By instinct when she slammed on the brakes I looked ahead of us on the road as I braced myself against the dash. As if the car’s sudden stop wasn’t jarring enough, four massive wolves stood in the road in front of us, “What the hell are they doing?” Abby rolled her window down but before she could say anything to the wolves a knock on my window made us both jump. We turned and looked at my window to Alpha King Tobias leaning forward so his face was by the window, “The Alpha King?” Abby looked at me, “Did we forget something?” I shook my head, “Lily.” I flinched at his muffled voice through the window. His tone was firm and had an edge to it. My gut felt hollow and my lungs felt like they wouldn’t let me take in air, “Lily…where do you think you’re going?” 

Abby gasped, “Lily? What did you do?” I shook my head as I looked at her, “I didn’t do anything. I-” Cain leaned in Abby’s open window, “Lily, you need to come back to the villa.” Startled by him Abby shrieked and swung at him out of reflex before she gasped, “Sorry Beta Cain!” I set my jaw, shook my head as I crossed my arms and settled myself into my seat, “No.” Tobias knocked on my window again, “Lily, open the door.” I shook my head again, “No! I don’t want to go back.” Abby looked at me in confusion and disbelief, “Lily? What is going on here?” When I didn’t answer her right away Cain spoke up, “Lily is my mate.” Abby looked at him in utter shock, “What?” Then as if a light clicked on for her, “Wait..but how? You already-” Tobias’ voice came through the window again, “Don’t forget she’s my mate too Cain.” Abby turned her head so fast it was a wonder she didn’t snap her neck, “WHAT!?! No! That can’t be right.” She looked back at Cain, “How certain is the whole mate bond thing. There must be some mistake right? How could she be yours when you already had found your mate AND ALSO be the Alpha’s mate.” Cain just shook his head at her. It was the one question the three of us really had for the council and it was not answered. It did put me at ease a little that she essentially had the same reaction and thoughts I did on this.

The worst part about all of this was, there was one other thing I didn’t like about this. Humans call their significant other boyfriend and girlfriend or husband and wife. Everyone knows what couples do, that they are or will be intimate but it's not directly addressed or acknowledged. Werewolves and Lycans call their significant other ‘Mate’...essentially ‘This is the person I have sex with and is mine’ or in my case a declaration ‘this is the person I will have sex with and is mine.’ And everytime they called me their mate, especially since it wasn’t just one of them but both of them it was embarrassing to me and made me uncomfortable. Don’t get me wrong, they are both incredibly hot, good looking men but still.

“Abby, will you unlock the door?” I looked at Tobias. Did he really just ask her to do that? Then the lock on my door popped open, “ABBY!” I tried to smash the lock back down but Tobias already had the door open. He leaned into the car and reached for my seat belt. I tried to block him and succeeded once but he pushed past my defenses and unbuckled my seatbelt, “I’m not even going to bother asking but I think I can guess the answer.” His arm hooked across my waist and he swept me out of the car, “Hey!” I gasped as the tingling sensation of his touch vibrated through me followed by a soft moan that I clasped my hand over my mouth to stifle. He then heaved me over his shoulder and I got one last look at Abby who was smiling, “Traitor!” She laughed, “I’ll see you back at the villa!” I didn’t even fight against Tobias. What was the point? He was three to five times stronger than a human man. There was no point of my weak ass trying to fight against him or Cain. My best bet was a head start and distance and thanks to Abby I was ass out on that advantage.

I let out a frustrated sigh as Cain left the side of Abby’s car and followed after us. This was the second time in three hours that I had been carried like this, “This seems redundant Alpha.” I felt his head move against my waist, “What do you mean?” I rolled my eyes, “Wouldn’t it have been more effective for you and Beta Cain to have just gotten into Abby’s car?” He chuckled and Cain smiled, “And miss an opportunity to show our lycans off to our mate? Not a chance.” Tobias patted me with the hand that was holding me over his shoulder, “Plus I get to carry you home this way.” I pouted, I couldn’t deny that the sensation of his touch was nice. 

“Oh my god!” I covered my face when Cain started to strip. Tobias turned to look at Cain and he laughed, “Oh sweet Lily…this will be fun.” I heard a bunch of sickening snapping and then a massive tongue licked my arm. I screamed and flailed about in Tobias’ grasp, falling from his shoulder but he quickly shifted me to be cradled in his arms. My eyes glued on the massive black wolf with beautiful ice blue eyes. Tobias chuckled, “Cain startled you? But he’s such a handsome wolf.” I nodded without taking my eyes off of Cain, “He’s beautiful.” Tobias looked down at me in his arms, “Well now you’re making me jealous.” He went over to Cain’s side and started to lift me up onto his back, “Wait! What are you doing!?!” He stopped, “Did you think we were going to walk back to the villa on two legs?” I looked up at him, “Well..yeah?” He chuckled and then heaved me up onto Cain’s back.

I was stiff at first. I was nervous and scared to make Cain uncomfortable with me on his back. But his fur was soft and it made me want to bury my face in it. Especially with that warm electrified buzz that vibrated through every part of me that touched him. I resisted the urge until Tobias too started stripping. Then I gave in and buried my face in Cain’s fur, “Oh my god! You guys need to warn people before you do that!” I heard him laugh before I heard that awful snapping again. After it stopped I lifted my head to find a white wolf with bright green eyes standing where I had last seen Tobias. He was a bit bigger than Cain but like Cain his wolf was incredible. He was beautiful. I wanted to touch him and before I realized it my hand was reaching out to him. 

He moved closer and nudged my hand with his muzzle. I slid my hand back to his cheek, letting my fingers tangle into his soft thick ivory fur. I had seen Lynelle’s wolf once or twice but this was completely different. Yes, he was the Alpha and not just any Alpha but the Alpha King, but it was something else. Could it really be this sensation I feel everytime they touch me? He leaned into my hand before he chuffed and pulled back. He turned his massive head back towards the villa and all the other wolves who’d been blocking the road earlier took off back towards the villa. Cain shifted under me before he started moving, gradually picking up pace. It didn’t take long for me to lay back against him, cuddled into his ebony fur. I felt bad but I did have two handfuls of his fur to help keep myself secured on his back. The wind whipped around us as he galloped up into a full sprint, Tobias running beside us as they cut through the forest back to the villa.

Upon returning to the villa I saw Abby was only just pulling back into the car park. I also saw Uncle Anthony and Aunt Lynelle waiting. My uncle did not look happy. That horrible snapping sound drew my attention, out of reflex, to Tobias as he shifted back. He was naked. I quickly looked away, my cheeks burning. I kept my eyes on Cain’s beautiful fur, “As much as I’m sure Cain is enjoying it, he can’t shift back with you on his back.” I hesitantly turned to look at Tobias, he was somehow wearing pants now, someone must have brought some out to him? “I mean, he could…it just might end up a bit awkward for you Lily.” He offered me his hands. I released my grip on Cain’s fur and brought my leg over so I could slide down his side into Tobias’ waiting arms. 

He was shirtless so the sensation of us touching was so intense that I sucked in a breath before I pushed him away. The feeling was nice and I honestly wanted more but it also scared me and startled me every time we touched. He seemed to understand that and said nothing about me pulling away from him. That snapping sound happened behind me and I winced at the sound and looked up at Tobias, “That sounds so painful.” My brows knit together as I said it. He opened his mouth to speak but a riot of pleasing tingles danced across my shoulder and I jumped and turned to find Cain with his hand held out towards me. He had obviously been touching me. He seemed a little more bothered by my retreat from his touch but didn’t say anything.
