She stares at the helpless man yet poker face tells otherwise. A medium-built man walks behind her.
“Good to know you're still in one piece and this man here didn't lay a finger on you. It's been a while since we haven't seen each.”
The nonchalant tone of a man makes her slightly tilt her head. Franzlie waves her hand giving a sign to leave them with the man that has been lying on the ground.
“This man is new to me, I wonder how he pissed you off?”
Malik keeps blabbering beside her, on the other hand Franzlie shrugs her shoulder and walks to the man yanking herself down staring at him.
“Still toying that nuisance man. From the moment we got him he kept screaming like a bitch being screwed by a man.”
Malik grabs the baseball yet Franzlie stops him and the man understands what she means by her actions.
"P-please, sir!!!!" Manager Lee begged, his voice trembling in fear.
"I have a family to feed. I didn't mean to offend you. I don't even know you." Terrified and helpless, he pleaded for his own freedom.
"I didn't know you could speak so eloquently,"
Franzlie spoke in a cold and cruel voice, then waved her hand to untangle the rope that bound the man.
"You're the one behind my abduction? Aren't you satisfied enough that I lost my job? How am I going to raise my family? You're heartless and cruel, despite your elegance and beautiful face!"
Manager Lee half-screamed at her, cursing her.
Without provocation, Franzlie suddenly slapped Manager Lee across the face with such force that it left him bruised and bleeding, with a tooth knocked out. He fell to the floor, spitting blood.
"I'm used to being cursed at, and it doesn't affect me anymore. "You will regret this,"
Franzlie said through clenched teeth. She walked towards him and roughly grabbed his jaw, her eyes filled with rage.
"You should worry about how you're going to settle this dispute between us."
Manager Lee kowtow implored Miss Franzlie to spare his life.
"Please, have mercy on me!" I cried. "I am the only one who can provide for my family. I will do whatever you ask of me, just please spare my life. I swear to my ancestors that I will be a righteous person from this day forward."
He pledged to do anything for her from then on, and to apologize to all the people he had wronged. He would do whatever it took to make things right, and he swore to his family that he would serve her from then on.
Miss Franzlie regarded him for a long moment, then nodded.
"Very well," she said. "You are forgiven. But know this: if you ever cross me again, I will not be so merciful."
Manager Lee kowtow bowed deeply.
"Thank you, Miss Franzlie. I will never forget your kindness."
He rose and turned to leave, but Miss Franzlie stopped him.
"One more thing," she said. "I want you to find out the whereabouts of that deaf girl that works for Drystan. And when you do, bring them to me."
Manager Lee kowtow nodded again.
"I will," he said. "I promise."
And with that, he left the room.
Franzlie watched him leave the room, then folded her arms and turned to her subordinates.
"Do you have anything in mind that you want us to do, Miss Franzlie?"
Her right-hand man, Malik, asked as he walked over and stood beside her.
"Yes," Franzlie said. "I want you to find out everything you can about him."
"Who, him?" Malik asked.
"Yes, him," Franzlie said. "The man who just left. I want to know everything about him, his background, his associates, his enemies, everything."
"I'll get right on it," Malik said.
"Good," Franzlie said. "I want to know everything there is to know about him before I make my next move."
“Let’s see if he’s going to value his pathetic life. Your reports I want it tomorrow afternoon. Just hand it to Macy, she knows what she’s going to do with it.”
Franzlie brushes her hair with her hands and fish-out her cigarette case. She takes a stick and Malik lits the cigar for her.
Malik looked at Franz as she blew smoke into the air.
"Franz, what about the deaf girl you want me to investigate? It seems like you like her. And I know you've been longing for your siblings since they're not here for you and your father."
Franz sighed and blew out a thick cloud of smoke that obscured her face. Her loneliness was evident beneath her angry demeanor, but her eyes spoke volumes.
"I do like her, Malik. But I don't know if she likes to be with me or in my family. And I don't want to get my hopes up just to have them dashed. As for my siblings, I miss them too. But they're grown now, and they have their own lives to live. I just have to accept that."
Malik nodded.
"I understand. But if you really like this girl, you should tell her. You never know, she might feel the same way."
Franz smiled. "Maybe you're right. I'll think about it."
Malik smiled back. "Good. Now, about that investigation..."
“Just get it done. That’s why you are here for that task.”
Franzlie's tone was icy and unyielding..
"Don't drag this conversation about my siblings or you want to go back to where you came from."
She flicked the cigarette butt to the ground and ground it out with her heel. She gazed at him sternly, her eyes narrowed.
"I'm not afraid of you," he said. "You can't threaten me.’’
Franzlie seized him by the collar, her eyes boring into his.
"Oh, I can threaten you," she said. "And I will. If you ever talk about my siblings again, I'll make sure you regret it. Do you understand?"
Malik paled and nodded, sensing that Franzlie was not one to mince words. Franzlie was a woman of few words, but when she spoke, everyone listened. She was known for her directness and her no-nonsense attitude. Malik knew that he had to be careful around Franzlie, or he would quickly find himself in trouble.
"Good," she said. "Let’s call it a day for now, Malik remember your task I want it ASAP."
Malik rolled his eyes at Franzlie's words.
"I will keep that in mind," he said sarcastically.
Franzlie glared at him.
"I am not joking around, Malik. This task is vital. Please take it seriously."
She turned and walked away, leaving Malik standing there.
Malik sighed and followed her. He caught up to her in the parking lot and opened the door for her. However, she stopped him.
"I can open my own door," she said coldly. "I want to be alone on my way home."
Malik nodded and stepped back. He watched as she got into her car and drove away. He knew that she was right about the task being vital, but he couldn't help but feel that she was overreacting. He would have to prove to her that he could handle it.
Malik got into his own car and drove back to the villa. He knew that he had a lot of work to do, but he was determined to succeed. He would not let Franzlie down.
