That's how I ended up in an alley of a pretty expensive looking restaurant. Barefoot
I decided to settle here for the meantime cause I really don't want to wander around in the middle of the night. For now, the place is lit from streetlights and cars and there are lots of noises from people
But in a few hours it's going to be a lot darker and so quiet you would be able to hear the crickets. I'm definitely despising that moment
I settled on a few rugs and blankets and put some on top of me so I would be less visible. To my right, infront of me, there was some kind of cabinet that would definitely help in keeping me hidden
Just as I finally settled down, someone came out of the door a little farther away from the one closest to me. Carrying four full bags with, I have no idea what, and when he reaches the big trash can, he swings the bags inside
One of them tears apart and an apple falls down on the ground, rolling around before stopping. The man doesn't seem to notice cause he has already turned away, disappearing beyond the door
I waited for a few minutes to see if nobody comes out again or nobody passes near the opening of the alley. When I'm sure it's okay and I wouldn't be spotted, I got up from underneath the warmth and took the few small steps towards the only thing I'll probably eat today
I scooped it into my palm and quickly returned to the bundle of warmness. I checked the apple to see it had a small bite on it. Not bad. Not bad at all. I'll eat just about anything right now
I started munching on the apple, it was good, really, really good. Made me think how someone could throw something like that away
But that what happens when you don't have to worry cause you have enough money which means you have enough food. Lucky people. I wonder if I'll ever be that lucky
I found myself drifting off to sleep and spat the piece of apple I had in my mouth. I didn't want to choke or anything like that. I ate barely half of the apple so at least my stomach has settled down
I held the apple tightly in my hands so it won't fall, thinking about what will happen in the morning before I fell into a much needed sleep
Parker is a boy. Just a teenage boy. But despite being 'just a teenage boy', he experienced some things in life that most teenage boys don't.
After being kind of kicked out of his house, he stumbled upon a restaurant. Staying in the dark alley through the night might've been scary, but it was the best decision of his life that lead him to people who made him feel belong.
