"W-what?! Hayato texted me back?!" I thought to myself.
He texted me again. It said:
"Look, I think you might be avoiding me. I am sorry that I was mean to you."
"No," I texted back. "I didn't mean to avoid you at all. Thank you for apologizing. :) by the way, It's Valentine's Day tomorrow. What are you doing?"
"I don't know. What are you going to do? Did you plan anything special for you and Ichika?" He replied.
"I didn't think about that. Thanks for reminding me! Honestly, I don't know if Ichika even likes me though."
A tear ran down my cheek.
"I think she does, Atsuko. I can tell."
I didn't respond after that. I had no idea what to say. Then, miraculously, I fell asleep.
I woke up in the morning; my alarm went off. It was a Saturday.
I put on a pink shirt, orange skirt and brushed my teeth.
I sat down at my desk. I Thought of writing a valentines letter to Ichika.
My mom opened the door and asked me, "Atsuko, what are you doing?"
"I'm... writing a valentines letter to Ichika."
My mom smiled and said, "That's so sweet. I'll have to make some of our valentines chocolates for her too, make sure to include those!"
"Ok mom!" I said, and then she closed the door
One hour later, Ichika knocked on the door. I answered. She said, "Happy Valentine's Day! Can we go for a walk?"
"Happy Valentine's Day! And sure, let's go." As soon as I took one step out the door, Nina ran outside the door.
"Do you mind if we hold hands, Atsuko?"
I blushed. "Not at all."
I was a little embarrassed to give Ichika the letter, but I stopped and said, "I-I have something for you, Ichika."
Ichika turned around and looked at me. "What is it?"
"It's a letter.... and some treats. I..hope you like it Ichika."
She took it and read it.
"I love this, Atsuko. Thank you so much for the chocolate. I actually made you something too."
My heart thumped.
She handed me a bracelet with lots of hearts on it. I noticed she had one on her wrist too.
I smiled. "Thank you, Ichika."
