As time went by, it had already been 3 years since Arthur and Georgie reincarnated, with the passing years, brought significant changes to the village of Nozumo, especially for young Shikazu. As he grew, he was constantly criticized by other kids for his human-like ears, standing out among his elven brothers.
However, Shikazu never hesitated to defend himself, bravely facing those who mocked him, and earning respect for his strength. In the present day, trouble found Shikazu once again when he got into a scuffle with three boys. Amani, the village chief and Shikazu's Father, reprimanded him for using violence. However, Hakbu, the village elder, stood by Shikazu's side, defending him from Amani's wrath.
"Father-in-law!!! He is hurting those kids!!" Amani shouted.
"So be it, they keep testing the boy just because of a pair of ears," Hakbu retaliated.
"Those with strength should protect the weak, not beat them up because of some teasing or mocking," Amani argued.
Hakbu raised his cane and tapped it on Amani's forehead. "Yes, but always remember this Amani, if the weak intends to harm the strong, it is still well within their right to defend themselves," he said. "And at this moment, those children are trying to harm little Shika, not because they failed to do so, does it negate the fact that they tried." He walked toward Shikazu, continuing, "And besides, if those kids aren't able to recognize that Shikazu is stronger, they should learn." Hakbu laughed.
"Well done, my grandson, but remember this, although you might be strong now, there is always someone stronger. Take Enzo or Kamani, for example. Choose your battles wisely, child."
After the scolding, Shikazu decided to play with a friend he made, a little girl named Eli, away from the village to avoid further trouble. However, the group of boys known for always picking on shikazu, saw them heading out to play and decided to follow discovered them and started a fight. Eli tried to escape, but the boys cornered her. Remembering Hakbu's words about protecting the weak, Shikazu bravely stood up for Eli. Though he fought valiantly, Shikazu was overwhelmed by the sheer number of boys and began to tire. The ruthless group relentlessly attacked him, calling him cruel names. The situation turned dire as they all decided to stomp on him, seemingly intent on causing serious harm.
Meanwhile, back at Shikazu's home, Enzo and Kamani grew concerned about their younger brother. Kamani offered to use his unique Soul Essence to locate Shikazu. Utilizing his Soul Essence, Kamani connected his soul to Shikazu's, seeking to find his whereabouts.
Soul Veins, In this world, every living being possesses a unique metaphysical channel known as Soul Vein. These channels are like spiritual pathways, they connect a person’s physical body with the ethereal realm of souls and energies and they determine the type of power a person can harness.
Soul Essence refers to the type of Soul vein category one belongs to. A person can belong to either one or a specific combination of several different Soul Vein categories. The purity of one’s soul essence reflects their essence as a person and determines their potential for growth and mastery of their abilities. By understanding their Soul Essence, individuals can harness their powers more effectively and explore new ways to develop their skills.
Kamani possesses a unique Soul Essence composed of "Ethereal" and "Manifesto." This combination allows him to use Soul Essence to create various items. He used this ability to create a chain connecting him to his younger brother, Shikazu. Using this power, Kamani and his elder brother, Enzo, can locate Shikazu, who has been in trouble after defending his friend Eli from a group of bullies.
As Shikazu lay on the ground, tears streaming down his face, he felt defeated and overwhelmed. Eli, though frightened herself, mustered her courage and shouted at the boys to leave him alone, feeling frustrated at her own perceived weakness.
The boys hesitated for a moment, but their cruel intentions were far from abating.
In another part of the village, Enzo and Kamani hurriedly approached Shikazu's location, the connection from Kamani's Soul Essence leading them to their little brother.
However, Kamani's chain, the link that connected them, began to waver and grow unstable, causing him distress.
"Enzo!! Carry me to Shika right now, FAST!!" Kamani urgently shouted.
Enzo wasted no time and swiftly lifted Kamani, dashing towards Shikazu with all his might. Concern filled Enzo's heart, and he questioned Kamani about the situation.
"Kamani, what the hell is going on with your Essence? Does it have anything to do with Shika?" Enzo inquired.
"GRANDPA TOLD ME THAT WHEN A CONNECTION BETWEEN SOULS BECOMES UNSTABLE, IT MEANS THAT ONE OF THE SOULS IS FADING. WE HAVE TO GET TO SHIKA NOW—" Kamani's voice faltered, paralyzed with shock as the chain between them suddenly snapped.
A brilliant light followed by a powerful explosion erupted from what seemed to be Shikazu's location, illuminating the village. The force of the blast sent shockwaves throughout the village, capturing the attention of every villager, who felt and saw the spectacular display of Soul Essence.
In that moment, something greater descended.
