The sound of birds chirping could be heard from above as Yoshiro came to. He struggled to open his eyes due to a bright beam of light that shone down onto his face. He raised his hand into the sky to block out the sun. In that moment he realized the hand he was now staring at was not one he recognized. Yoshiro's hands were slender like the ones he was now staring at, but these hands seemed to be more muscular, as if they had seen a lot of hard physical labor unlike his own.
Yoshiro shot up in a panic and looked around. Tall, vibrant green trees enveloped the area outside of a small clearing where Yoshiro now sat. He glanced down at his clothes, immediately recognizing them as clothes he'd often see players donning within his favorite MMORPG, "Legend Online”. The outfit of a new player. Where the hell am I?
Before he could move or do anything A hard object came crashing down on his head from the sky above. He winced as it struck and instinctively rubbed the sore spot on his head. He could feel spiky hair brush beneath his hand, A style he had never prescribed in his entire life. Not that he didn't want to, his hair just never looked good that way.
His eyes fixed on the hard object that lay in the grass next to his legs. It appeared to be a dark metal of some sort, almost pitch black. Attached to it was a piece of paper with his full name written in bold. "Yoshiro Arata”
He glanced up at the birds in hopes of seeing which asshole dropped it on him, but quickly realized how unrealistic his thoughts were. Yoshiro leaned forward and pulled the silk string loose, releasing the note from the small rectangular object.
RE: Congratulations!
You've been chosen to participate in an experiment I've been working on just for You, Yoshiro.
I've been watching you for A while and had decided to let you live in A world modeled after your favorite video game,
"Legend Online”
If you manage to beat the quote on quote final boss, I will grant you any one wish, including the option to go back to your world!
Be careful though, not everything may be how you remember it! GOOD LUCK.
Signed, GOD
P.S. I left you a present, check your new Stat. Plate.
Yoshiro read the note several times before finally blurting out "F**************k you!”
He picked up what could only be assumed as a “Stat. Plate”, the slender rectangular object. As he brought it to his face, he caught a glimpse of his reflection off its surface. He was in the body of his level forty-two Fae mage he had been grinding on for the past few years. He couldn't help but smile. Then the metal object lit up like A tablet screen revealing his current stats.
"Level 1!?” He shouted in confusion. "What the helI!?” The birds scattered into the sky from the nearby treeline. Yoshiro sighed as he came to terms with his character's stats being nerfed. What's this skill? I've never heard of it. He clicked the skill he was referring to with his pointer finger.
A soft and unrecognized female voice came out of his Stat. Plate and began to read off the skills details…
“ Skills: + Automatic Restoration. Origin skill: Mana Restoration. When mana is expended, this skill allows the user to generate mana automatically at a slow, but steady rate. The rate at which mana is generated is determined by your magic skill level”.
That should come in handy …hmm…
Yoshiro looked around with suspicion. "If this is a prank then I've been had. COME ON OUT!” he shouted.
Suddenly, right in front of his eyes the Stat. Plate de-materialized and shimmered into his body.
A man obsessed with video games wakes up in a world modeled after his favorite MMO, "Legend Online" only to discover things are not as they seem. Lore is twisted and death is final.
