Ch. 6
Outward view;
It had been a week since everyone demonstrated their combat skills and abilities, which meant it was time to prepare and come up with plans on how they would go on missions and conduct research/investigations. Amarion gathered everyone again to discuss what will be happening in the weeks to come.
The meeting
Amarion had brought everyone including Adrian into a private room he built by altering the house. Amarion stated that for missions, everyone will be split up mostly into groups of 2 and that there may be times where there calls for 3 or more depending on the mission. Now these missions or what they should be called, expeditions will be in areas that aren't just in this city we will have to go out of town. Which brings up Adrian. Adrian with his powers given by amarion can go out of town and gather information for everyone. He won't be the only one every now and then. Everybody will too. Collin asked “ how will he get out of town?" Will also asked “ yeah what are his powers in the first place?" amarion responded;
“I gave him 3 powers as a whole. They aren't crazy powerful but are useful for shit like transportation, spying, and offense. Photokinesis. He can bend light off of himself to turn invisible, which is what you all saw a week ago when I was giving them to him. Teleportation. He can teleport anywhere as long as he can visualize it which will take some time for him to master. Luckily enough we have that. Shift. He can phase through objects, which will come in handy for his job, but it'll take a while to master.”
“Now let's talk about what missions will look like.” amarion said with a smile.
“Who here has seen Supernatural, the CW tv show? No one? Alr. In the show when it came to investigating the paranatural the main characters had to pretend to be the FBI to conduct investigations without question. We’ll be doing something similar, with my power Manifestation, I can create fake credentials and I.D.’s. whatever we need to keep up a cover.” Keyshawn after hearing that asked
“How would we not get caught though wouldn't they need to check us?” Amarion answers his question eagerly,"yes and no. You see that's what Jaiden is for. He’ll be on those missions for those exact situations to “persuade” the people into not raising any concerns.” Keyshawn with an understanding look on his face replied with “ah i get it now.”
Amarion continued to explain. “ Missions that do not require a federal hand but need persuading will be having me on those missions. For example missions such as going into a church or infiltrating a building. Now I've been doing my own studying on mythology and each pantheon. I believe the first pantheons we should look into is Norse. I say norse because we already have our first mission and it is norse related.”
Will: A mission already? Goddam!!
Amarion: I know, I know, it's not gonna be anytime soon but it needs to be looked into sooner or later.
Collin: I'm surprised it's not Christianity or Catholicism.
Amarion: I can’t interact with that pantheon…
Collin: How come?
Amarion: sigh~ this is another thing that needs to be shared. Everyone breathe in and out.
Kamya: Wait, why?
Amarion: just do it.
Everyone breathes in and out. Amarion snapped his fingers, then a clicking sound echoed, everyone was transported into a white area. Amarion stood still in front of everyone but there was someone next to him. He was standing right next to Amarion, he was just...there..smiling at everyone. He opened his mouth once and suddenly everyone heard that “cold, wet, and ringing” sound in their ears. Will asked amarion, "who is that person next to you? Where are we?"
Amarion replied;" We are inside of my mind. Do you know why I haven't come back?
This is why. Though I met him later but the actual reason is I couldn't. I grew used to my situation even though ever since I left I was tired of everything. It was all the same, but I got used to it. Every Morning-” Amarion was cut off and Collin heard a ringing in his head. It was so painful, so loud. What is going on? He shouldn't have heard a ringing sound since the guy next amarion wasn't speaking but why? Why? Interesting; this isn't how it should be but it is.
Open*
Collin couldn't hear anything. The voices of everyone faded into the background, he could only see what looked like conversations. Amarion told everyone not to speak or respond to the man next to him. The man who was standing next to amarion walked towards kamya and jaiden, “Wow, interesting. You should've introduced me a long time ago! These two are just like you. I can already tell who they belong to just by the Imprints on their ___. Your lil friend Grant here, already is one huh?” he said.
No one could hear the word he said but amarion was visibly upset. They began to question each other, losing focus on everyone else who was there and what they were supposed to discuss. Collin with an annoyed look and fatigued asked a question even if he could just barely hear; he needed to know.
Collin: What are you and who are you?
???: …. I belong to what you call the Christian or Catholicism patheon. You can call me “Deuce” or “Lucy”.
