Anna

Today is such a great day. I got hamburgers for breakfast, dad gave me some extra pocket money when he dropped me off at my school, got to pick a bone with my brother, got to say ‘hi’ to brother Stephen and even the supposed test on the third period got canceled. I was with my bestie Bela in the hallways. I really don’t want my next class, thinking about it exhausts my soul. I was down the hallway now to my next class with my friend.

“Anna? Do you hear me?”

*sigh*“Yes, Yes!! You were saying how you were irritated when that teacher picked on you early.”

“That right! How could she pick on one of her students like that? I’m sure of my feelings now, she was my mortal enemy, throughtout my past lives.”

[ummm……. that's all on you, you know……… should I just come straight with it!]

“Ohhh come on! She just picked on you cause ummm……. Bela, you were late on submitting her assignment.”

“Ohhh so now you're on her side huh! I’m.. I’m……….. I’m not gonna talk to you.”

[Aghhhh!! I shouldn't have said that.]

“Sorry Sorry!! But I wasn't taking her side.”

“Like I will believe you now.”

[Should I…… bribe her?]

“I really am….. I will buy you lunch okay………. ummmm…….. anything within my budget.”

“If you are going that far than………….. I will generous this one time, and ……forgive you but you will hav-”

*boom* *thaad*

“AAAAAGGAGHHHHAAHHHHHA”

“GHYAAAAA”

“ANNA, DID YOU HEARD THAT?”

“……”

“ANNA?”!

[what?........ What was that? earthquake? no something else maybe………. I don’t know. ]

Loud screams of people and sound of walls samshed could be heard from everside. Me and Bela were confused but we were like everyone else looking around freezed, trying to figure out the situation. After what was some sound we saw a bunch of students running outside the school like their life was on the line. I was still confused and I fell on the floor after getting pushed by the crowd trying to run away. When I saw the thing I mostly could only watch on movies and shows, ‘Humans getting eaten, tearing them apart by some horrible looking things we could only call it monsters’.

“ANNA!!! Get up girl, WE GOT TO GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE.”

“.... my….. my legs…….. I….. I can’t….. move”

“NOW, YOU ARE DIGGING MY GRAVE TO!!! GET UP!!!”

[Blood……. monster………. i can't move……. am I, am I……….. I’ll die……. no…… I don't wanna……. this is a dream. Right? YES! This is a dream…… I…… I will…. wake up if…. I will just….. I don’t want to die just yet…… I have to wak-]

*slap*

“ANNA! YOU BACK! NOW, GET UP GIRL!!!"

People were dying around us. I even lost my cool, but the slap my friend delivered to my face woke me up, and with her pulling me or ‘dragging me’, I was up on my legs now. But those monsters were getting really closer to us than before. 

“ANNA, COME HERE! GET INSIDE.”

[......where?...... we are going to die….. anyway.]

I lost my will but my friend still had it in herself, she pulled me closer to the sides of the hallways. There was a locker kept with cleaning tools. Bela throwed me inside the locker then shut it's door. I was horrified, trembling all over my body. The scene where students got ripped apart was still fresh in my memory, after a few seconds I heard a familiar scream. It was Bela’s, she was screaming her heart out, I couldn’t save her. I tried my best not to make a sound and all the screams I was hearing till now were now slowly dying out. Fear of getting found out was on my head, I crouched down in the locker. Those monsters were roaring now, running through the wall and searching for more humans. I had no courage to get out of this locker, I was praying silently in my slow voice for someone to come and save me, I stayed there for an hour now. Even after the sounds stopped I still couldn’t get out of the locker. I felt safe and secure inside the locker now.

“Anna! It’s me… Stephen. Can you open the locker’s door?”

“WAIT!!!”

[Is he really…. here?]

“Are you really….. Brother Stephen?”

“I am. I came to take you back to your brother.”

I opened the locker and as I peeked out of it, my hands trembling, after crying for hours silently. I was feeling nausea. When I looked out of the locker, it really was brother stephen. I reached out to him, I wrapped his collar with both my arms, he gently lifted me and took me out of the locker. Maybe feeling a little relieved or safe now that he was here, unknowingly, my tears started to flow out again. I cried, complained and told him how my friend Bela died protecting me. I was the reason she died. I cried more and more. and then I fainted.

[Ughh…. where am I?]

