Arthur beckoned his son to follow him to the dining hall. Achylis nodded and, as he walked into the center of the hall, he caught their attention.
"It is with great pleasure that I welcome my brother-in-law into our humble McGregor family. Brother, you may approach any of us to assist you if my dear sister here should cause you any difficulty."
Achlys stated hilariously as he can feel the tension within her sister and her mother-in-law. He knows there is something wrong that her sister senses.
“Furthermore, with regards to my sister, although she was raised in a lavish lifestyle, she knows how to generate wealth for herself. She is not someone who will rely on or use the family’s resources. She is our only baby girl. To be honest, we are not as spoiled as the other children of the wealthy clan or family. We value the hard work of our parents.”
Achlys rolled his eyes calling Franzlie baby girl in front of her fiancee and her mother-in-law. Her siblings look up and they don’t try to laugh at what Achlys has said. Franzlie is flustered like a cherry tomato in the midst of Arthur and Drystan. Arthur grins even though his eyes are teary. She tilts her head at the shoulder of her father.
“We know you hate being called a baby girl, but it is our way of showing how much we love you and how proud we are of you. Drystan, if our sister is being hard on you don’t hesitate to tell us what is on your mind about her. We are always here for you to help you in any way we can. We know she can be a little too annoying sometimes but that’s how she is and we love her for who she is.”
“Congratulations to both of you, and I look forward to the day when we welcome a new baby girl into the family. I am also excited at the prospect of spoiling my baby girl niece or, perhaps, an adorable nephew.”
Achlys could not restrain himself from chuckling as he offered a congratulatory speech to his sister and brother-in-law. He raised a glass to them, while Llyr approached and joined his sibling on the elevated dais.
“Drystan, you are a part of the family now. Do not be shy to call us whenever you need help, or if you want to know anything about our sister. She is friendly, but not to us, as in grown-ups. She loves children and is fond of them. She is not picky at all. Please forgive my sister for being too silent most of the time.”
Llyr interjected further commentary on what Achlys had said, and Franzlie resembled a ripened strawberry beside her father. She merely shook her head and attempted to contain her emotions.
“You are fortunate to have my sister, and we, her siblings, are very proud of her. Please take good care of our little bully. She is very dear to us. Furthermore, please tolerate her tantrums and mood swings. This is especially true when it comes to work. She handles it on her own.”
“Drystan, do not think that we have sold our own sister to you. Instead, we want you to understand that she is not just a pretty face but also an independent woman. Instead of giving her flowers, please give her a piece of land where she may grow her own flower garden.”
Rhory patted Drystan’s shoulder and joined in his praise of his sister. Arthur patted her back and smiled at her. She was speechless at the praise of her siblings, her heart filled with joy and a sense of overwhelming bliss. She struggled to control her emotions and managed to maintain her composure in front of her in-laws. Drystan stepped forward and took her hand.
“I don’t know where to start. Yet, all I know now is the ecstasy that I feel inside me is far from any words can describe. All you have said is true, I’m a lucky man to have your sister as my other half.”
“The first time I saw her I already fell for her and I promised myself that I would love her to be my wife. My queen, my friend and my lover. I swear in the grave of my father that I will love her for the rest of my life. I will protect her and care for her and make sure that she is happy.I will love her till the day I die.I will never let her go.”
Her brothers cheered for her and Drystan wrapped her in his arms and kissed her forehead. She smiled while she was flustered and blushed. She could feel the warmth of his lips against her forehead. She goes to the flow since she doesn't know what to react and say to them.
“I’m in debt of gratitude to my father-in-law who believes in me so much and trusts me to be his son-in-law. Franzlie, all the words that I have spoken are true. I love you from that first glance we see each other at my restaurant with your father. You are so amazing and unique to all the girls I have met in the business world. Your demeanor, the way you talk and carry yourself is so extraordinary. I never thought that day our paths would cross.”
Franzlie lowered her head massaging the left side of her head. She tilted her head at Drystan's shoulder before she could lean on him. She faints when she feels the coldness of the air.
“FRANZLIEEE!!!!!!!”
Drystan is dumbfounded when he sees Franzlie faints. The night that’s filled with overwhelming joy turns into chaos. He picks up Franzlie and lets her lay in an open air place. Achlys calls their family doctor.
“What has transpired to her? Why did she lose consciousness? She was in good health earlier in the day and even last night. I noticed that you were all having fun before this event. I let you be since she was eager to spend some time with you. And then this happened.”
Arthur felt great trepidation for his daughter. The maelstrom of emotions he was experiencing triggered his anxiety. He was blaming himself for what had happened to her.
“Father, Franzlie will be all right. You are aware of her fortitude. Do not blame yourself. It is possible that she was feeling unwell before but did not want to disappoint you. She risked something, and we cannot predict what will happen next. Please try to remain calm. The doctor is already here.”
Upon his arrival at the door, Llyr and Xanth came forth to usher the man in his fifties. When the doctor reached the lawn, he permitted them to take her indoors. The doctor checked her pulse and her heartbeat. The old man sighed and dabbed his handkerchief to his forehead.
“Arthur, don’t worry everything is alright and she doesn't have any illness. Is that she’s so overwhelmed that her heart pumps too much blood that blocks the oxygen that’s why she fainted. All too much is dangerous so better let her rest for now. I suggest that any occasion you are having now should be postponed. Until she has recovered her strength.”
“I know for the fact that your daughter is a hard working girl and sometimes she takes for granted her health. Let her rest anything that you guys observe that’s not normal, just call an ambulance and send her to the hospital. I’ll take my leave now. Tell Arthur that it's not to be afraid of. She will be alright.”
Llyr and Xanth nod at the old doctor as they walk him to the gate. Xanth brushes his hair with his fingers, staring at the car that drives away from the villa. They walk back and sit at the stairs near the main door.