Collin: …Lucy then.
Lucy smiled and clapped his hands. “Ok, the introductions are now over!! I’m goin to sleep. Don’t tell them my real name or who I am just yet alright. I want it to be a cute little surprise.” He said with the biggest grin on his face. He walked away, with his hands on the back of his head. Amarion turned around really fast and asked “what the hell was this for then?!” Lucy replied, “I just wanted to see that boy, Jaiden and that girl, kamya. Nothing more, nothing less. Also the false time keeper.” Amarion replied with an angry and annoyed response, “ugh… ok we’re finished here.”
Amarion clapped once. Lucy clapped second. Amarion clapped third. Everyone was forced out of the white space and back into the meeting room.
They all felt like they woke up from a dream, tired and disillusioned. It had just occurred to them to ask themselves, is it ok to have someone that is working with the enemy on their team? Especially as their leader. Amarion, dazed, blood running from his nose, he couldn't think. Trying to form a single thought was like pushing two magnets together. Each one of them stared at Amarion with confusion. Some later on thought about it and couldn't think of him being a traitor. Others did but wanted to wait and see if it’ll turn out that way. Focus shifted and everyone's minds were cleared, they shortly realized that Amarion had a damn third eye resting in the middle of his head; his eyes were even the same color as Lucy and his nose was bleeding. The third eye attraction stayed on Kamya and Jaiden. Though amarion was still out of it he spoke but it wasn't his voice. It was Lucy; “you too will soon see what it's like so don't worry too much.” he said as he chuckled. He then looked at Grant and Collin; “you too false ones." he said with a grin upon Amarions face. The eye disappeared and Amarion was in control of himself plus the bleeding stopped. He let out a huge sigh, tilted his head back and just sat in his chair. With a blank look in his eyes he said “Everyone I think that's enough of a meeting for today. Tomorrow I will explain our first mission along with other things such as who'll be going and staying. I'm going to bed; I'm really tired.” . He then got up from his chair and walked out of the room; leaving everyone in the room to talk amongst themselves.
Collins viewpoint:
The room grew louder and louder with conversations amongst ourselves. Kamya and Jaiden discussing why the hell was “Lucy” focused on them and that word. No one could hear that word, they could only guess and use any clue they could gouge out from any sentence that came from his mouth. Keyshawn and will asking grant if he knew what he meant by “already is one.”; grant was reserved with his thoughts. For me I couldn't even talk; my mind was filled with questions fluttering around like moths in my head. I closed my eyes.
I breathed in, inhaling all of my past and looking back. I blew out, exhaling my entire future to look forward to.
I opened my eyes.
I chose to shove those questions to the back of my mind.
Will asked “ who do y'all think Lucy really is?" I stood up and told them."I have an idea but it might seem crazy but I think he’s-”
Outer view point:
“Tsk tsk tsk… I thought I said I wanted it to be a surprise.”
Collin leaned over the table, his hand covering his ear. He heard Lucy's voice in his head.
Time looked as if it had stopped;no one was moving.
“Say another word and you'll surely regret it."
"fuck that. Why are you in my head??!!! ”
“Why do you think Mr. Tyler told you not to respond to me? This is why. Now back to business; keep your thoughts to yourself understood.”
“And why should I listen to you?”
Collins' lungs collapsed; he couldn't breathe anymore.
“How about now?” he said with a joyous tone.
“Cough* pant* pant*...fine.”
Everyone began moving again. Collin questioned if it was all in his head. Collin needed answers; he rushed out of the meeting room to head to Amarions room. Everyone else followed him and asked him what's wrong. He quickly walked all the way to Amarions room. He banged on the door repeatedly. Will and Grant asked why he was banging Amarions door. He replied by saying that there was something important he needed to ask him. They all heard a bunch of noise coming from outside the room as if someone was breaking shit in there. The door was then opened by a tired amarion asking why the hell they were banging on his door. Everyone immediately replied (except Jaiden) “it wasn't us it was that NIGGA.” as they pointed at Collin. “Really…" will then said “what?! It was you." he said pointing his finger in his face. “Pointdexter snitchass- anyways.” Collin said. “WHAT DID U CALL ME." “can y'all please get the fuck from in front of my door with that bullshi…" amarion said. “ damn bitch whats wrong with you!” kamya said." “NIGGA I'M TIRED!! LEAVE.” said amarion. Everyone except Collin leaves; amarion then asks “do you need something?" Collin replied “yes; I have some questions. Can I come in?" “sigh~ fine come in.”
