Until The Desired End

UTDE Chapter 16-Holy Capital

UTDE Chapter 16-Holy Capital

Dec 22, 2023

The hospital visit lasted a few hours and during this time they found nothing wrong with me, and simply confirmed that my Blessed Core had awakened.

My biggest concern was that they would notice my second core but thanks to the help of Zinnias I was able to hid the core from them by manipulating my Edirem levels.

The machine they used to check if a blessed core was active simply measured the Edirem levels in your core and flashed a green light indicating Edirem is present otherwise no light would appear.

So in order to trick the component so that there would be no issued I removed all the Edirem from my pseudo core and moved it to my blessed core so that there wouldn't be two readings.

Luckily this worked and I was able to leave the hospital and return home with the rest of my family.

Currently me and my sister were sitting at the dinning table eating the takeout my parent picked up, while my parent were speaking in their bedroom.

As I was finishing up my food and about to head to my room, my mother stepped out of the room and called me.

"Lue! Come here me and your father want to talk to you."

"Alright."

Once I entered their room I found my father sitting in a sofa chair in the Corner of the room, and my mother sitting at the foot of their bed.

The first to speak in his deep voice was my father.

"Lue at the park today before we left your mother told you that we would have to discuss what comes next right."

I remember her saying that right before we left, it was my assumption she was reaffirming to me having to go to the "course" as Vee put it.

"Well, whenever a child awakens their blessed core, there is an orientation they have to attend called the awakening ceremony that will teach them about how a blessed core works."

"Is it something I have to do, I mean dad don't you have a blessed core can't you just tell me what they told you when you went?"

"To answer your first question yes you have to do it if you want to register your blessed core and be allowed to openly use its ability. Now as for your second question I didn't go to the class since it wasn't a thing when my blessed core activated."

I was surprised to find out that the course wasn't a thing around thirty years ago since father blessed core would have been an artificial awakening, it made me wonder about the real purpose of the course.

"When my blessed core activated I found out my ability by going to a hospital and having simple test run on me, and was told about the possible abilities I have based on the test results and my family history."

So in a few years they developed the process of identifying abilities to the extent were you can be given a definitive answer, but why go to the Holy capital to do that?

I felt that even if I asked the question my parents wouldn't know the answer especially since they didn't have to take my sister to the Holy capital.

In this short conversation, I have further understood just how different this world is from he novel I wrote, since not a single thing my father has been talking about was a plot device I had come up with.

It's during moments like these that my lack of knowledge really highlights the flaw in [The All Knowing Voice] privilege.

"So when I do go to the Holy capital how long will I have to stay there?"

"You won't be going to the Holy capital by yourself, we will go as a family only you will attend the ceremony though and it should be for about half a day."

After giving me time to take in what my father was saying my mother started to speak.

"We plan on going at the end of this week on Friday, and hopefully make it back by Monday."

"This allows us enough time to handle all the important matters and your sister won't have to miss more than a day of school either.

"Okay, is there anything that I need to do or prepare before going."

My mother looked down at the phone in her hand before handing it to me.

"I was messaging Angela for advice on what to do since she had done this for Amy and she helped alleviate my worries, she mentioned that she wanted to talk to you personally, to answer some of your question."

I understand why my mother would want to talk to Angela about the situation from a parent perspective, but if I wanted to get answer as to what to expect wouldn't Amy be a better option.

I decided to hold off on asking my parents question and instead contact the person who is responsible for my concerns.

The phone rang for a while to the point were I though Angela wouldn't pick but on what seemed to be the last ring she answered.

"Hello Angela this is Lue I contacted you because I have a few questions."

"Hello Lue I would be more than happy to help, I'll answer your questions to the best of my knowledge."

Bam

In the middle of our greeting the bedroom door slammed opened and my sister came charging in and crying, with a bright orange stain on the white dress she was wearing.

"Mom,hiccup, dad,hiccup I spilled my drink!"

My mother ran up to her and picked her up to console her while my father spoke to me before heading to the dinning room.

"Lue you can continue your conversation with Angela I'll help your mother clean up just come to the dinning room once you're done."

"Okay."

He walked and closed the door to which I returned my attention to the phone call.

"Sorry, um first I would like....."

