Wielder Of Fate
Chapter 10: The Dragon
***
Dragons are often dubbed the strongest creatures in existence. To our ancestors they were seen as the epidemy of power, labeled as the angels of death.
So why was one flying directly towards us?

The vibrant pinkish glow of the morning sun peaked over the nearby mountains, illuminating the imposing beast. Its powerful wings compressed as it dived toward its target. Terra looked in surprise at the predator as it swooped just below the overhanging branches before elegantly touching down just meters away from where we stood.
Terra stared wide-eyed at the beast, and so did I. Two large noble golden horns perched on top of its otherwise striking red body. It stared with slit yellow eyes back at the two of us, sizing up its prey. It leaned forward, preparing to pounce. I urged my body to move, to do anything, but to not prevail.
The dragon pushed off from its curved legs, flashing its sharp teeth. It flew directly towards Terra’s unsuspecting body. Just as I thought it had made contact, her figure once again deranged into a short, incredibly plump body, narrowly escaping the attack. The dragon looked surprised at this new development, and this time swung his right-wing towards her, allowing no room for her to modify her body.
She flew across the clearing, smacking down on the beaten floor just inches away from me.
I could taste victory.
She stood upright, occupied by the dragon. I crawled forward, grabbing for my sword. I felt my fingertips wrap around the handle of the sword. I quietly crept behind Terra, sword raised.
Tree roots enveloped the dragon's body, trapping it in place. Terra began to cackle, she thought she had won.
“The fight’s not over yet” I screamed, thrusting my sword into her abdomen. Her laugh turned into a screech as she looked down at the sword sticking through her stomach. She frantically tried to change her figure, but the damage had already been done. I pulled the sword out from her skin.
She lay helplessly on the floor, wildly clutching at the hole in her stomach. She had lost.
I glanced up at the dragon, freed from its bonds. She stared back sentiently, before placing a colorful egg on the forest floor and taking off, back into the sky.
Could that be a dragon egg!?
