Mika met Gen at the bench near student parking where they had sat together that first night of math tutoring. It was strange to think how so much had changed since then…but not everything.
They walked to his truck, hand in hand, not speaking, both of them miserable and anxious about what was coming next. They climbed in and Gen drove slowly, wanting to make this ride last as long as possible. Mika asked how Gen’s last class went and Gen told him it was okay, that the weird guy left Riley alone as planned. Apparently seeing him with Gen made him shut up the entire class. Of course, what Gen didn’t tell Mika was how he had given the guy a look that promised violence if he ever talked to Riley again. Guys like him made Gen’s skin crawl. He had known someone like him when he was a kid; that guy also liked little boys and enjoyed grooming them. Look and act a certain way to kids like Gen who were still trying to make sense of their own sexual identity at that age, and pedophiles can earn their trust enough to defile them at their leisure.
As he drove, Gen could see Mika sink into himself, becoming smaller in his oversized hoodie, his hair hiding his face, his lip being chewed. Gen took his hand and squeezed it.
“I hate this,” he whispered. He pulled into the convenience store parking lot, away from the building where there wouldn’t be any prying eyes. He shut off the engine, unbuckled his seatbelt, pushed his seat back, and pulled Mika across the console to his lap. Mika wrapped his arms around him, burying his face in Gen’s neck.
“Please don’t make me go,” he begged. “Take me away from here, anywhere. Kidnap me, I don’t care, just don’t make me go back there.”
“I want to, baby, I do…but I can’t…this kills me…” he held Mika tightly. “How am I supposed to protect you like this? What am I supposed to do?”
He put his hands on Mika’s face, making him look at him, seeing the fear and despair in his eyes. He felt so powerless as Mika began to cry. All day he had been the strong one lifting Gen up, supporting him as he reached out to people for the first time in years. And now Gen had to be strong…he had to be the one to support Mika, to be that warrior Kana had promised him Gen was.
Gen kissed him, their lips moving slowly, tenderly at first. Gen’s hands went into Mika’s hair, gripping it in his fingers as Mika’s hands traveled up his neck and into his thick mohawk. He let out a soft moan as Mika pulled on his hair, breaking the kiss but keeping his face close to Gen’s, his blue eyes heavy-lidded with desire.
He kissed him with his eyes open, staring into Gen’s, holding his gaze as their kiss deepened. He reached down between the seat and door and found the handle that reclined the seat back, making it fall as far back as he could. His mouth still on Gen’s he readjusted so he was straddling him, his hips pressed hard against Gen’s.
Gen put his hands on Mika’s hips and pushed him down hard against him, as Mika slowly began rocking back and forth. Gen moved his hips as well to match the rhythm he was creating. Mika moaned loudly, biting Gen’s lip. Gen grabbed Mika’s tongue with his own and began sucking on it, grazing it with his teeth and pulling hard as Mika’s hands went into his shirt, his fingers finding Gen’s nipples. Gen’s head snapped back as Mika lifted his shirt and replaced his fingers with his teeth and tongue.
Gen put his own finger between his teeth, trying to prevent a scream from escaping as Mika tortured him with his hips and mouth, gyrating in small circles, as the heat between them grew to a fever pitch. It was taking every ounce of what little self-control Gen had left not to pull Mika to the backseat and strip him down, crossing that line they had set for themselves. Just dancing on it as they were now was making his head spin.
He felt the tightness in his loins as the pressure began to build to the breaking point. The look on Mika’s face told him he was there, as well. He fumbled with the center console, slamming it open. He sat up, Mika’s ass still grinding relentlessly into him, and pulled out his napkin stash.
The moment it happened, they held on tight, their mouths finding each other, their moans filling their throats and lungs. Gen felt like his heart was going to explode as each quake rocked through his body. He felt Mika shudder, his thighs squeezing tightly around him, his whole body shaking in Gen’s arms.
It took a few moments before Gen had enough air to speak again. “Are you okay?” he breathed.
Mika nodded into his neck. “Are you?”
Gen nodded. “I think so.”
They both sat there, clinging to each other, trying to catch their breath, the napkins clutched tightly in Gen’s hand. Mika’s body finally relaxed and he sat up slowly, his hair curtaining both their faces, his hand on Gen’s face, his thumb on his lower lip.
“I didn’t mean to do that,” he said quietly.
Gen shook his head. “It’s not like I stopped you.”
Mika kissed him again then put his head on Gen’s chest. “I don’t want to go,” he said sadly.
“I don’t want you to, either,” Gen said, sitting up, Mika sitting back as he did so. “But we don’t have a choice. We’re both caught in this trap and right now, neither of us can find the way out.” He put his fingers under Mika’s chin, his thumb resting just under his lower lip. “But we will. Somehow, we’ll find a way to get you out of there for good.”
Mika gave a sad grin. “‘O time, thou must untangle this, not I.’”
Gen gave the same grin. “Exactly.”
Slowly, Mika disentangled himself from around Gen, taking the napkin he was offered. They cleaned up and tossed the napkins into the trash bag in the back. Mika readjusted his clothes, glad his oversized hoodie was long enough to pull over himself if he needed to, and ran his fingers through his hair. When he felt he was presentable enough to not be questioned, he leaned over and gave Gen one more slow, tender kiss.
“Text me when you get home?”
“Of course.”
Mika grabbed his bags, opened the door and jumped out into the evening air. He looked back once, his face full of sadness, then he closed the door, and walked off. Gen waited until he could no longer see Mika before he turned the engine over, and slowly drove home, tears filling his eyes.
