[Elash's Account]That cold night, spent surrounded by an all-encompassing darkness with the occasional howl, went terribly...
I relished those few moments of happiness spent around the fire. Serelay was surprisingly dignified in our conversation with Asher. We removed his helmet since the cold was punishment enough. He spoke of a strange type of love. One for all, despite any trespasses or charges. Unconditional. It sounded nice but life never has never been kind enough to let one do the right thing, or at least king Antrell. Each statement was challenging and had my full attention but as a trained soldier I had to notice the feint steps from the darkness. "I am very sorry, sir. Please may you stop speaking, a creature lurks." My words were dismissive but there were graver things at hand. What sort of beast could prowl in pure darkness? The kind I was supposed to protect the man from. I was trained to. It was getting closer and closer.
Out of the black veil, a woman appeared. Her arms were up in surrender and she asked for help, her face was hidden. Much like most of her body, covered by a large blue coat . There was no way she could have been a threat. Sitting on a box of supplies, she introduced herself.
" 'Ello, the name's Jolly." She said. Rummaging through her many pockets, she took a shiny medal out. "This 'ere's my badge of honour. Yer see, I am one of the strongest soldiers of the House of Antrell." She declared, awaiting a grand reaction but that was not my first time seeing that. In fact, Serelay and I have both received those marks. With time, it's become a source of shame. Focus. This could spell trouble for us. "As expected of such veterans, obviously I know you too ,but I don't know this beaten and broken old man. You wouldn't treat an enemy with such hospitality, right?" She definitely would make problems, I tried my hardest to shoot down her suspicion but failed. Regardless, she stopped with her prying and admired the sky.
Her presence was unsettling enough so I went to patrol around the camp. Watching everything closely was easier when I was around the fire but I was slowly drowning in darkness. Feeling every tree was my of seeing until I felt a weird mark on a tree. Tracing the strokes and their deepness, I recognised the sigil. 'Twas the sigil of the House of Antrell. How stra-
In the kingdom of Trellia, many enjoy chasing luxuries and lavish goods. Few have to fight for the kingdom and its psychotic king Antrell, even though they are helped by magical abilities he gives it wears away at one's soul. Elash and Serelay have a big job that'll take all they have but it might be easier than following Antrell's leadership.
