broke through her bad memories, and she snapped her attention to his hand on her shoulder, and up to his concerned eyes, “We’re just worried for ya.”
“No, I’m fine.” Sua responded, with a smile.
“I’ve got a car.” Haejun suggested.
“I’m good. I left my car at Mira’s Place.” She gestured in the direction her and Seonwoo had come from.
“I didn’t see a car over there,” Seonwoo mumbled, “Sua what’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”
“I really don’t get you.” Seonwoo folded his arms, as he blocked her path, “First you're crying and having a hard time, and then you tell me nothing is wrong? It doesn’t make any sense! Are you okay? Or not? Is there someone after you? Did you run away? Are you homeless? Did a giant fire breathing dragon burn down your house?”
“Don’t be an idiot.” Haejun mumbled, but Seonwoo ignored him.
“You can’t be crying, and asking about being loved, and then tell me everything is fine, Sua! You aren’t fine, are you? Did Haejun scare ya?”
“Hey!” Haejun countered, but was ignored again.
“Kira’s not that scary,” Seonwoo continued, “I’m sorry if you were scared by our talk about her, she’s actually a human, I promise-”
“Seonwoo.” Sua placed her hands over his mouth, “that’s not it. I’m fine. There’s nothing wrong. So just be like all the other guys, and get the point already.”
“What point?” Seonwoo retorted, pulling her hands off his face, “All I get is that you're hurting, and you won’t let people help you when they want to help!”
“They don’t want to help me, Seonwoo! Don’t you get that already! I’m worthless, a worthless nobody, who can’t even get her father to love her! What’s the point, Seonwoo?! I asked if I could be loved, and I can’t! I know that! I’m not a naive little child, like you! Okay? Just listen when people want to be left alone! I DON’T NEED YOUR HELP!” Sua screamed.