Collins point of view:
I walked into Amarions room. He had a tea maker and desk in his room so he prepared some chairs and tea for us to talk. I sat down and had some tea. It tasted familiar and I quickly realized it was Arizona tea. The drink we used to have when we were younger. “I’m guessing you heard his voice, didn't you?” amarion said as he was blowing on his tea. “Yes I am.” I said. “Can you tell me who he is and how he's connected to you?!” I asked. Amarion sighed as if he was relieved; “ I cannot tell you who he is but I can tell how we are connected but you must not tell anyone; not yet at least.” I agreed." During the beginning of my first year after moving away; I was so tired and bored. Tired of not having somewhere to go, not having a home and being by myself. Tiredness didn't just change me though. Since I didn't have the real life interactions anymore I was tied to my game and comfort of a small room. I grew lazy and complacent. But then I saw everyone living their lives and grew jealous; I started telling myself to wait and I did. Every morning kept coming up the same; it felt like an empty time loop of the same day. No difference, no change, nothing. I started repeating the phrase “Every Morning”- I heard a ringing in my ears but it wasn't as loud. I feel as though it's like a warning sound. I tuned it out and kept listening to his story. -then I later became complacent. Not knowing what to do, holding on to the hope that I'll see my friends again. But in that solitude I quickly realized something. I never got a call. I mean I got calls but it was only one person, you. I called everyone I knew everyday cause I was bored and had no one to talk to but no one really personally called me. So I wanted to test myself, I tried to stop calling anyone or grabbing their attention. It didn't last long; it never did. I started hating myself and everything around me more because I couldn't change the state I’m in. But when I came back to see you and iron in Detroit I was filled with a happiness you couldn't even fathom. You know how it went though. We had but until the end… It wasn't. I left and we both shortly realized we were sick; you got better but I- I did not. I got worse and worse. I couldn't eat, sleep, or walk. I could barely breathe without coughing. I was in hospice.” my eyes widened; I couldn't believe what I had heard, how could I have not known, why didn't he tell me. I saved my questions for the end. “I took it as an excuse to not tell anyone and I made sure no one knew. A while after being in the hospital I began hearing whispers in my ear; thinking I was going crazy, I talked to a therapist. He said that maybe I was creating the voices as a fear response to my impending death. But that's not what it was. Lucy later appeared in front of me as I was almost dying. He asked me if I wanted to live. I said I didn't care about living. He then asked what it is that I want. I told him I wanted my life back. He then said let's make a deal. I asked him what he got out of it. He said a body. I asked if that means I'll be possessed or gone. He said “no you're an apostle, a human counterpart to a Divine being that can handle being inhabited. I would just be lying dormant from within.” I asked if that meant I get powers as a joke. He then replied by saying ‘you get more than that’. I agreed to the deal; I was healed. I thought maybe it was all a dream and I just got better. I could do whatever I wanted. I started having fun again, going out, and feeling confident but I began losing time. People saying I did things I didn't even remember doing. I was losing time and blacking out. I started to think that maybe that dream was real and he spoke to me. He told me who he was and then I found out I was sick because of him. He made me sick to weaken my body making it easier to possess and easier to trick me and I fell for it. I hated myself for being so stupid but then I became content. He taught me a few things, we settled on every now and then joy rides for him, everybody's happy. I didn't contact anyone anymore after I got better because I felt no point. It felt like I didn't need to anymore. Didn't want to anymore. Don't get me wrong, I'm somewhat happy with our situation. I Just---- wouldn't have gone out of my way to do this in the first place..” he said as he tried to look away a single tear shedded from his eye and down to his chin. I could tell by now he was tired and I shouldn't press him anymore. I told him “thanks for sharing and I'm sorry that you had to go through that.” he replied by saying ‘no problem have a nice night Collin.’. I finished my tea and left. My thirst for knowledge was still unquenched but I was also tired so I headed to bed; waiting for the next day to come.
