The next morning Ophelia sat down at the desk in her room, pulling out a paper and a pen to jot down whatever she remembers and decide a plan so she doesn’t die. She remembers the empire’s history,it’s large duchies who are so powerful that they are almost on par with the imperial power. ‘Ethel’, the northern duchy that is famous for it’s blood curdling dark power, ‘Fyr’, the western duchy who is powerful for it’s hereditary fire power,’Lyn’,the eastern duchy who is powerful for it’s water power and finally, ‘Agnes’ the duchy in the capital or rather the central duchy famous for it’s hereditary power of light. The light which gives hope to the kingdom’s people and it’s temple.
The royalty had the ‘god’s gift’, the ability to see through all lies.
Ophelia thought as she wrote down the characters she remembered, her sister, Aurelia Agnes, the female lead and the crown prince was the male lead. She twitched her eye as she couldn’t remember any of the male characters’ faces. She does remember that one of the second male leads is a Lyn. But about the villain who will cause all kinds of mess and will ultimately lead to Ophelia’s death? Nothing. She only remembers that the villain had black hair and was cold, stoic, and aggressive;killing anyone who dared to stand as an obstacle in his path, even his royal highness, the emperor.
Ophelia clicked her tongue as she couldn’t remember if the villain was from the western or the northern duchy. The power that the northern duchy possessed was suspicious, but it was the most peaceful dukedom out of the four. On the other hand, the western duchy ‘Fyr’ was known for its frequent clashes with the royalty.
Ophelia sighed as she picked up the paper and threw it in the fireplace, deciding to avoid the Fyr and the Ethel family members all together.
“It’s time for your lesson, young lady” A maid said as she bowed. Ophelia nodded at the maid and replied, “Escort me there, please”.
The maid nodded as she obliged with Ophelia’s command.

Ophelia sat there in the lesson,a question paper in front of her. The questions were about the history of the empire and, being a diehard fan of the web novels, she knew everything about the kingdom’s history. She stared at the paper as she wondered, were she to answer all the questions correctly, will it change her story’s path? Will she not be sent to study in another land if she proves her capability of being able to manage the family business even if she didn’t have any powers?
“Are you done with your test, young lady?” The teacher asked as he stood in front of Ophelia’s desk.
“No, but I’ll be done soon” Ophelia replied, picking up a pen and deciding to answer all the questions correctly. The teacher nodded as he went to the desk a bit away from her where her sister Aurelia was sitting, clearing her doubts about her material.
It was quite strange to Ophelia(raina) that she was treated with the same love and affection that Aurelia got. ‘Wasn’t Ophelia supposed to be the family’s ‘ugly duckling’?’ Ophelia thought as she wrote the answers. Maybe the answer lies in the fact that Aurelia hasn’t activated her power yet
Ophelia remembers it clearly, Aurelia got her power when she was 10. She doesn’t remember how but she does know that after Aurelia gets the family power of light, she’ll be outcasted by everyone.
“Teacher I’m done” Ophelia says as she puts her pen down and the teacher comes and picks up her answer sheet reading it. The teacher was surprised.
“Everything is correct, Good work, young lady” He smiled as he looked at Ophelia.

The Agnes duchess, upon hearing one of her daughters excel in every education lesson was elated. She rewarded Ophelia by buying her lavish clothes and accessories.
Ophelia wasn’t dumb, she knew that Aurelia was slightly sad because their mother was giving almost all her attention to Ophelia. Not wanting to get on the female lead's bad side early on in the story, Ophelia shared some of her gifts with her older sister. Both of them, playing together happily and growing closer as time went by.