I woke up in an unfamiliar car, with a sharp pain in my head like it wanted to explode. My heart has been feeling that it has sunk in some deep sea of sadness. There were some laughter I could hear coming from out of the car and a strange girl was lying beside me in my backseat. She looked like she had finally got peace and was resting now, forgetting all the struggle she had before this worryness sleep. I quickly scanned her and found that she was alright and there was a little girl lying in the front seat with badges. Her state was horrible, I couldn’t help but there were tears in my eyes after looking at the poor child. Just when I was reaching out to pat that child.

“Ann, are you okay, do you water?”

[Jennie… why does it…. you feel like you have grown up now… what is this pain … I can’t remember anything]

“Jennie… where… what am I doing here”

“It’s nothing, everything……. Everything's alright now. I am here for you”

Jennifer gave me a water bottle, I declined the bottle and was getting out of the car, Jennie helped me. I didn’t know why but I was feeling weak, I could barely keep myself on my toes. After getting out of the car, I looked around and my mind recollected the thought, the scenery of the dull, horrible creature breaking into my class, killing and eating my student. The flashes of the scene are full of scream and horror and even blood spilling. I held my head in my palm and it’s in a lot of pain. My body is trembling, my views are getting blurred, as well as I unconsciously started to scratch my face with my nail, digging and boring into my skin.

[NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!!!!!!! What are these….. No, these… are ….I … am …I..”

“ANN!! Calm down! Listen to me everything’s okay…. I am here, your Jennie, please listen to me, Ann!! Calm down...... breath, Ann please list-”

“Jennie!! Are you okay? those… monster…. they didn’t hurt you right? let me look at you?”

I hurriedly checked her, their no sign of her being in harm. I was revived and I thanked the gods. But deep in me I knew, I am forgetting something I should never. Pushing all these aside I embarrassed Jennifer. I was relieved that she was okay. I was feeling calm and in peace as I was embracing My ]]my niece. As i become as to who she was talking moments before with such joy, when I looked at the people here were, it was Noah and Stephen. As I remembered Noah being one of the students in my classes, the memories suffered as how monsters invaded my class. How they killed and ate my students and how a brave boy, Prince tried to protect me, but ended up getting half-eaten by those monsters. And how a boy the same age as him appeared and effortlessly or brutally killed the same monster with just an emergency tool. And how he mercilessly killed Prince.

[Thank god!!!Jennie is safe….. I’m so happy, thank you god for protectinging my child. Who was she talking to before? Oh!!! It’s Noah from my class and with him is Stephen. Stephen?.........STEPHEN!!!!!!]

“STEPHEN!!! YOU…..DEVIL, I’M GOING TO KILL YOU!!”

“Ann!! Calm Down!!! What’s wrong”

“Miss Emma, Whatever Stephen did I will say sorry in his place.”

[...Sorry….. Is he sorry for what he did? why?....... Why did this Monster?]

“You guys should leave…….. this demon….. he…. he…. he killed Prince in front of me. This… jerk will harm you two as well….. and i will kill him….. I don’t care what happens to me.”

[.... how could he…… he killed him….. how]

“Miss Emma! He did, WHAT?”

As surprised as Jennifer was to my words, Noah had a whole different reaction, like his world had collapsed. I had slapped Stephen and held him in collar, his best friend looking at him with a horrorful eye’s, He did the most unexpected to all of us. 

[...smirk? Did he jus ….t .. smirk? Does he not….. feel….. know how bad…… it was…. what he did?]

“Take care of noe….. Noah and his sister….. I will be around!”

“what yo-...... huh?.............. where ……. where is he?”

As he gently loosened my grip on his collar and said this to Jennifer, he disappeared in front of me, like vanishing into thin air, and it seemed like he actually did vanish into thin air. This reminds me of how he appeared in the classroom before, just like this. Without any warning or sign she shows up and disappears, he also effortlessly kills the monster. And as young he could have been how was it that his hand never trembled as he killed Prince.Jennifer Helped me back in the car, handed me some energy bar as well. Noah sat beside the girl in the backseat as he also ate his energy bar. Jennifer started to drive the drive, eating her own energy bar as well. She had a bag which had a little but enough food for all of us to have a one time meal. No one said anything for some time, that’s when the girl sitting me woke up, it seemed she was Noah's sister. After some little exchange we all had about what they were doing in the car or introducing each other. Jennifer said something really unlawful.

“Guys, Let’s rob some supermarkets!!!”