"Lue, you have two cores don't you?"

I couldn't even get a sentence out before she dropped one of my many secrets out in the open.

"Did Amy say something to you?"

"No, I asked her about it but she adamantly denied it saying she didn't know anything."

The fact that Amy kept her promise even in front of her mother built my trust for her, but it still begged the question.

"So how did you know?"

"My eyes, due to my blessed core ability [greater perception] I can see things most can't, I also have a few other benefits but that's not important what is important is the fact that my eyes can see your Edirem flow, and it was highly unusual why your Edirem flowed in two different paths."

I knew that her vision couldn't be something as simple as an X-ray since both my pseudo core and blessed core aren't some physical entity and instead more of a metaphysical entity that needs special equipment to pick up, so it begged the question....

"If you had to make a guess how many people could see what you saw?"

She was quiet for a while, but I could tell she was genuinely thinking of an answer due to the slight hum I heard on the other end of the phone.

"If I had to make a guess the [Extreme Perception] blessed core user should be able to see but no one else, since that's the only perception type ability higher than mine."

"Any perception type blessed core ability bellow greater shouldn't be able to see what I see."

"Greater, are blessed core ability split up into ratings?"

"Yes, you will learn more about this at the holy capital but all abilities have a Greater, and lesser variant and there are seven abilities above the system and of the seven six of them are purely passed down through genetics."

"The primordial seven right."

While Vee didn't give me any information on the ranking of blessed core abilities I did get information on the primordial seven, this was the name given to the seven strongest abilities which were initial used by the seven main protagonist in my original novel

Manger of life,Holy saint, Rune-smith, Extreme perception, Godly marksman, Black hole, and Universal Swordsmanship.

"Yes, you're well informed my ability is a derivative of extreme perception of the greater variant."

All the new information was great but I had to get to the heart of my newest concern.

"Why did you reveal that you knew about my dual blessed cores?"

"After you return from the Holy capital you will need the help of someone from my field and I just wanted you to know that you can be open with me since you don't have to hid anything."

"What would I need help with?"

"Just know that I run something called an Alpha tier Association, you'll learn more about what that means at the Holy capital so just hold onto that information."

"Okay, and I trust you won't tell my parents about my dual cores I don't plan on hiding it for long but at least for a little longer I don't want to cause them any worry."

"Don't worry I won't tell anyone, as I mentioned this was just to let you know that you can open up to me in the future."

"Hmm"

I was quite skeptical of her real goal but she did provide me with some information to work withs for now I'll ignore my skepticism.

"Oh and thank you for becoming friends with my daughter, she has always been a shy girl but to think she would so adamantly tell me off it seems it was the right decision to go to the picnic today."

"It's nothing much, she helped me out so it was the least I could do."

"Nonetheless I'm grateful to you, well I should let you get back to your parents I wish you a safe trip to the Holy capital."

"Thank you, and I appreciate the information you gave me I will keep it in mind, bye."

With that the call ended and with it new information was gained but even more question were brought up.

While staring down at the call log I began to look forward to the Holy capital.

January, 1 2021 it was on this day that everything changed, what started off as a normal new years day took a turn for the worse when the mysterious species later named Astrals invaded all of earth and wiped out the vast majority of human life, leaving a small worldwide population of 100,000 to defend for themselves.

In the midst of this due to the love god had for the human race as well as the guilt God felt for allowing their failed creation the Astrals to accomplish this genocide, they bestowed upon the few remaining humans blessed cores.

These blessed cores would give humans a fighting chance against the Astrals and usher the start of the revolution. Among the 100 of thousands blessed cores seven of them stood out they were:

Godly marksmen and extreme perception held by the siblings Ryan and Shanna Locks respectively

Rune-smith held by Lewis Kalter

Black hole held by James Lepsen

Manager of Life held by Tristen lang

Holy Saint held by Miranda Klein

And lastly the main protagonist of the story Arima Higashio user of the Universal swordsmanship blessed core

These seven humans would go through a fulfilling, heart wrenching, emotion packed journey to reclaim earth from the invaders and defeat the Astral monarch....

At least that's how I wrote the story to be yet here I am 200 years after the end of the story trying to figure out how to reach my new desired end.
